Chapter 1272: Chapter 1273: Xiao Changyi Moves into the Military Camp

Gong Juechen continued, ”Tomorrow I’ll see if anyone else is leaving the military camp. If there is, I’ll have someone bring me more food. The food here is too low in oil, and you’re working so hard. If you don’t eat something nutritious to replenish your energy, you’ll definitely lose weight.”

Feeling her mind become more troubled, Ye Zhi said, ”Shut up, don’t talk.”

”Why...” Gong Juechen looked aggrieved, but his hands didn’t stop moving. He continued to insert the needles into Ye Zhi’s back with gentle care.

”I’m very tired and want to sleep, and you—you’re too noisy. Is that reason enough?”

”Enough, enough, enough. Go to sleep quickly.”

Ye Zhi didn’t care whether Gong Juechen was still giving her acupuncture; she really closed her eyes, and soon, she fell back into a dream and slept.

Seeing Ye Zhi fall asleep so quickly, Gong Juechen felt a pang of heartache. He sighed softly to himself. To be honest, he really didn’t want her to be a soldier.

What’s so good about being in a military camp? Restricted everywhere, it’s better to be outside, to do as you please.

However, since you want to stay in the military camp, I’ll stay with you.

With this thought, Gong Juechen continued with the acupuncture.

After finishing with the needles, Gong Juechen did not immediately leave Ye Zhi’s tent. Instead, he sat by Ye Zhi’s bed for a while, watching her, before he finally left her tent.

When Ye Zhi woke up again, she only felt that the aches in her body had alleviated significantly.

Catching sight of the chicken leg wrapped in greaseproof paper by her bed, Ye Zhi pursed her lips, her eyes dimmed before she got up to brush her teeth and wash her face.

After washing up, she quickly ate the chicken leg, rinsed her mouth again, and then went to wake up the new soldiers in the new recruits’ tent for training.

Yes, a new day had begun.

...

For the following half-month, the ten new recruits spent their time in training.

The daily training routines included: weight-bearing running, crawling under barbed wire, lifting Stone Locks, wrestling in muddy fields, and more weight-bearing running.

Because Liu Feifei had been training for many days and still couldn’t lift the Stone Lock, and to avoid Liu Feifei hurting her hand, An Jing replaced it with a Stone Lock weighing ten jin for Liu Feifei. Now, she could lift it and even maintain it for a good while.

Over this half-month, everyone had progressed from not being able to stand steady in the muddy field to now being able to stand firmly.

Moreover, though everyone was still tired after a day of training, they were not as exhausted as they were on the first day of training.

Tobanya, Shi Shi, Du Aya, and Li Wuyu had consistently performed well. Over the half-month, they had improved, but not as noticeably as Su Chengyuan and the others.

Especially Liu Feifei, whose progress was particularly notable.

Now, Liu Feifei could run ten laps around the training ground bearing weight by herself, and it was a real run, not a walk or a crawl. Although she wasn’t running very fast, it was definitely running.

The soldiers from the neighboring Wolf Camp were especially surprised to see Liu Feifei’s physical condition improve so much.

The significant improvement in Liu Feifei’s physical abilities proved that An Jing’s training was effective.

Those who originally thought that An Jing was going to train the female soldiers to death have now all changed their views and feel that An Jing really knows her stuff.

This half-month, not only had the new recruits changed, but there had also been changes with Xiao Changyi.

Xiao Changyi was now living in the Wolf Camp.

He had moved into the Wolf Camp four days before.

If An Jing did not feel that living together would create a bad impression, Xiao Changyi would have directly moved into the tent in the women’s military camp with An Jing, instead of the tent in the Wolf Camp.
