Chapter 1256: Chapter 1257: Stone Lock

Tobanya also smiled, but being accustomed to a cold and indifferent demeanor, her smile was very subtle, with only the corners of her lips tilting slightly upwards.

Su Chengyuan did not smile, still looking down at the ground as if the words they spoke and the matter they laughed about had nothing to do with her. Indeed, it had nothing to do with her.

Ye Zhi also smiled.

Actually, in the military camp, it’s okay to crack some jokes during rest periods.

An Jing, however, did not smile; she turned her gaze back to Liu Feifei and Ting Shu, who were still struggling under the barbed wire.

It wasn’t until Ting Shu and Liu Feifei completed 300 rounds that An Jing shifted her attention away from them.

Liu Feifei was again the last to finish.

By the time Liu Feifei had finished, she was utterly exhausted. Moreover, it was already the third quarter of the ’si’ hour. This meant that she could only rest for a quarter-hour before she had to join the training for the next event.

The fourth quarter of the ’si’ hour.

They were still on the training ground, right in the center of it.

Twenty Stone Locks had already been set up in the center of the training ground, each weighing twenty taels.

An Jing intended to combine modern methods with traditional training to enhance the physical abilities of the female soldiers. Normally, the military camp used Stone Locks for training grip strength, wrist strength, arm strength, as well as waist and leg strength. Therefore, An Jing also planned to use these Stone Locks.

Both An Jing and Ye Zhi did not know how to wield the Stone Locks, but An Jing had called over a young soldier from Wolf Camp who was particularly skilled at it to give the female soldiers a demonstration.

The Stone Lock techniques mainly included lifts like the snatch and the swing; throw methods like the forward throw, reverse throw, straddle throw, and back throw; and catching techniques such as hand catch, finger catch, elbow catch, shoulder catch, and head catch.

The young soldier from Wolf Camp demonstrated the lifting, throwing, and catching techniques with the Stone Locks with remarkable agility, making the heavy Stone Locks seem as light as cotton, which highlighted the extraordinary strength of his grip, arms, wrists, waist, and legs.

After the demonstration was finished, An Jing dismissed the young soldier, then she addressed the new recruits: ”I don’t expect you to learn so much; I just wanted you to see how the soldiers from the neighboring Wolf Camp train with Stone Locks every day. It’s not only you who suffer; they suffer as well.”

”However, if we want to be truly respected within the military camp, we must train even harder. We need to become stronger than them, to earn their genuine respect and admiration. Then, even if we do nothing, they wouldn’t dare to look down on our female military camp.”

She paused, then An Jing asked loudly: ”Do you have the confidence to earn their genuine respect and admiration?”

Ye Zhi and the ten new soldiers immediately responded in unison: ”Yes!”

”Very good.” An Jing was quite satisfied with everyone’s current spirit and demeanor.

Then, An Jing continued: ”I only want you to learn the snatch. That is, to hold a Stone Lock in one hand, lift it high above the head, and keep both arms fully extended, maintaining it for a certain period of time.”

While the others did not say anything, Du Aya murmured: ”That seems too easy.”

”Easy?” An Jing was taken aback. She had been worried that some might not even be able to lift it.

”Yes, easy. I can lift a three or four hundred tael pig, so a few taels of Stone Locks are really nothing in my eyes,” said Du Aya.

Every time Du Aya mentioned pigs, An Jing would fall silent, but this time, she immediately commanded: ”Bring out a sack and fill it with three hundred taels of soil!”

”Yes!”

Soon, two soldiers came carrying a sack filled with three hundred taels of soil.

Pointing at the sack, An Jing said to Du Aya: ”Du A Ya, step out of the line and lift this.”
