Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 788: Chapter 490: The Double Torment of Toxic Sunlight and High Temperatures! (4600 words)_2

”But now...”

She turned her head to Xu Xin: ”Did you just try to call me? Although my watch couldn’t receive it, the treehouse should have been able to, right?”

Xu Xin furrowed his brow as well and immediately sent a voice call to Li Wenxi’s treehouse.

Still, no one answered.

”Could something have happened?” Li Wenxi was very worried, ”Let’s go check it out!”

”Okay.”

Xu Xin immediately bought some gloves, masks, sunglasses, etc., from the points shop, wrapping himself up tightly.

”Do you want to come with me?” he asked in a muffled voice.

”Of course!”

Xu Xin put her into the wristband, then swung down from the treehouse.

The sun had already risen completely over the horizon.

”Hiss—”

Xu Xin withdrew his instinctive gaze from the sun’s position, tightly closing his eyes.

He felt a fierce burning sensation in his eyes!

Enduring the pain, he squinted slightly, his vision already blurred and bloodshot, a reddish blur.

This...!

Even though he glanced by accident, he was wearing sunglasses!

The sunglasses were completely ineffective!

Blurred vision was a big problem, so he had no choice but to close his eyes again, and fumble for a pill from his backpack to heal his eyes first.

...If someone without pills were in this situation, their eyes might be impaired for some time in the future.

Now, he truly felt the terrifying power of this sunlight.

It was impossible to guard against!

The cost of trial and error was too high!

Moreover, the current survivors couldn’t communicate with the outside world, and those who knew the situation couldn’t inform others of the circumstances.

So, basically, everyone had to get hurt to understand the sun’s power.

He, Ji Chaoyang, and Qi Xuefei all suffered rather severe injuries.

But... most other survivors didn’t have such powerful pills!

This was just ludicrous.

Xu Xin immediately went back to the treehouse to wake up Niu Fugui, who was still sleeping heavily, and told him the current situation, instructing him to warn others not to recklessly look at the sun when they got up.

”Don’t worry, Brother Xin!” Niu Fugui, although very surprised, still pounded his chest, indicating he would take care of it.

Exiting the treehouse once again, he didn’t waste any time, lowering his head as he dashed to the coordinates, activating the portal to step through, and directly transported to the vicinity of Li Wenxi’s treehouse.

Then, he immediately ran into the shadow beneath the treehouse, ensuring he wasn’t exposed to sunlight, before releasing Li Wenxi from the wristband.

”What took you so long!” Li Wenxi, anxious inside the wristband, came out and playfully punched Xu Xin, then waved her hand, ”It’s so hot!”

Of course, it was hot outside. Even now, at a relatively cooler time of the day, the temperature was still around 45 or 46 degrees.

Seeing Li Wenxi instinctively looking towards the sunrise horizon, Xu Xin quickly reached out to turn her head away: ”Don’t look over there! I looked with sunglasses, and my eyes got burned.”

”Ah?” Li Wenxi was startled, hastily checking his eyes, ”Are you okay?”

”I’m fine, I took a pill.” Xu Xin saw sweat beginning to form on her temple and said, ”Let’s get upstairs quickly.”

He couldn’t operate Li Wenxi’s treehouse, so he had to let her take him up.

”Oh, okay!”

The roots extended down, lifting both of them into the treehouse.

The temperature inside the treehouse was not much different from outside, equally hot.

”Huh? Why is it so hot inside, where’s Yajun?” Li Wenxi panicked slightly and called out, ”Yajun! Are you there?”

But no one responded.

”Probably in your bedroom?” Xu Xin pointed to the tightly closed bedroom door.

Blue-level saltpeter struggled to maintain the temperature of the entire treehouse, but it shouldn’t be an issue for a small bedroom.

Li Wenxi immediately ran over and pushed the door open: ”Yajun? Ah!”

Xu Xin wanted to follow her in, but Li Wenxi shouted, ”You’re not allowed in!”

Then with a ”bang,” she slammed the door shut.

Hmm?

What’s going on?

Ah, Li Yajun must be sleeping inside.

Wait?

That doesn’t seem right.

When the door opened just now, there didn’t appear to be any cool air coming out.

The bedroom temperature was almost the same as outside.

Inside, behind the closed door, Li Wenxi’s voice also came, ”Yajun? Yajun! Wake up!”

She called for a while, but Li Yajun didn’t seem to wake up.

...?

”What’s going on inside?” Xu Xin immediately asked.

”Yajun seems to be unconscious! Hold on a second!”

There was a rustling sound from inside, and after about ten seconds, Li Wenxi’s voice called, ”You can come in now.”

Xu Xin pushed the door open and saw Li Yajun being supported by Li Wenxi to sit up.

The clothes on her should have just been changed by Li Wenxi.

Her face was flushed red, drenched in sweat, and her brow was furrowed, clearly showing signs of heatstroke.

However, her complexion was visibly improving to the naked eye.

”I gave her a pill, she should be fine soon.” Li Wenxi’s tone was noticeably lighter, albeit a bit annoyed, ”What’s up with Yajun! Didn’t she use the saltpeter to cool down?”

Xu Xin pointed to the other side of the bed, ”She did.”

Beside the bed was a basin of somewhat muddy water.

Moreover, in Xu Xin’s eyes, the water was emitting a blue glow.

He reached in to test it.

As expected, it was water from dissolved blue-level saltpeter.
