Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 784: Chapter 489: Information Isolation! (4500 words)

Xu Xin’s mind was still in a half-asleep state, a bit confused: ”...Lost contact with the outside world?”

”For some reason, now, I can only communicate with you and the survivors residing in my treehouse. Even with those few on that side, I can no longer contact them through the treehouse system.”

...?

What?

Ah?!

Xu Xin instantly woke up and sat up on the bed: ”Only able to contact me?”

”Mm...” Beside him, Li Wenxi turned over, showing her white back and hips to him, continuing to sleep.

”That’s right, quickly figure out your situation over there. I’ll also try again and contact you later.”

With that, Ji Chaoyang ended the call.

Xu Xin hurriedly activated the projection on his watch.

The first thing he saw was several channels that had completely gone grey.

[World Channel], [Alliance Channel], [Regional Channel], the three major channels had all turned completely grey, and he couldn’t even click into them.

This...!

This situation was unprecedented ever since the regional channel was opened!

Previously, there were indeed situations where communication was impossible, but that was because they were in a rather special location with poor watch signal, causing it to be isolated from the treehouse system and be unable to receive information.

Moreover, at that time, the channels could be opened; it was simply a matter of poor signal reception only.

This is completely different from the current situation.

Now it seemed as if the entire channel had been disabled!

He immediately got up and looked out the window.

It’s only five o’clock now, but it’s already bright outside.

The daytime now is indeed quite long.

”This...”

Seeing the lush green jungle outside, Xu Xin was a little surprised.

Jungle... has recovered?

Yesterday, under the scorching sun, the bare trees and newly sprouted buds on the ground were directly dried to death, so when the night fell yesterday, the jungle was still bare.

But now, the jungle had already displayed a flourishing scene.

Moreover, because these are new sprouts, compared to the previously darker green of the jungle, now it was a fresh new green, which was rather pleasant to the eyes.

It’s just that the view was mostly obstructed by the dense canopies.

”Yawn...?” Keke was woken up by Xu Xin’s actions, got up, and rubbed her eyes with her small paws.

”Keke, is there any danger around now?” Xu Xin directly picked up Keke and went to the window to ask.

”...Yawn?” Keke’s just-awakened little head couldn’t process it for a moment, and after being dazed briefly, she shook her head, ”Yawn.”

He relaxed slightly.

At least there was no danger around the treehouse now.

”Mm...? What’s going on?” Li Wenxi was also woken by him, slightly opening her eyes, ”Is it time to get up...?”

”It’s nothing, just five o’clock. You can sleep a bit more.”

”Mm...” Upon hearing his words, Li Wenxi closed her eyes again.

Keke also went back to the head of the bed to sleep.

Xu Xin, having dressed, ran into the living room.

Silver King Mimi and the others were still sleeping. Seeing Xu Xin approach, they merely lifted their eyes before continuing to sleep.

He immediately opened the treehouse screen.

After all, the previously discovered problem might just be the issue on the watch; perhaps the treehouse’s own system would not encounter any problems.

But disappointingly, even the treehouse’s own system showed all three major channels greyed out.

He immediately checked the private messages.

No wonder Ji Chaoyang said he could only contact him.

Most of the names in his private messages had dimmed.

They hadn’t turned grey but had dulled in color.

He tried clicking on these dimmed names to send private messages, but there was no response.

However, some names were still lit up.

Lou Fei’Er, Ma Hongwei, Zeng Tao, Qin Fu, Jin Yue, and the people residing with Ma Hongwei were still reachable.

Besides them, only two people’s names were fully lit up and contactable.

One was Ji Chaoyang, and the other was Li Wenxi.

He had a slight realization.

The reason he could contact these two might be because their treehouses were very close to his.

The distance between their treehouses and his was about twenty kilometers, making them the nearest neighbors in the area.

Perhaps it was precisely because of this proximity that he could contact them.

Xu Xin returned to the bedroom, pinching Li Wenxi’s cheek to wake her up.

”Mm... What are you doing...!”

She sat up, still drowsy, leaning into Xu Xin’s embrace, trying to fall asleep again.

”Get up, the sun is shining overhead. Besides, something happened.”

”...Something happened?” Li Wenxi suddenly became much more awake, her eyes opening wide as she looked at him.

Xu Xin briefly explained the situation to her, then initiated a voice call face-to-face.

”This kind of thing actually happens?!” She was fully awake, looking out the window, ”Why? Because it’s too hot, the signal was burned out?”

However, what puzzled both of them was that while Xu Xin’s voice call was indeed connected, Li Wenxi’s watch did not vibrate, nor did it receive any notification.

They exchanged puzzled glances.

What is this situation?

Li Wenxi raised her hand to swipe her watch, projecting outwards.

”Ah? This...” She widened her eyes, staring at the projection.

”...So that’s how it is.”
