Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 759: Chapter 480: Don’t Go to the 3rd Floor for No Reason (5300 Words)_3

”Do you need to cool down the treehouse?”

”Huh? Is that possible?” Lou Fei’Er replied with some surprise, ”Is it... with that, the niter to cool it down?”

She was also a member of the [Explorers] group, so she knew about niter.

”Aren’t you not afraid of heat?”

”I’m not afraid, but it’s not comfortable either,” Lou Fei’Er said lazily, ”It’s so hot I’m not motivated to do anything...”

Indeed.

He recalled how the Silver King and Mimi behaved in the heat.

Both would lie on the ground, too lazy to move.

Of course, this didn’t affect their activities; after all, he had just ridden Silver King to the niter cave, and though Silver King was panting to cool down, it didn’t exhibit any other unusual behavior.

”But if resources are scarce, don’t worry about me. I’m fine over here.”

She was quite considerate.

”I’ll give you a blue-grade niter...” Xu Xin explained how to use the blue-grade niter to Lou Fei’Er, ”Return it when you’re done; I only have the one piece.”

Her treehouse also had the [Temperature Control] ability, but since the temperature had risen before acquiring it, the interior was still hot.

She just needed to lower the temperature a bit.

”Love you to bits!”

Lou Fei’Er immediately cooled down her treehouse.

Xu Xin also called Ma Hongwei and Zeng Tao.

Because Ma Hongwei had blue-grade niter from when he made crossbow arrows, although he said he didn’t care, his subordinates were struggling.

”Let them come to my treehouse. You should come too,” Xu Xin said.

Ma Hongwei’s treehouse lacked the temperature control ability, so it must be very hot now.

But he didn’t come; he wanted to continue researching heavy crossbows.

His subordinates soon arrived at Xu Xin’s place.

Altogether there were eight people, but Xu Xin didn’t let them go to the living area on the third floor. He allocated a few rooms for them in the extended area on the first floor, making beds and simple furniture.

”For now, you guys sleep here.”

”Got it, Brother Xin!”

”Alright, Brother Xin!”

These people were very satisfied.

Xu Xin then returned to the third floor.

Speaking of the banyan tree extension area below, the banyan tree outside his treehouse had been excavated many times during this period.

With the help of the banyan tree, they had expanded the treehouse’s size for all exploratory members by two floors.

His current extension area had grown from initially a hundred square meters to now a hundred and eighty square meters.

The area nearly doubled!

He hadn’t paid much attention earlier, but now it seemed like it had grown so much again!

When Li Wenxi returns with the mining survivalists, they should live underneath.

The space was large enough, and it was safe there. Most importantly, residing there meant they wouldn’t need to use niter constantly to adjust treehouse temperatures.

Saves some resources.

He called Li Wenxi and shared his thoughts.

”Great!” Li Wenxi promptly informed the others, who were all very excited.

After all, they were moving into Xu Xin’s treehouse, the world’s strongest big shot’s treehouse!

Then he contacted other members of the explorers, recommending this method.

So Qi Xuefei temporarily halted her medication cultivation and took people to Ji Chaoyang’s place, leaving two people to guard their home, exchanging two-hour shifts.

They had to keep an eye on their treehouse, but in this hot weather, two hours was enough to get one dizzy despite having fans, so shifts were necessary.

Qin Yunlong and Qin Yunhu followed suit, one went to Wang Lei’s place and the other to Zhao Xiaochuan’s, similarly leaving someone to keep watch.

Thus, the temperature control issue for Li Wenxi, Qi Xuefei, Qin Yunlong, and Qin Yunhu’s treehouses was resolved.

The survivalists who joined their explorers also lived in comfortable quarters, although the downside was these survivors without watches couldn’t communicate with the outside world via the treehouse screen.

But gathered together, they didn’t feel lonely, and instead, were quite happy.

Especially thinking about others still enduring the heat while they chat in the ”cooling room,” they felt even happier.

Some even brought stone-carved mahjong and poker from before, and really began enjoying themselves.

One hour later, Li Wenxi also arrived with people.

”No more mining, no more; efficiency is too low. Better to sort out their accommodations first!”

Unlike Ma Hongwei’s all-male subordinates, Li Wenxi had some women among his group. For convenience, Xu Xin arranged men including Le Youfang and Niu Fugui on the first floor, and placed women like Li Yajun separately on the second floor.

Then, he returned to the third floor with Li Wenxi.

”You guys, make sure you don’t come up to the third floor without reason!”

Li Wenxi shouted down.

”Even if you beat us to death, we won’t come up, Boss!”

”Don’t worry, Wenxi, no matter what we hear, we won’t go up!”

”Shut up, you guys!” Li Wenxi laughed and cursed, closing the door, then flopping onto the sofa, ”Ah, it’s much cooler here! I just tried the blue-grade niter in the treehouse, and the effect was awful!”

”Not cooling down?” Xu Xin came over to sit, asking.

”Yeah,” Li Wenxi sat up, ”Blue-grade niter only cools a very small area, plus, it consumes much faster than normal! Using green-grade niter might need over a dozen pieces to be effective, and require very frequent replacement.”

”Your niter...?”

”Only more than three thousand green-grade and fifteen blue-grade pieces have been mined so far,” Li Wenxi shook her head, ”It hasn’t decreasing, but the efficiency hasn’t increased either.”

It seemed the plan to use niter to help others needed to be paused temporarily.

They had to keep the raw materials for explosives in case of a crisis.

Fortunately, people in District 188 had enough points, buying a 100-point fan was no problem; enduring the heat for a while shouldn’t be difficult.

”Alright, now we can relax.” Xu Xin leaned back on the sofa, turning to Li Wenxi with a smile.

”Haha, nothing’s better than napping in an air-conditioned room in summer!” Li Wenxi tugged at her collar, sniffing, ”Is there any water? I’m itching to shower.”

”Sure.”

Xu Xin immediately turned his wristband, pulled out a backpack, then took out a large bucket filled with water.

Although the lower pool had dried up, and the pump wasn’t working, leaving no automatic shower, they could soak directly.

Since the water was drawn from outside, it was naturally warm.

Sitting on the sofa, listening to intermittent sounds of splashing and singing come from the bathroom, Xu Xin absently stroked Keke on the armrest, who was dozing again, and began to feel a bit drowsy himself.

Really hoping today passes uneventfully.

Then, his watch vibrated.

He raised his hand to look, suddenly wide awake.

Shi Wanyun!

She’s back?
