COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”Let’s continue to maintain a good relationship with Hikigaya, and watch this cultural festival. I don’t pay attention to the situation in your class, but, Suzune, do you know how Hikigaya handled this event? And how he managed to get so many people in.”

”This...” Suzune herself seemed unable to fully cope with it.

But Manabu himself who understands a lot about dating after leaving school said with a knowing face, ”As guests, we received a tour brochure from first-grade students at school gate. So knowing that eventually there’s a show here at 3 o’clock. As a guest, you are unfamiliar with school, so the probability that you will act according to instructions in tour brochure is very high.”

”Huh? Bu..but school probably didn’t print all of our projects in tour brochure, and teacher didn’t mention the existence of such a thing as a tour brochure.” Suzune had several complaints about what her brother just said to her.

”That’s because you don’t know this school well enough. Strength and points are paramount. As long as you have enough points, even if you do something that doesn’t conform to the rules, it will be allowed. And this manual was probably designed by first graders themselves. So they have a head start.”

???

”You need to be more flexible, Suzune. Ordinary people have preconceived ideas about this brochure. They are easily driven. People in the shopping street are selling things or providing services, so normal rice ball or gold fish projects l cannot attract them. On the contrary, performances and other things that are common in cultural festivals of ordinary schools will attract their attention.”

”It’s not about doing yoga and exercise of such, Horikita-san.” Tachibana explained a bit more calmly with a serious face to her naive sister-in-law.

”Cough....” Manabu gave her an eye.

”After all, students are confined to the school, and so are the staff. Even the homeroom teachers don’t have many opportunities to leave the school freely. So what Hikigaya grasps psychology of different types of customers. Then publicity.”

”Yes, Ichinose-san from your grade is one of the lead singers. She is very popular even in our grade.” Tachibana’s words looked comforting but it was like she was treating a very fragile child.

”Tachibana is correct. Even teachers got in on the act. Then, as vice president of the student council, Hikigaya was also used as a way to gain popularity, although in the end he just played piano on stage with a normal presence.... I think it’s probably to attract popularity and invite more people. They don’t care whether they can perform or not.”

Hmm....

This practice is really excessive, almost unscrupulous for the sake of sales!

But it is undeniable.

Very successful. But Suzune had a different understanding.

That is, although Hikigaya-kun also participated and took advantage of his own popularity, he was not just playing the piano with a weak presence as his brother said.

During this period, although Hikigaya came to dinner, he left in a hurry soon, as if he was going to training.

So he is also taking it seriously.

Suzune felt she had to refute her brother on this point.

Wait a moment.

Suzune was about to speak when suddenly the situation changed and realized that her brother was teaching her.

So, quickly began to listen carefully.

But it happened quickly.

With a ”dong” sound, someone sat down in the empty seat next to Horikita Suzune.

This person was none other than the person that girl and her brother had just discussed.

”You came over from the backstage?” Suzune said to the boy next to her without even looking in his direction to confirm the identity.

’You’re are so familiar with each other’s movements!’ Tachibana’s eyes looked over with a gentle nod in being approved.

”Yeah. Next up is Chabashira-sensei’s performance. Sales are better than expected, and I’m worried there might be some problems, so I came here to the audience.”

....Oh.

Are you worried that something might happen to Chabashira-sensei and that you’ll have to deal with any emergencies?

Why is there a problem?

Suzune soon found out.

”Chabashira, I love you!”

During Sae-chan’s solo performance, someone obviously rebelled.

xxxxxxx

Hikigaya sat in the four-person row seat that was specially prepared for him because he noticed Suzune’s presence.

Horikita Manabu and Tachibana Akane sat together, while Horikita Suzune sat on the outermost side.

That’s strange.

Aren’t they a family? Why is there an empty seat in middle?

Because people around them are all the leeks who have paid for tickets... no, they are the financiers.

Now Hachiman and others are sitting relatively near the front, and if they keep standing there it will affect the people at back from enjoying plays on the stage.

So Hikigaya-kun sat in this empty seat, with Horikita Manabu on his left, but Suzune on his right.

’As before, Horikita didn’t use perfume, but sitting next to her, I could still smell a little bit of fragrance. It should be the scent of shampoo, and this seems to be used by Karuizawa recently. It was probably recommended by Kushida to Horikita because Kushida was using it the month before last... However, after recommending it to Horikita, Kushida immediately switched to another one.....So I don’t really understand Kushida-san’s train of thought. If you don’t want to have the same stuff as Horikita, then don’t recommend your own stuff! Of course, this isn’t the kind of thing we need to pay attention to right now....’ Hachiman was thinking about various unimportant stuff.

Now performance on the stage comes to the Little Prince from Class 1A, Grade 1.

”Incredible. Once he gets going, he doesn’t stop.”

It’s a drama.

It tells the story of a literary classic that is very famous among junior high school students.

Because of the accumulation of knowledge during their junior high school life, it does not seem too unfamiliar to them.

But it’s very strange.

Some lines are the same as original, but for some reason, sound a bit gay.

”It’s Ishigami...pfff! Hahah.”

Hachiman noticed that someone two rows away from them couldn’t help but speak up.

So, he looked at Horikita Suzune who met his gaze and said like a robot, ”Ishigami Kyo. A student in Class A, first year. Currently playing the role of a pilot on stage.”

Um.

Even though she has been promoted to second grade, Suzune has still made some achievements.

At least she is good at identifying other people’s information.

This is something Hikigaya-kun cannot do.

Although he is good at observation and even has a strong memory, he is not very interested in remembering everyone’s information.

As for the Ishigami Kyo that Horikita mentioned, Hachiman had actually met him once during Treasure hunt on ship.

At that time, he went to find Ichika.

Ichika Amasawa officially regained her status as the class representative.

At that time, there was a student who seemed to have some opinions about his novels being snatched by Yukino, and that student was Ishigami Kyo.

This guy has hair tied in a bun and even looked purple!

Because outfit was somewhat similar to that of senior Akane Tachibana, people took a second look at him.

The person who was sitting in the back and muttering just now was an acquaintance, Ryuji Kanzaki.

Not only Kanzaki Ryuji, but students from Ichinose’s class were all nearby.

This is a class of good kids, whose thoughts similar to....

[Although I was always very nervous about the points, as soon as I knew that Archangel in my class was going to perform on stage, I immediately came to support her and paid for my admission ticket.]

However, a portion of the reward for hiring Ichinose-san will be shared with her class after ensuring Ichika’s class’ victory.

So to some extent, it is also helping Ichinose, it’s always a good thing.

”I can only recognize the name and appearance temporarily. Other aspects need to be checked in OAA system.” Suzune was pretending to be humble, or it’s just her natural reaction, Hachiman knows it’s the latter.

She is an honest person.

”That’s enough. We don’t need to pay too much attention to him.”

”....” Horikita Manabu.

”What’s wrong, Horikita-kun?” Akane Tachibana noticed the state of Manabu beside her, who seemed to be paying attention to Hikigaya and Suzune.

”It’s nothing. I should say I feel a little relieved.....” Muttering to himself. ’Because today my sister said that Hikigaya wanted to distance himself from her, but now it seems that relationship between them is really good.....’

”Focus on the stage.” Manabu was in a good mood now.

”Yeah.” But senior Tachibana Akane knew about it, and this confirmed that her sister-in-law and Hikigaya still have a good relationship.

In fact, she was also surprised to hear that Hikigaya Hachiman had transferred to Ryuen’s class.

You know, Ryuen’s class was suppressed at the bottom of D for a whole year.

Moreover, it is still 0 points for a long time. Even if it breaks through 0 points, there is no living expenses. It is even notorious.

As a result, Hikigaya Hachiman went to Ryuen’s class instead of A.

This is a very surprising thing.

But in the afternoon, both went to second-year students’ small blackboard with President Horikita... well, it was Manabu who wanted to check evaluation scores.

Then he saw

Grade 2

Class A (Sakayanagi) 1920 points

Class B (Ichinose) 1558.1 points

Class C (Ryuen) 1225 points

Class D (Horikita) 1055.7 points

(O_O)!

It’s really scary, Hikigaya-kun!
