COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”Hikigaya-kun. Before you entered this school, you were hospitalized because of a leg injury.”

’This is my past, and I have not hidden it, but most people probably don’t know it. However, Miss Haruno and Miss Hiratsuka have a good relationship, so perhaps she knows it. Or...Miss Haruno was chosen to come to this school, and then Miss Hiratsuka told her that I was also in this school. All of this makes sense. But judging from Yukinoshita’s performance, she was not selected, but was forced to be sent to this school....’ Hikigaya-kun can be sure that driving force behind is this sister.

So what this sister means is...

Then she mentioned his injury... Hikigaya-kun had almost forgotten about it.

But thinking back, it was... a few days before he entered the new school, he saw a puppy running around on the road, not looking ahead at all, and a black car was driving in front.

If nothing is done, puppy will surely be hit and killed.

Considering this, Hikigaya-kun subconsciously made a move to grab the puppy, and then...car braked, and his left leg was injured, but the puppy was fine.

Then went to hospital.

The driver of the car got out to apologize and took responsibility.

At that time, Hikigaya-kun had a great sense of initiative and responsibility.

However, other party still forcefully paid all the hospitalization expenses.

That was end of the matter.

Later, Hikigaya-kun was worried that he would not be able to report to school on time due to hospitalization, and would be isolated.

But Miss Hiratsuka recommended Advanced Nurturing High School, whose admission was still taking place.

Then he started new life here.

A new life began.

In other words, if he had not been recommended to come to this school, he would not have been able to find a marriage partner who was willing to support him in the future, and at the same time have a large sum of money for his and his sister’s retirement.

And now, Miss Haruno, what do you mean by bringing up this topic?

”It’s been a long time since it happened, but I’m a little sorry. Actually, the car you had the accident with before was mine.”

”...!! ?” Hikigaya Hachiman.

So to speak, Is the world so small?

”Then...” Hachiman recalled how Yukinoshita-san seemed to be hesitant to speak to him recently.

Did she want to mention this?

”The person sitting in the car at the time was Yukino. Although I don’t know if she told you about this. Bu, if you have any complaints, please come to me. She was just sitting in that car.”

In fact, car accident was that Hikigaya was hit by a car.

But in reality, he too bears a great deal of responsibility.

Therefore, Hikigaya-kun had no intention of pursuing these matters.

’Because in the end, I just wanted to save the puppy and didn’t think much about myself. Or, it was not until I rushed out and saw the car coming that I felt scared.....’ So if Hikigaya-kun sees a kitten or a puppy encountering a car again, it is hard to say whether he will go to rescue it.

Because he was lucky before and only his left leg was injured. If the other car was going faster or even failed to brake, it would be hard to say what would have happened to him.

He was impulsive at the time.

Now, he has his own family, a lovely sister, and a partner who is willing to marry him.

Being impulsive is irresponsible to yourself and everyone else.

Although it’s regrettable, Hikigaya-kun has grown up, ”Actually, Miss Haruno didn’t come here alone to discuss this matter, did she?”

”Hey, you can tell!” Haruno nodded and looked at him with some surprise, ”Actually, I’m also quite conflicted. After all, Hikigaya-kun and Yukino-chan have such a past. But after the test, your demeanor was very satisfactory.”

’In other words, does everything now involve observing Hikigaya Hachiman? What do you want to do after the inspection?’ This boy looked at Haruno, gazing at her stunningly beautiful appearance with a confused face.

Then heard other person’s voice.

”After receiving the invitation to come to this school, I spent two nights thinking about it before coming to this conclusion.”

”Hikigaya-kun.”

She looked at Hachiman with determination in her eyes.

”You have received high praise from Shizuka-chan and Chabashira-sensei. My sister has a disability, so my mother and I sent her here, hoping that she would experience a round of beatings at school first. I don’t hope she can grow much, but the most important thing is that she is not so naive and doesn’t get cheated by the society.”

Haruno’s words seemed to be without reservation, and Hikigaya understood that this was the worry of a sister-con for her sister.

”Now I can’t be sure whether you have feelings for Yukino, but there has always been no one around her. When I saw you by her side, I knew that you might be a little different to her. And if you can get into her heart. Then I hope you can keep it to yourself. So....what I want to do.”

Phew! Do you want to breathe and create the atmosphere first?

”Twenty million. I can personally give you twenty million and deliver it directly to your home. Don’t fall in love with my sister.”

”Eh..” Hachiman let out a dumb voice.

”No, I am very serious. Yukino is stupid and naive. Once she falls in love, she will definitely become love-brained and even unable to bear the frustration of a broken heart. So, please don’t fall in love with her.”

”O....∆” Hikigaya-kun felt like he had misheard. ’Because what does it mean that I give you 20 million and then you don’t have a relationship with my sister? Where are you from, sister control? Is she going to do this to everyone....?’

Even though they were both from Chiba, Hikigaya-kun felt that he couldn’t do this.

’Because if your sister is in love, if you are worried that she will be deceived by bad people, then you can directly destroy it and start preaching to her. As long as her heart is not shaken, no one can deceive her, right? The person in front of me is Yukinoshita Haruno. She said that her sister is very popular and takes her as her goal. Follow along and learn....But, Yukinoshita failed to get her sister’s approval. In other words, it means literally [the relationship between the two sisters is not good], so it will be difficult for Miss Haruno to persuade her younger sister, so should she start with someone who may be able to deceive her younger sister? What the hell?!’

”.....” At this time, Hikigaya finally understood why Miss Haruno would test him again and again.

Because from the very beginning, Haruno regarded him as someone who might lead her sister towards ambition or even fall in love?

”Why would you ask me to do this? I am just a colleague to Yukinoshita.”

Hikigaya-kun used the rhetoric of a schoolgirl.

In other words, deliberately did not reveal that he already knew that Yukino had been held back a year.

Acting distant.

But Haruno Yukinoshita shook her head as it she wasn’t going to back down at all, ”Because this school is unique. And Hikigaya-kun, you are vice president of the student council, right? If you don’t have the ability, you can’t sit in this position.”

’In fact, you can still get in even if you don’t have the ability, because except for the student council president who is selected, other members can be arranged with president’s approval. Sakayanagi’s criteria for approval are very subtle. Not all of them are affirming your ability. Maybe they think you are hard to conquer and put you in student council to increase her fun.....!’ But Hikigaya-kun is keeping silent now.

”Yukino is very cute. Even though she was sent to this school, she has always wanted to follow in my footsteps, so she definitely wants to move up, and now she is a member of student council. So her contact with Hikigaya-kun will increase. But, Yukino-chan actually has no experience getting along with boys since she was a child. And you have the strength. I can’t help but worry.”

’Your head is too big and filled with dirty thoughts!’ Hachiman really wanted to complain here but a teacher was paying attention over here.

”Besides, Shizuka and Chabashira both approve of you. So, what I just said doesn’t mean that you will definitely develop. But I want to get insurance.”

’Go to a bank!’ His inner thoughts are now going wild.

In other words, Yukinoshita Haruno is avoiding the worst possible scenario.

Although Hikigaya-kun hasn’t developed any relationship with her sister yet, she still wants to get a stable response. ’Just being able to take out 20 million in cash to buy insurance, should we say that Yukinoshita family is really rich?’

”In other words, as long as I don’t fall in love with Yukinoshita in this school, Miss Haruno will give my family 20 million in cash, right?”

Don’t try to find loopholes, okay?

”Yeah.” In fact, Haruno’s food had already gotten cold, but she didn’t mind breaking the Chef’s feelings inside KFC at all, ”I haven’t had much contact with Hikigaya-kun, but from what I’ve had so far, I think I recognize you, and you can also get the recognition of Chabashira-sensei and even Shizuka-chan. So I believe you are very dangerous.”

”So, if I spent 20 million to ensure that my sister would not be heartbroken. I think it’s worth it.”

’Then you are really a girl who brings wealth! Hmm~’ The last time Hikigaya-kun encountered a rich woman like this was when he met Sakayanagi.

However, the 20 million that Sakayanagi asked for was for her class, and it was only for the transfer fee, not for him.

But now Yukinoshita’s sister gives him money directly.

This is really too much. Using money to insult him.

”I already have someone I’m going to marry after graduation, so it should be impossible for me to be with your little sister Yukinoshita.”

”Who knows what will happen next?”

Hachiman felt like rubbing his forehead or using some kind of towel, and cooling out for a while, ”Then I will write you my home address. Since we don’t want any disputes to arise, can you please write an agreement?”

O O’ Now, it was Haruno who feel a little bit subtle about what she was doing right now.
