Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 769: Chapter 484: Where Did the Head... Go? (4,900 words)

Despite the purple-level backpack weighing only one-fiftieth of the weight, Lou Fei’Er still had some trouble moving the giant corpse.

Zeng Tao had already lost her strength, so she asked Ma Hongwei to come and help clean up.

Ma Hongwei had enhanced strength capabilities; although he hadn’t ascended to mid-level mutation, his sheer strength was much greater than Lou Fei’Er’s.

As for the others, they were already too hot to come out of the treehouse.

If it weren’t so hot, Xu Xin would surely come out to handle it himself.

The explosion fragmented the giant’s body, with some parts blown hundreds of meters away.

The two had expended great effort to gather the remaining parts at the explosion site, walking to the main treehouse.

”This arm, it got blown over here?” Ma Hongwei now saw the massive green-skinned arm, covered in red bloodstains, before the main treehouse.

The bloodstains on the arm had now dimmed down, indicating that the arm had lost its life.

”Seems the giant, shattered to pieces by the explosion, can’t resurrect like we can,” Lou Fei’Er commented, punching the arm.

Even though it had lost life, the arm’s enormous muscles remained extraordinarily tough and solid.

”... That might not be certain,” Ma Hongwei glanced at her, about to ask something, when suddenly they were pulled up.

”Is everything cleaned up?” Xu Xin directly pulled the two to the first-floor position.

The expanded space on the first floor was half a cold storage, while the other half remained empty, perfect for cutting large-sized fragments.

At this moment, many people gathered around.

”Is this for dissecting the giant’s corpse?” One survivor quietly asked those around.

”Absolutely!” Everyone was very excited and all had their eyes widened, watching intently.

”I’m so excited! I actually get to observe the dissection of a giant up close!”

”It should yield purple-level materials, right?”

”Purple level? What’s that? Surely materials above the purple level!”

”Pardon my ignorance, above purple level... What level is that?”

”I don’t know either!” That person confidently said, ”But definitely above purple! Mid-level mutated creatures have a chance to yield purple, and this is a giant that’s dozens of meters tall!”

”Whoa! That big!”

Lou Fei’Er had already revealed the lower half of the giant, shocking everyone around, including Xu Xin.

Because the deadly weapon had directly pierced the giant’s chest and exploded there, the upper half was heavily damaged, while the body below the abdomen was relatively intact.

Seeing it from a few hundred meters away didn’t have this effect, but up close, it was unbelievably enormous!

Spread horizontally in the treehouse, it directly filled up more than half of it!

Just one foot was several times larger than a human!

People around drew closer to the giant, some starting to reach out to touch.

”This is incredible!”

”Brother Xin and the team really killed and brought back a giant!”

Although the giant’s bodily structure was similar to a human’s, the similar shape might make someone uncomfortable, this group showed no fear; both men and women had eyes filled with curiosity and excitement.

After all, they had survived in this world until now.

Anyone who would be afraid had already perished long ago.

”Alright, alright, don’t make it chaotic.” Xu Xin initially wanted to start dissecting but looking at this massive thing, he suddenly felt his small boning knife was very inadequate.

Moreover, as the people around said, this thing might yield gold-level materials, but...

His boning knife was only purple level!

His boning knife wasn’t the basic tool, unable to dissect and extract resources of a higher level.

This was somewhat frustrating...

He suddenly felt reluctant to dissect.

But...

Couldn’t just keep it all, right?

”Alright, alright, you’d better go back and play your mahjong!”

Li Wenxi also felt the crowd was too disruptive and quickly ushered them to one side.

Xu Xin shook his head with some frustration, then looked up to see Ma Hongwei’s furrowed brow.

Meanwhile, Lou Fei’Er leaned at the window, looking all around.

Jin Yue, at Lou Fei’Er’s request, had just jumped out the window of the treehouse to search for the scattered parts of the giant’s body nearby.

”What’s up, have you thought of something?” Xu Xin asked.

”Brother Xin.” Ma Hongwei pointed at the giant’s half body, then at the purple-level backpack, ”Both Lou Fei’Er and I didn’t find the giant’s head. Its head is missing.”

...?

The head is missing?

Xu Xin’s eyelid twitched.

Head couldn’t be found?

”Was it blown away?” Li Wenxi shut the door over there, pushing the others away, overhearing the two’s conversation, and turned back.

Ma Hongwei shook his head: ”That’s the head of the giant, such a large thing, even if blown far away, we couldn’t possibly miss it. I just asked Lou Fei’Er, we both thought the other person got the head, but... neither of us obtained it.”

”... Is it possible, the head was directly shattered?” Xu Xin speculated.

”There shouldn’t be such a possibility.” Ma Hongwei shook his head, ”At least, Lou Fei’Er and I didn’t find any fragments related to the head.”

This...

At this point, Lou Fei’Er also returned from scanning the surroundings.

”How’s it?” Xu Xin asked.
