Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 782: Chapter 488 Enhance Strength (4600 words)_2

Moreover, the consumption rate of blue-level saltpeter in temperatures around fifty to sixty degrees is very fast, requiring someone to replace a batch every one or two hours, and then dry the previous batch for future use.

Actually, this isn’t very troublesome, but the real trouble is that this only applies to noon.

The temperature at night is a completely different matter.

As the night temperature drops, the saltpeter’s effect becomes greater, causing the temperature in the herbal cultivation room to drop significantly, necessitating further control over the amount of saltpeter used.

After all, saltpeter is not an air conditioner; it cannot maintain a constant temperature.

Adding to the uncertainty of future temperature changes over the next few days, the situation might become even more troublesome.

Therefore, Qi Xuefei and those parasites over at her side have decided to temporarily abandon cultivation.

Anyway, the medicines she has, as long as they are not released into other areas, are enough for everyone in Area 188 for a long time, more than sufficient.

However, this leaves people in other areas in a difficult position.

Qi Xuefei has now halted the release of medicines to regions outside of Area 188 and Area 1, and even for Area 1, the supply on the alliance trading channel has been greatly reduced.

Now, the world chat is filled with cries of despair.

After all, the price of the low-grade healing medicine Qi Xuefei was selling has become increasingly fair, making it affordable for ordinary people just by gritting their teeth.

But now, they can’t buy it.

Especially during this hot summer phase, when it’s extremely easy to fall ill due to heatstroke from the high temperatures, the medicine is unavailable.

Xu Xin shook his head.

Now, people in the outer regions are truly having a hard time.

Let’s hope they’re not suffering too badly. They really can’t care for people outside their own area right now.

After ending the conversation with the explorers, Xu Xin called over Lou Fei’Er, Ma Hongwei, and Jin Yue, and also called up Zeng Tao who was mingling with other survivors below.

”What’s up, why did you call me? Ah, Wenxi, you’re here too.” Zeng Tao was the first to come up, casually sitting on the sofa beside Li Wenxi.

”Let’s wait until they’ve all arrived.”

Soon, everyone was here.

Xu Xin considered calling Qin Fu out from the second bedroom, but he was clearly in deep sleep and seemed unwell, so he decided against it.

Let him continue resting.

”Why did you call them all here?” Li Wenxi was also puzzled, tugging at Xu Xin’s clothes, ”You’re not planning to go out at night, are you? Didn’t you say it was dangerous?”

”Of course not.” Xu Xin smiled and then looked at the others, ”I called you here to enhance your abilities.”

As he spoke, he took out a piece of magical meat and placed it on the table.

”Hmm? Isn’t this the meat from that magical creature?” Li Wenxi was about to say something but noticed that the others were all staring at the piece of meat differently.

They seemed to see an extraordinary delicacy, their eyes wide open.

”...Is this really the magical meat?” Zeng Tao looked at the meat on the table, ready to drool, ”This... This meat smells so good, I feel like I could eat it raw...”

It wasn’t just her feeling.

Even Ma Hongwei, usually uninterested in crossbow research, had his eyes change.

Silver King and Mimi, who were originally lying in a corner, rushed over as soon as Xu Xin took out the meat, both staring at the meat.

”Ying... Ying?” Keke was startled awake by the commotion around her, and seeing so many people, she got a fright and quickly snuggled into Xu Xin’s arms.

”Does it taste that good?” Li Wenxi glanced at the meat, then turned to Xu Xin, ”I remember that we shouldn’t eat this meat, right?”

”Yes.” Xu Xin nodded, ”It’s poisonous to us but a huge nourishment for them. This magical meat can enhance your abilities; from now on, this will be your main food.”

”It can enhance our abilities?” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed, ”This meat can enhance abilities, like the Red Mist?”

Jin Yue stared intently at the meat, having a deep obsession with enhancing her abilities. Knowing that this seemingly delicious meat could enhance abilities made it hard for her to look away.

”And about the Red Mist, I’ve been wanting to ask you all.” Xu Xin looked at the group, ”You’ve all experienced the Red Mist, right? How fast do you feel your abilities are growing?”

”Uh...” Lou Fei’Er began, ”I’m currently at an intermediate mutation level; the Red Mist seems to no longer provide much substantial enhancement. While immersed in the Red Mist, I can feel an increase in strength, and my mind is relatively clearer, but once I leave the Red Mist, I return to my original state.”

”It still has some effect for me,” Zeng Tao chimed in, ”I feel a slight enhancement, but not much. It’s mostly like Lou Fei’Er said; you feel significant enhancement while inside.”

Jin Yue nodded in agreement: ”I’m the same as Zeng Tao.”

Xu Xin turned to look at Ma Hongwei.

Ma Hongwei gave a slightly embarrassed smile: ”I haven’t been to that room in a long time, always busy with crossbow research. I feel that personal abilities are much weaker compared to crossbows.”

Xu Xin shook his head: ”Personal abilities still need enhancement because you can’t ensure you’ll always be in the treehouse.”

For instance, in the underground world, even the strongest treehouse crossbow is useless.
