COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

It was originally in a firm state, but now it is barely floating. But even so, Komachi can still hold on!

’In other words, Onee-chan has at least thought seriously about the future. As his sister... I’m used to seeing his gloomy look, so we should encourage his positive side now and not be too harsh on him. At the same time, his choice was not wrong. After all, now is the opportunity to realize your life ideals. It would be strange if you didn’t catch it. So what we need to do is to hope that future sister-in-law can abide by the agreement, marry my brother according to requirements of the original agreement, and agree to the ideal of being a househusband....The worst case scenario is divorce. At that time, my brother will still be alone, and as his sister, I can only continue to support him. This situation... doesn’t seem to be much different from never getting married and growing old alone at home. Besides this is the worst case scenario, there are also good possibilities, right?’

”.....Hmm.” Komachi seemed to have regained its vitality.

”So, Sakayanagi-nee...you told me these things...” Komachi began to look at her with a searching gaze, using same words at last when she realised earlier got more inclined towards a formal one but now after confession.

”I recognize Hachiman’s ability. Like I just said, I have a good impression of him.”

’So, you are speaking sweet words.’ Komachi finally understood the situation. ’This super cute student council president is really interested in my brother. Moreover, after knowing his situation, she did not choose to avoid him, but instead wanted to correct brother’s concept of love and fall in love with him?’

As for love and things like that, Komachi is just a younger sister and doesn’t know much about it.

She had a feeling that if her brother really had a real relationship, things might change.

After all, her brother is a very responsible person.

She also had to acknowledge her brother’s maturity in thinking about the problem.

’Such a mature brother chooses to try to date Kushida-nee, and is also in open contact with Horikita-senpai’s younger one, so it’s a bit regrettable, Sakayanagi-nee. My brother didn’t actually consider you as a choice.’

Thinking of this, Komachi tried to put on a polite and comforting expression.

But then she heard the other party continue.

”I come from a wealthy family. As the only daughter, I am the sole heir. As for assets, I don’t pay attention to them, but I can guarantee that your brother, and even your children and the next generation, will not have to worry about money in the future.”

Wow! Komachi began to vibrate.

’Hello, hello, hello. Onee-chan, the rich woman you have been looking for really exists! Not only does it exist, but you also have a good impression of other person. Indeed, Kushida-nee is very nice and considerate, but this is a chance to rise to top overnight....There is no need to worry about future divorce. Even if you divorce, you will have a large sum of money, which can solve the problem of retirement in second half of your life....So, instead of being supported by someone later, it is better to choose someone who can give you full financial support from the beginning!’

”.....” Komachi felt her expression changing by the second this girl was running her mouth.

Oh no.

Even though she is very shaken now, her brother has already made his choice, so Komachi should support him.

Right...!

Komachi didn’t think her brother was completely unaware of Sakayanagi’s direct feelings, but he still chose Kushida and Horikita Suzune.

So, Sakayanagi must have been forgotten in her brother’s heart.

However, Sakayanagi Arisu is a wealthy woman, and she is the most suitable choice for her brother.

As a younger sister, Komachi also understands that Hikigaya Hachiman sometimes avoids the most correct choice subconsciously thinking it’s too okayish....

Do you want to get involved?

Sakayanagi-nee specifically asked her to come here, probably because she hoped she could do some ideological work on her brother.

ah.....what to do? What to do?

So, Komachi began to feel conflicted.

On the other side of auditorium, in 3rd row of seats.

Horikita Suzune, whose name Komachi had just called, sneezed.

”Did you catch a cold?” Tachibana asked with a worried face, because if everything goes just like she’d thought, girl in front is her sister-in-law.

She and others bought the tickets.

Or rather, after they found out they had returned to school, student in charge of selling tickets asked directly for permission, and was told that it was free.

But Horikita Manabu would never take free things from others.

So be prepared to pay the price, or even markup on the spot.

”Vice-President Hikigaya said that he reserved seats for four people in a row.” This is what student in charge of selling tickets said with a polite expression.

’So this time, Hikigaya is the one who invited us. Is this considered a treat from him?’ Manabu doesn’t like taking other people’s things for free, but he doesn’t need to care so much about his family members.

So, he sat down with his sister and Tachibana Akane.

But he thought about it. The four-person row of seats means there is one extra seat.

However, Manabu just noticed that Hikigaya Komachi was taken to a very good position on Sakayanagi’s side, so this position should not be reserved by Hikigaya for his sister.

But boy himself might come over later.

And now, show goes on.

The stage for students’ performance was chosen to be the gymnasium, which was very large and could accommodate 2,000 people.

There are tickets and thresholds.

It shouldn’t be that crowded, but now, a total of 1,200 faculty and shopping street staff, more than 400 students, and 300 guests, so 70% of them are here.

This time, not only guests but also many ordinary students came.

However, most sit in the back rows or stand.

”.....” Still no money.

Just now, Tachibana Akane looked at Suzune with some concern.

She is already dating Manabu, so logically speaking, his sister will be her sister from now on, so it is reasonable for her to care about her own family.

”No, maybe I studied too late yesterday.” In fact, Suzune’s daily routine has always been very regular, and she went to bed on time yesterday.

’But I do feel a bit cold now, so I might be catching a cold soon....Then I have to go to bed early tonight.’ Suzune was still thinking calmly.

”Is Hikigaya no longer in the original class now?”

He already knew from his sister that the whole school was holding a cultural festival, but her class seemed to be lagging behind, and she did not insist or contribute to it.

Manabu did not force this.

Rather, knowing that Hikigaya Hachiman had already left the class, it would be foolish for the sister to continue.

Doing nothing is not the best solution.

”He went to Ryuen-kun’s class. Then he participated in this performance. Just like the opening now.”

Ryuen’s class?

As a senior, Horikita Manabu certainly still remembers Ryuen, who repeatedly committed fouls and liked to use dirty tricks.

But it was a bit surprising that Hikigaya went to Ryuen’s class.

But it happened quickly.

On his way to the gym, he took a special look at second grade class evaluation scores.

Obviously.

Gold will shine no matter where it is.

Even Ryuen’s class began to shine with the addition of Hikigaya.

He also remembered that his sister was troubled during sports for the whole grade last year, and asked her what she would do if Hikigaya went to another class.

Her response at that time was to try to understand him, become stronger, and then go to where he was and see the scenery he saw.

The feeling that his sister gave him was still not enough.

Hikigaya always says that his sister has changed, but Manabu feels that his sister has been fooled by him, and even fooled him along with her.

’Eh....It’s a rare opportunity to return to this school, so I’d better improve my sister’s ability first. From the performances I’ve watched so far, the first graders have been doing a good job, and then second grader Ichinose has also contributed. But my younger sister, who had a closer relationship with Hikigaya, was not able to go on stage. There must be something wrong....For example, my sister is not worthy enough to go on stage and get Hikigaya’s approval. This is very regrettable.’

”The ticket revenue from this stadium performance should be very good.” Although Manabu didn’t spend a penny now, when he entered the door, the prices of 30,000 for standing tickets and 40,000 for seated tickets were clearly marked.

Although final transaction price may change, current level of excitement suggests that there may be around 1,400 to 1,500 people on site.

That’s a scary number.

Before graduating, Horikita Manabu spent 1 million points to buy a ticket from Chairman that would allow him to enter the school as an off-site aid when his sister gets into trouble.

This time, he was not sure whether his invitation to school was trigger for this aid.

Before he went to find his sister, he went to the chairman’s office and asked, who replied this was a normal invitation.

In other words, he could still be his sister’s secret weapon.

”The turnover is estimated to be around 60 million. It attracted the attention of more than 70% of school members. About 90% of people in shopping street have come, and more than 200 of 300 off-campus guests have also arrived. For students, maybe there are stalls that need service, or... they don’t have enough points, so can only buy standing tickets, or wait until halftime to enter for a lower price. But overall, a turnover of 60 million should be achievable.” Suzune was still quite well prepared when it comes to things like these.

Not enough points?

This word caught Horikita Manabu’s attention. Did students of this school have been plundered after he graduated?

But he is no longer student council president, and now he only needs to focus on his sister’s affairs.

”Suzune, when you entered school last year, I was very strict with you, but now you know that you can’t adapt to this school if you are too naive or alone. So, at that time, you either had to drop out and go to a regular school, or you had to work twice as hard to stay here.”

Huh? Suzune looked at her brother in surprise.

’Because what my brother said seemed like... an apology for what happened in the past. It seems that... since graduation, his attitude towards me has become much softer. Not as sharp anymore....’ She gave a mild glance towards Tachibana who just gave her a small smile.

Of course.

Because right now, for Horikita Manabu, Suzune is just a younger sister who deserves attention but cannot be trusted to be alone yet.

”Um... Brother actually...”
