COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”O I •”

Keeping results of this special exam in mind, Hikigaya-kun finally had time to complain, ”Why did you suddenly call my name?”

”Is it not possible?” Sakayanagi looked at him deeply with a normal face as if not a big issue, ”Hachiman-kun.”

This caused him to make eye contact with her.

This also made Hikigaya-kun start thinking.

’Sakayanagi is student council president, and I am vice-president, nominated by other party. In a way, I was promoted by her....At the same time, she also retained her minor position as Discipline Committee member for Karuizawa. In other words, not only did she take care of me, but she also took care of puppy. Sometimes she would give me money and treat to a meal. It seems like we have a pretty good relationship.’

”It should be possible, but it always feels weird,” Hikigaya-kun said honestly even more calm than Sakayanagi herself, ”Because I don’t have much experience of being called by my name. Only my family and close friends call me that.”

”Then can I call you that?”

”...” Hikigaya Hachiman. ”Okay.”

”Yeah.” Sakayanagi immediately looked good, ”Then it will be up to you to announce the exam results to students. Hachiman... no, Hikigaya-kun.”

”Good. Good.”

Hikigaya-kun heaved a sigh of relief when he heard Sakayanagi change the address back, and since it was a good result, it was okay for him to make the announcement.

The school-wide radio sounded.

”The bell for clearing the school has rung, and all guests have left.”

”The sales of each class have been calculated. Now we will announce for each class in this cultural festival.”

After hearing voice on radio, the students who were still tidying up booths of various projects in the school immediately began to pay attention.

”First, I’m going to announce 1st to 4th place classes that received 300 points in evaluation. They are first-year class A, second-year class B, second-year class A, and second-year class C------”

”Then class evaluation score of 200 points is Grade 3 Class A, and Grade 1 Class D...”

The radio is playing.

Isn’t it for current result that you have worked so hard for?

”First place!”

”Done it!”

There were cheers coming from the gymnasium. They were first-year students in Class A who were still obediently clearing the chairs and stage in gymnasium.

”My points were worth it!”

”Ah....30,000 now gone.”

”I will miss bein----”

”But....But Ichika-sama will take our money, right?”

”Stupid, it’s just a little amount. Don’t you have any intention towards our Kaiju in secret?!”

”K-Kaiju, what do you mean Kaiju!-”

”I made those sweet buns! Class 2-A~!”

”Hey, are you the cook? I ate your buns a lot~ It was delicious.”

Compared with students in Class A of Grade 1 whose results have already been released, others are also waiting.

.....Also had some metaphysical expectations.

”Don’t be the last one, don’t be the last one!”

”I don’t want to be owed----”

The cultural festival ended. Although many students had a lot of fun during the day, some met their relatives and felt very refreshed, and they also watched performances.

It makes people feel like this is a real cultural festival.

But as guests left, faculty and staff of the shopping street returned to corporate-govt jobs, realized this was a classroom where strength was paramount.

Ah, can’t let your guard down so easily.

Especially here in Grade 2 Class D.

Finally someone reacted.

Now in Grade 2, 3 classes have made it into top four.

So where will your class be assigned?

Or say....

People in Suzune’s class thought before they might not be able to win, but now...is this going to be last one?

Compared with 2nd graders, 3rd graders are much more rational.

”This time our investment was insufficient, but we didn’t join forces with 3rd-year Class C. However, this time Asahina and others gave points to 3rd-year Class D and asked them to create sales for them....”

”The final ranking was same as ours, so they lost extra points. It was their mistake.”

The Kiriyama class was reflecting.

”So should we join forces with Class 3-C, Kiriyama?”

Now all 3rd graders know that Class D has been bought by Class 3-A.

Now if Kiriyama and his friends want to continue struggling, they will be fighting one against two, and there is also Class 3-C watching covetously.

This is quite disadvantageous.

”Let’s join forces. Though Class C still has ambitions, there is only half a year left, and will definitely not be able to catch up.”

Therefore, alliance still represents advantage of their class.

The entire 3rd grade, which had been ruled by Nagumo, was officially split into two camps here.

A real struggle ensued.

The radio is still playing the results.

But there was still no information about Class B of Grade 1. This made students feel a little oppressed.

”There’s no way we’ll be the last one.”

In Class 1-B, Utomiya frowned.

”But it probably won’t get a very high score,” Tsubaki Sakurako, a student with short orange hair didn’t care about Utomiya’s face at all, ”Today’s seniors were very impressive, and they even helped Class 1-D. It’s certain that Class 1-A and them have teamed up.”

Everyone has discovered this.

Because before start of the cultural festival, Class 1-D began to collect protection fees from each class and was willing to be at the bottom.

According to exam rules, bottom two students will have 300 points deducted from their class evaluation score.

This punishment is too harsh and no class wants to face it.

But there is one exception, and that is Class D in Grade 1.

After Hosen left, they did not have much potential and class evaluation score was only 30 points.

So it’s good news for everyone that they’re willing to be at the bottom.

But if you bribe a class and make it the last, there will be a point deduction.

If other party also demands to add 4 million.

So, one class will have to spend 8 million yen on this exam. This cost is too high and no one wants to afford it.

If everyone agrees to blackmail of Class D of Grade 1, then such uneducated bastards will also earn 40 million.

Hello, hello, hello.

This way, there is no need for class competition, and Class D of first grade can become rich because of this.

The rewards for this cultural festival are very rich, and evaluation standard is only the sales volume, which has nothing to do with academic ability or motor nerves.

Therefore, some lower-ranked classes also feel they will not lose.

So, this time was different from uninhabited island exam, no class was willing to pay.

But many classes also think that Class D in first grade will be at bottom.

After all, without Hosen, they did nothing in the preparations for cultural festival some time ago.

Only two dining trucks were requested from school.

They were not favored and just leapt forward.

Got fifth place.

This is terrifying.

This means that if Class D in first grade is not at the bottom, then now a normal class will be pulled down into the mud....

”Come to think of it.” Utomiya looked at Isshiki Iroha who had nothing much to do here, and was eating, laughing going here, there, ”Did Hikigaya-senpai not contact you at all during this cultural festival?”

”...Hmm. Although I want to help, it seems that they don’t need it.” Isshiki used a lame but verified excuse to escape from scrutiny.

So, girl just normally had to contribute a standing ticket to watch the show.

”Hey, but now Class 1-D can come up, which means that people are being used by Class 1-A. Although Hosen has left, it stands to reason that other individuals with ability have now become a tool class and weapon.”

”So, it’s like they are making wedding dresses for Amasawa-san.”

Utomiya frowned, feeling very pressured by her outrageous words, ”Can you talk like a normal person?”

”...O + !”

Because they were originally students in Class C, although they had climbed up, as expected, in terms of overall strength, had no advantage, and was even at a loss in terms of cheaters.

”Gyutaro, Daki, Issie Hyodou, Nanase. These are some of the people we need to look out for.”

Now can confirm that Class A is very strong, and it is also tied to Class D.

Stronger and stronger.

They watched as Hosen was expelled from the school, but they could only watch as class under his control was taken away by A.

Not only did they not get any benefits, but now even have to worry about class’s ranking in this special exam.

”That’s——”

”Hey, is he being harassed?”

”I don’t know... it’s like throwing out.”

A few people were talking and waiting for announcement of the final two places.

As a result, Tsubaki Sakurako suddenly looked away in a certain direction.

Utomiya also saw it.

Several adults were escorting a young boy past them.

But teenager being escorted was an acquaintance. It’s Yagami Takuya.

”Please don’t come over here!”

However, Mr. Mashima, head teacher of Class A, Grade 2, who was covering his cheek with his left hand, was also in the escort team.

He noticed that a student was looking at him curiously, so he said, ”This boy is now prone to violent attacks.”

”We can only rely on these security controls now.”

”Fuck you! I want to fight----Ayan--Mmmmh!”

Violent tendencies.

Security control?

Utomiya himself is a good fighter, and a big reason why he got assigned to a lower class is because of his past fighting record.

Then he looked at the three security guards escorting Yagami.

By the way, are there such burly security guards in school?

Gives him a sense of danger.

”...So he’s going to be expelled from school?” Isshiki asked in a sweet voice from particularly no one.

”O O” Utomiya thought it shouldn’t be asked from an open atmosphere with a smile on your face.

Their class didn’t gain any advantage in this exam.

If something happens to Yagami... then it would be really good.
