COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”If I get first place and get the transfer ticket, I would like to go to Ichinose’s class to experience it for myself.”

At this time, even Ryuen looked over.

’Because originally I just wanted to set up a plan with Kaneda to stabilize Kinoshita first..But you, Ibuki, unexpectedly turned against us? Do you want to go to Ichinose’s class?’

The atmosphere in Ichinose’s class is very good, and Ibuki felt that she would definitely have a good life if she went there.

Ibuki-san, even if you have such an idea, you shouldn’t self-destruct at this time.

”Ibuki, sit down.” Ryuen was not angry, ”You can’t possibly get first place. Not to mention Kinoshita. You have to beat Horikita Suzune first.”

”.....” Ibuki-san.

She lost to Horikita Suzune in last year’s grade-wide sports, but this time, she can get back at them.

So, Ibuki sat down.

Hikigaya-kun observed the class.

Ibuki is indeed easy to deal with.

Even though she seemed like a thorn just now, was able to get over it with just one sentence.

But let’s go to Ichinose’s class.

Hikigaya-kun had also had this idea before.

It can be said that such a class atmosphere can make people feel at ease.

But judging from current situation, although Ichinose’s class has made some progress, it has not yet met his expectations.

Even if the transformation continues, it will be too late.

It is now the first semester of 2nd year, and Hikigaya-kun estimates that he will be bought by Sakayanagi-san by second semester of 3rd year at the latest.

Of course, now Koenji has gone directly to Class A, which increases the advantage, and Class A can take victory to pursue.

So, he might even get bought in first semester of 3rd grade.

”As for boys, our class has no hope. But girls, it’s a different story. Hikigaya, what do you think now?”

Then he looked in one direction.

But Hikigaya-kun in that direction was distracted.

”Hikigaya-kun!”

”Hikigaya-kun—”

At this time, Hachiman noticed that silver-haired literary girl sitting next to him was calling him.

He also knew that he was distracted just now.

However, Hikigaya-kun still cares a lot about this special exam.

Knowing that he would be bought, every special exam in Ryuen class was particularly precious, because the more points you get, the more money you can.....

”I personally don’t want to lose points.”

”.....” Shiina Hiyori was speechless after hearing this response.

”But even if we do nothing, we won’t be last, so the worst case scenario would be 3rd from bottom, with 100 points deducted. As for the plan.” Hachiman paused two seconds, and then spoke with peace of mind.

”For this sports festival, everyone has a basic score. After registering according to the regulations and taking five mandatory exams, even if you don’t get a ranking, you can still get 10 points at least. So even if there are a lot of poor athletes, each person in the class can still get 10 points.”

”Indeed. There are 40 people in Class A, 39 in Class B, and 38 in our class, 37 in Class D.”

”Yes, Shiina is right. The numbers are balanced. Then, although it is possible to gain points by signing up for a sixth subject, you will need to pay 1 point for each subject you sign up for. Plus, only top three in each event will receive points. Even if others participate, it will just be a waste of effort and the points they paid for registration. So if you know you can’t win, then it’s not recommended to apply.”

”So, in other words, the safest plan for this sports festival is for everyone to participate. Ensure the basic score, Hikigaya-kun?”

”Yes, then, if you are sure you have a chance of getting into top three, then sign up for sixth to tenth items. This plan seems very stable. But....It’s difficult to execute, so students in Class A can do it, unity of Class B can do it, and we in Class C can do it, but Class D.... let’s don’t talk about them.”

In other words, even if students in Class D knew about this sound plan, some of them would still sign up privately.

You know, exam rules state that registration is free, and 6th item will only start on day of sports festival.

Then students can sign up freely.

Everyone has a project to participate in.

Unless someone sacrifices the project to become the commander and monitors students’ every move, it is impossible to control.

For students in Class D, the situation is completely out of control.

As long as someone registers randomly, it means that his basic 10 points will be lacking, and he will lose to other classes in this aspect.

Then you can only be at the bottom.

”A robust plan can ensure that we are ranked 3rd from the bottom. That is, -100 points. But, it will still result in a point deduction, so I want to try my best. But success rate should be high. It can probably reach 80%. Because, as for the boys, our class is pretty good overall, but we can’t easily get into top three. So, we can take over the less popular projects.”

”....Right, waiting for enemy to tire out.” Hiyori muttered to herself, her brain quickly understanding pros and cons in just a few seconds.

”Definitely. Each person can participate in 10 events, and we try to sign up for that are later in schedule so that we can grab one that is less physically fit. Other students who sign up for events earlier in schedule will definitely run out of energy.”

Ryuen’s class is mixed, and many boys and girls have been delinquents.

Therefore, physical fitness is still worth relying on.

Waiting for the opportunity to succeed while taking a rest is indeed a good solution.

”At the same time. Most of the girls in our class have good physical fitness and athletic ability, and there are seven or eight girls who can compete to get into top three in their events.”

The ones that can be named are Kinoshita, Ibuki and Shiina. Then there are the NPC girls 1234.

The combat capability seems to be surprisingly good.

The reason why this is seen this way is that Hikigaya-kun needs to take part of the blame.

Because since last year, Class C had only been under Ryuen for half a month before falling behind.

Then suffered from hunger and cold for almost the whole year.

The school also has clubs and other organizations that hope to explore and develop students’ other strengths.

If you join a society and perform well, you can receive a certain amount of living allowance.

Because you were so poor.

Since last year, many students in Ryuen’s class have joined sports-related clubs.

Therefore, for most students, when they know that sports festival is coming, they will cram for it and start training on 1st at the latest, just like Ichinose’s class.

They have been training for about three weeks now.

But can your three weeks of hard work compare to someone else’s more than a year of training?

Therefore, Ryuen’s class has the advantage in this regard.

Waiting for opponent to tire themselves out is indeed a strategy that suits his class.

”This plan will allow our class to strive for second place, Ryuen-kun.”

”So what about the first place? I admit that Koenji is awesome, but does that mean we have no hope at all?”

Um....Ryuen-kun did dare to think so.

But this also shows that his ambition has always been to go against the tide.

And now he can still aim for the first place, which shows that Ryuen has some ideas.

But class is configured like this, if you want to win, you have to use dark means.

Ryuen-san. Class evaluation scores are now 1500 instead of 0.

Hikigaya-kun still hopes that you can be more cautious, because...’It’s okay to use dirty tricks, but... Ryuen-san, you also have to consider the cost of....’

As harvester of most of the points in this class, Hikigaya-kun doesn’t want to see his own points affected.

”With our class’s combat power, there’s no way we can stop Koenji. But, this sports festival doesn’t necessarily have to be a one-man show for Koenji. If someone competes with him for first place and doesn’t completely lose, then Koenji won’t be able to get all the first place points. So Class A is not 100% sure to win.”

Boom! Thud!

”Bahhhh!”

”What do you mean?” Ryuen kicked the damn chair and looked over fiercely that scared the shit out of many people.

Sakagami watched quietly.

”Remember last year’s sports festival for the entire grade? How did my class beat you, Ryuen?”

”….”

”.....” These words hurt his feelings.

Last year, Ryuen and his classmates set up various traps, framing Horikita Suzune and Sudo.

As a result, there was already a spy for Hikigaya in class, and Ryuen lost 300-point agreement between Hikigaya and Class A.

These words also made Ryuen sober up a little.

At that time, he felt that he had gained something from taking exam on the uninhabited island, so he was a little proud.

But...now.

The class evaluation score rose to 1500 points, and his income also increased.

Everything was going smoothly for him, and Ryuen became a little proud.

If there was any loss, Hikigaya would be the first to trouble him. He would have to pay out as much as the loss.

”.....” Ryuen. ’So, Hikigaya is trying to warn me. But I am the kind of person who wants to struggle even though I know it is impossible. I like challenges. However, if fail, I will have to give back the money I earned.’

Ryuen-san was silent for a moment.

”Last year, Hikigaya-kun arranged for class’s secret weapons, Ayanokoji-kun and Onodera-san, to perform a three-way match to increase score.”

Hiyori’s angelic voice came over that brought Ryuen out of his destructive ideas, preventing from going too far.

She is really an angel.

Unlike Kushida-chan or Ichinose.

Really underrated. See, that’s why Sakagami always wanted Hiyori to participate in class battles.

Her evaluation can be updated in school report.

”Yes. I’m also talking about this Ayanokoji. He is the secret weapon I have prepared, and he is also the only one in school who can compete with Koenji.”

That is to say, if Ayanokoji and Koenji are in the same event and competing for the first place, Koenji would not be able to give Class A so many points.

A person can only participate in 10 projects.

Therefore, role of Koenji could be forced to be limited.

Then naturally, opportunities have come for other classes.
