Chapter 1274: Chapter 1275: Let Me Help You

Li Wuyu said, ”I want to follow the instructor.”

An Jing then said, ”Then Li Wuyu will be on my team, and Shi Shi will be on the deputy instructor’s team.” She paused, then asked, ”What about Lie Qi and Baoqin?”

Baoqin smiled generously and said, ”I’ll be on the deputy instructor’s team. A Ya always says I’m slow at washing clothes, so I think if my team wins, I’ll have her wash my clothes for me.”

Lie Qi immediately said, ”That’s perfect, I want to be on the instructor’s team!”

Du Aya laughed and said, ”Baoqin, I think there’s a higher chance you’ll end up washing clothes for me than the other way around.”

Baoqin again smiled generously, cool and composed, ”The competition hasn’t begun yet, it’s not certain who will win in the end.”

An Jing nodded her head, expressing agreement with the choices of Baoqin and Lie Qi, then asked again, ”What about Su Chengyuan and Shi Hua...?”

Shi Hua didn’t speak, waiting for Su Chengyuan to speak first.

Even though Su Chengyuan now mingled well with them, no longer putting on princess airs, Shi Hua still didn’t dare act too boldly around Su Chengyuan. After all, she was still a Princess, much more noble than Shi Hua.

Su Chengyuan said, ”I’ll be on the deputy instructor’s team.” Even though she now fully understood the person before her and admired her greatly, she still wanted to win against her. How could she win if they were on the same team?

As soon as Su Chengyuan spoke, Shi Hua then said, ”Then I’ll be on the instructor’s team.”

An Jing went on to ask, ”Ting Shu and Liu Feifei... what about you?”

Liu Feifei said, ”With my weak constitution, I would probably just hold back any team I choose. I think I’d better not participate.”

Ting Shu said, ”I also feel like I’d hold back the team, I don’t want to join either.”

An Jing said, ”You are both members of this women’s military camp, how can we have a competition if only the two of you don’t participate and just watch from the side? Alright, if you really don’t know how to choose, I’ll help you.”

Having said that, An Jing turned her back, picked up a particularly small pebble from the ground and placed it in her hand. Then, she turned back around and extended her already clenched fists.

She asked, ”There’s a pebble in one of my hands. Whoever chooses the hand with the pebble will be on my team; whoever doesn’t will be on the deputy instructor’s team.”

Liu Feifei and Ting Shu both thought this was a good method to save them the trouble, so they made their choices. Liu Feifei picked An Jing’s right hand and Ting Shu chose An Jing’s left hand.

An Jing opened both hands at the same time, revealing a very small pebble in the right hand and an empty left hand, which meant that Liu Feifei was in An Jing’s team, and Ting Shu was in Ye Zhi’s team.

”I and the deputy instructor only learned this yesterday after consulting with someone from the neighboring Wolf Camp. We are beginners as well, not much better than you all. After we tell you the rules and how to play, perhaps you’ll even be better than us,” said An Jing as she chatted with the ten new recruits, while passing a ball to Ye Zhi.

The ball refers to an ancient type of leather ball.

”You take your team to learn on the left side of the field, while my team learns on the right side.”

”Alright,” Ye Zhi agreed while holding the ball and led her team to learn how to play.

Despite half an hour of learning, neither team played as well as those who play regularly, but the good point was that they learned and knew how to play.

When Xiao Changyi heard that An Jing was going to play the ball game, he came to watch, bringing Meng Zhuqing along with him.

An Jing’s husband, the highly esteemed Prince Yi in the military, would not do for her to let him serve as the referee for their game. So, An Jing asked Meng Zhuqing to act as a referee for them.
