Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 793: Chapter 492: Night Falls Again (5,100 words)

As soon as Li Wenxi returned to the treehouse, she went to take a shower because she was really sweating back there.

Xu Xin, on the other hand, immediately contacted Lou Fei’Er.

It took about a dozen seconds before the other side picked up the phone, ”...Hello? Xu Xin? Is something the matter?”

Her voice clearly still had a sleepy tone, and it sounded a bit lazy.

”Are you not up yet?”

”Mmm... last night, Zeng Tao and I stayed up late, and I’ve only slept for four hours...” As she spoke, her voice grew smaller, as if she was about to drift off again.

Staying up late, what could be done?

”Alright, stop sleeping, wake up.” Xu Xin mercilessly woke her up, ”Eat a blue-grade orange to refresh yourself, something’s not right now.”

”Ugh... okay...” Lou Fei’Er agreed verbally but still lay there with her head on the pillow, eyes closed, making her voice sound like she was already up, ”Is something going on?”

”... I’ll come over now. Remember not to look at the sun outside, and do not go out.”

”Huh?”

Xu Xin directly hung up the call and simultaneously contacted Ma Hongwei.

”What’s up, Brother Xin?”

On Ma Hongwei’s side, there seemed to be no issue. Judging by his tone, it seemed he had been up for a while.

”You got nothing this morning?” Xu Xin asked directly.

”What? How would I have anything?” Ma Hongwei seemed a bit puzzled, ”I just had breakfast and was about to continue my research.”

”...?” Xu Xin was slightly surprised and briefly informed him of the current situation.

”Ah? This...”

Ma Hongwei was quite astonished upon learning about the current sunlight condition.

He didn’t have the habit of looking out the window when he got up, and his treehouse had the curtains drawn, so he didn’t know what the sunlight was like outside.

”Curtains?” Xu Xin was slightly taken aback.

”New resources appeared in the points mall last night, something called ’Sunshade Curtains,’ seemingly not very useful, and they obstructed the view from the treehouse. But personally, I don’t like bright sunlight. Plus, there’s a control panel to observe the surroundings, so I equipped my treehouse with them.”

... So such things appeared in the points mall yesterday!

”Called sunshade curtains, they don’t really block out the sun; they just keep the treehouse from being too bright,” Ma Hongwei explained.

How could one say it doesn’t block the sun? It’s a godsend now!

At least, it ensures the treehouse won’t be harmed.

He had been a bit worried about how sunlight would stream in through the windows, but it turned out the mall had already provided a solution.

The price was not high either; the ’Sunshade Curtains’ for one window only cost 50 points.

Quite a bargain.

It looks like his treehouse needs to be fully equipped as well.

”Alright, I got it. Oh, by the way!”

Xu Xin suddenly remembered, Ma Hongwei’s treehouse didn’t have temperature control!

It was just that he personally wasn’t afraid of high temperatures and chose to stay in his treehouse.

”Last night, was there anything unusual on your side?”

”Last night? Uh...probably not?” Ma Hongwei’s voice had a slight hesitancy.

”Probably?”

”Mm... If there is something odd, it’s that when I got up this morning, my whole bed was soaked with my sweat.” Ma Hongwei’s voice carried slight puzzlement, ”Logically, around forty degrees should be nothing to me; I shouldn’t be experiencing this.”

Being a very cautious person, he paid close attention to these seemingly insignificant but somewhat strange phenomena.

”But maybe I’m overthinking it; perhaps it’s the meat you gave me yesterday, Brother Xin. Since it can make me stronger, having a faster metabolism seems normal.”

He gave an explanation for his anomaly.

Xu Xin squinted his eyes slightly.

This was another piece of evidence.

The conditions of Li Yajun and Ma Hongwei both pointed towards an unusual high-temperature condition last night.

Looks like it’s unmistakable.

”Understood, continue with your work but don’t look at the sun out of curiosity. If you must go out, remember to cover yourself well.”

”Got it, Brother Xin.”

Hanging up the call, Xu Xin saw Li Wenxi coming out of the bathroom, wiping her hair with a towel.

”I’ll head over to Lou Fei’Er’s place to inform them of the current situation.”

”Oh, alright then... you go yourself.” Li Wenxi pointed downstairs, ”I’ll go downstairs to check on their situation.”

Her people are living downstairs now, so she naturally needs to take a look.

”Alright.”

Just as Xu Xin was about to leave, Keke suddenly ran over and climbed onto his shoulder, ”Ying!”

”Keke, stay in the treehouse; you can’t handle the sunlight outside.” Xu Xin picked Keke up by the scruff and tossed it onto the sofa.

”Ying! Yingying!” Keke stood on the sofa and complained twice, then patted its chest with its little paws, ”Ying!”

It was telling Xu Xin that the sunlight outside wouldn’t harm it.

”Oh?” Xu Xin looked at Keke.

It indeed seemed so.

It was covered in brown and white fur, after all.

Unlike humans, with their skin exposed to direct sunlight, Keke’s fur should protect it from the sun’s harm.

”Alright then.”

Xu Xin wrapped himself up tightly, then swung out of the treehouse with Keke.
