Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 770: Chapter 484 Where... Did the Head Go? (4900 words)_2

Lou Fei’Er shook her head: ”No head, nothing around. It should really be gone; otherwise, it would be impossible to not see it.”

Everywhere was barren jungle; such a large head, even if it flew a thousand meters, it would still be visible.

Not to mention, despite the explosion’s power, it’s basically impossible for such a big head to be blasted that far.

This really defies all logic!

”...That giant, did we not manage to kill it?” Li Wenxi tentatively said, ”Its head... ran away on its own?”

She voiced the unspoken thoughts of those present.

But...

How could the head run away on its own?!

Did it roll away under the cover of that mushroom cloud just now?!

No way...?

The body was blown to pieces; could it still not be dead?

”I’ve always felt it shouldn’t die that easily,” Ma Hongwei then spoke up, ”That big guy was much stronger than us, even if we...”

He pointed to himself and Lou Fei’Er: ”Even if we can have a chance at resurrection when near death, how could that giant not?”

Lou Fei’Er felt it wasn’t necessarily the case: ”Maybe it was just blown up? We can revive because we are special; look at those ordinary mutated creatures, they can’t revive either.”

”But don’t you think...” Ma Hongwei glanced outside, ”That big guy, he’s just... a bit bigger, skin a bit greener, looks a bit uglier. If you insist on describing him, isn’t he just a... big mutant giant human? There’s not even any fur on it, completely different from those furry freaks; instead... a bit like us.”

...What he said does make sense.

It made so much sense that everyone around fell silent.

Even Xu Xin hadn’t thought of this aspect. Hearing Ma Hongwei’s words, he even felt a chill.

A map appeared in his mind.

There were no bright red dots around.

”Wait...” He suddenly thought of something.

The excitement of killing the giant just now made him forget one thing.

Previously, during the jungle hunting activity and all activities since then, whenever he battled mutated creatures, he had a method to verify a creature’s death.

Points!

As long as the prey was killed, a prompt would appear in his mind: [Killed XXX, gained points: XX].

But this time...

Nothing!

There was indeed nothing this time!

Those who participated in the attack this time, Lou Fei’Er, Ma Hongwei, Zeng Tao, and others, were all contracted to him. Logically, even if it wasn’t him who used a massive weapon to kill the giant, the points should still be his.

But there were none!

The giant isn’t counted for points?

That’s impossible, right?

”...The giant might really not be dead.” Xu Xin’s face suddenly looked much darker.

He told everyone else what he had just thought of.

”This...”

Everyone around fell silent once more.

The Blood Pattern Giant, in high probability, truly wasn’t dead!

Its head ran away by itself!

Or... was it taken away by someone?

It sounds absurd that the head could be taken away, but in fact, Lou Fei’Er and the others had just directly brought back the giant’s body!

Although a backpack can’t store living things, as long as you have tools that can contain living things, like his wristband...

Damn it, he could hardly imagine!

What the hell is going on!

He took a deep breath to calm his emotions.

Worrying now is not a solution.

The only thing they can do now is to strengthen themselves.

Yes, once this heat wave passes, he must make another trip to the Hilly Resource Zone.

”Ma Hongwei, go back and continue developing your crossbow. Your results are our explorers’ greatest reliance now. Also, restock the bolts we used up this time.”

If it wasn’t for his crossbow, they could have died in the hands of the giant today.

”Okay, I’m going back, Brother Xin.”

Today, Ma Hongwei witnessed the power of his handmade crossbow, and now he was suppressing a bit of excitement inside.

Although they might not have killed the giant, at least they blew it to pieces!

He was full of energy now and didn’t linger, heading straight back to his treehouse.

”Jin Yue is still outside, right? Go check around with her, see if there’s anything noteworthy in the area.”

”Okay.” Lou Fei’Er nodded, then was lowered from the treehouse by Xu Xin.

Li Wenxi was now informing Li Yajun and Niu Fugui of the current situation.

The two had also shaken off their initial excitement, their expressions gradually becoming worried.

Xu Xin walked over, speaking up: ”You guys, don’t share this with anyone else, don’t cause unnecessary panic.”

Saying that, he lightly patted Li Wenxi’s head.

”Uhh...” Li Wenxi realized she hadn’t acted appropriately, feeling a bit apologetic, ”I’m sorry, they won’t tell.”

”Don’t worry, Brother Xin, I can keep a tight lip.” Niu Fugui patted his chest.

”...If that giant can recover, will it come back to seek revenge?” Li Yajun, compared to Niu Fugui, was significantly more worried and said with slight panic.

”It won’t, it won’t.” Li Wenxi thought for a moment and instinctively shrank her neck, quickly waving her hand, ”Even if it isn’t dead, it’s just a head left, there’s no way a whole body could regrow so quickly, right? Plus, we’re so strong, if it had any sense, it wouldn’t come back to find us again, otherwise, it’d just get blown to pieces once more!”
