COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”Can you please write an agreement?”

O O’ Now, it was Haruno who feel a little bit subtle about what she was doing right now.

”Huh?” Look, she even blinked gently at this time, feeling incredible, ”You agreed?”

”Of course, I did.” Hachiman said with a serious face that showed no sign of wavering at all, ”I am a student of this school, and just like you use voucher, points are very important to us students, and they can even be cashed when we graduate. So Miss Haruno’s 20 million is a temptation for me.... Beside, there’s no sign of a romantic relationship between me and Yukinoshita, so I think this money is a waste. As a student of this school, there is no reason to not make money.”

’Are you so decisive?!’ Haruno too stared at Hikigaya-kun’s shameless pupils with her own, without any dodging.

She did not hesitate and talked to the female teacher, who then stood up and soon came back with a small notebook and a pen.

She handed the item to Haruno, who opened notebook opposite to Hikigaya.

Turn to second page.

Then writing of the agreement began.

[I, Yukinoshita Haruno, and Hikigaya Hachiman have made an agreement.

If Hikigaya Hachiman and Yukinoshita Yukino do not have a romantic relationship during high school, then Yukinoshita Haruno will provide Hikigaya Hachiman with 20 million yen in cash for free.

Note: The cash will be given to the Hikigaya family first.

If Hikigaya Hachiman violates the rules, cash will be repaid.]

Then Haruno’s signature.

In duplicate.

Hachiman took a look and signed his name as well.

”As for the money, I will prepare it when I get home today, and then ask your family to write a receipt when they sign for it. Do you think this arrangement is okay?”

’Of course. There is no reason to refuse money that you pick up for free.’

”Actually, I can understand your approach, Miss Haruno.”

’Can you understand my behavior? That’s… surprising. It’s actually funny. My actions and way of thinking have never been understood by anyone. It is like this now, and I am afraid it will be like this in the future.’ While thinking ina sad mood, she heard Hikigaya’s voice continuing his behaviour.

”Indeed. Doing so seems to protect your sister. But, that’s just what a good sister should do. Ms. Haruno, you are actually doing this just because you have to do it as Yukinoshita’s sister.” Hachiman said something strange, ”It’s very hard.”

He noticed that Haruno’s eyes seemed to be frozen for a moment, so he quickly said, ”Sorry, I said too much. You are a good sister, Miss Haruno.”

Good sister? This is a compliment to her.

Haruno remained polite, but inwardly she was shaking her head. Because she was just jealous of Yukino, who was a mean person.

’Just like other party’s rude words now. I put in so much effort because my younger sister Yukino wants a sister like me and mother needs a sister who loves and cares for her younger sister. Why am I the older sister, and Yukino as younger sister is loved by everyone, and it doesn’t matter if Yukino is a little weaker but not me...Even if Yukino did something wrong, me, as her sister, would be there to help eliminate the impact’

Haruno Yukinoshita sat down. Although there was still a smile on her face, it seemed frozen.

Hikigaya-kun knows this is a sign of being lost in one’s own inner world, and can often be seen in Kushida-chan. ’This is also the price of playing an image that others like. There will be problems inside.....’

The problem with Haruno’s milk is even bigger.

Kushida-chan has so much to throw away in bottles, but Yukinoshita Haruno, the perfect sister, her milk is loved by everyone. But she doesn’t have enough to supply....Even though her potential in acting to provide more is even better than Kushida-chan, it’s just no one understood her difficulties.

Haruno has no one to whom she can get her frustrations.

”Times up--”

Don’t know how much time had passed, but female teacher sitting at the door of KFC stood up and looked over here.

It seemed to be reminding Haruno that time had come to leave their world.

”I understand.” Haruno recovered her state at this time. She did not stay for long, but stood up.

”Although Hikigaya-kun’s decisiveness is a little surprising.”

However, Haruno turned around and looked at him and stretched out her hand.

Just when Hachiman thought that she wanted to shake hands in a cooperative manner, she directly raised her slender white fingers and touched his left cheek, into a back-side hug manner.

”If it weren’t for the fact that I couldn’t just pick my marriage partner casually, then I would still be somewhat interested in you....”

”I’m sorry.” Hachiman turned his face away, ”I think Yukinoshita-nee will look down on me because I just want to be an ordinary househusband... So I definitely can’t be a social animal. Then it won’t be of any help to you.”

’Is that so? You actually want to be a gigolo househusband.’ At this exact moment, Haruno suddenly thought this guy’s words were a perfect match for her.

Because she is the heiress of Yukinoshita family and has received the elite education of an heir since she was a child, she must have a marriage partner, but it cannot be someone of equal status, because if he is of equal status, she will worry that her family will be swallowed up by the other party.

But it’s not okay to be too bad either.

It has to be bearable, and then... there won’t be any harm to Yukinoshita family.

’What is needed is a son-in-law who is willing to be a waste. There is a lot of waste, but very few of them are pleasing to the eye. Otherwise, not only do you have to face everyone outside, but even the people around you and the one sleeping next to you need to behave like the type that other person likes. It would be too tiring.....Hikigaya Hachiman, well should I go talk with mother?’ Haruno felt like a huge stone was pressing on her chest when she thought about her future life.

But now doesn’t seem to be time to talk about this.

”It seems like we can only stay here. Also, please arrange for someone to send Shizuka a bouquet of flowers.”

”Um....is it really that?”

”You guessed it. Shizuka wanted to give you a bouquet of flowers as a return gift, but they were borrowed by me. After noticing this, I definitely wouldn’t just look at her face alone, and I wouldn’t want to make her unhappy, so it’s possible that you gave her another bouquet of flowers. Well, see you after graduation, Hachiman.”

”I live in Chiba.”

As she said this, Haruno had already followed the female teacher out of store, leaving only her beautiful back.

”.....” What do you mean by calling his name Hachiman?

Only then did he realize that Yukinoshita’s sister was truly different from the others.

’It should be said that girl looks pleasing in all aspects, but it is all under control of the other party. What a terrible person. According to her, her former junior high school recommended her to come to this school... Then she refused. But if she entered, maybe things would be different. If she was in Class B, then Horikita Manabu from A would also find it very difficult...Well, there is no point in fantasizing about what ifs or what nots because we all live in the present.....’ So, Hikigaya-kun watched Miss Haruno’s back moving in an elegant manner, seems to be quite....

It’s really sinful.

He quickly moved his gaze away.

Haruno also came to the school gate under gaze of the female teacher, ”Thank you for your help.”

”It’s okay.” The female teacher nodded, confirmed that Haruno had left campus, and then walked back.

While elder Yukinoshita herself walked to Teacher Shizuka’s car, ”Sorry, I kept you waiting for a long time.”

She sat in co-pilot seat.

Or rather, Hiratsuka-sensei drove here today in her luxury car, which only had two seats.

”So, is your temptation over?” Shizuka put her left hand on the steering wheel.

Haruno, on the other hand, was staring at bouquet of flowers on the rack behind windshield.

It can be seen that Shizuka is in a good mood.

It turns out that being given flowers by opposite sex really makes her feel good, even though it’s same person.

”It’s over----20 million in cash. Got an agreement from Hikigaya-kun. Twenty million! All the pocket money I’ve had over the years is gone.” Haruno after deed is down, now actually sighed as if life is not easy.

”Hehe~ That guy’s goal is to become a househusband, and he seems to have been working hard to do so, but he is trying to adapt and use rules of this school. Make money. It’s just so that he doesn’t have to be a social animal in the future.”

It can be seen that Shizuka’s appetite was even larger after receiving the flowers, she only just noticed good qualities.

But Haruno didn’t react.

’If this is what Hikigaya-kun thinks, then there is a possibility that he will marry you, Shizuka, who has always wanted to get married. Because your ideas about choosing a partner are compatible with each other. Shizuka’s family is well-off, and she herself has ”assets.” She likes students very much, so she chose to be a teacher and will probably continue to do so in the future. If that happens, you will definitely not be able to take care of family.... So, she is destined not to be a housewife, and might be happy to have a househusband. Shizuka-chan, you really have no idea at all? I feel very doubtful.....!’

For some reason, Haruno did not recommend him to Shizuka-chan at this time, ”I’m so hungry....! Let’s go and eat~”
