Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 787: Chapter 490: The Double Torment of Toxic Sunlight and High Temperatures! (4600 words)

Xu Xin began to ponder.

Just now, the sunlight on his hand felt like it was roasting his skin.

This wasn’t an exaggeration, but his real feeling.

Absolutely roasting!

The sensation was as if he would get sunburned if he stayed in the sunlight for more than ten seconds—burned by the sun!

This sunlight was truly too harsh!

”Did you guys go out just now? In such harsh sunlight, was it okay?” Xu Xin asked.

”Yes, we experienced what the current sunlight feels like, which is why I think the current situation is related to the sunlight,” Ji Chaoyang explained.

At that moment, Qi Xuefei’s voice came from the other side: ”The sunlight now is very strange. The temperature outside isn’t very high, roughly in the forties, which is much lower than yesterday afternoon. Yet, the damage caused by the sunlight is much higher.”

That was precisely what Xu Xin had just felt.

”Sunlight damage?” Li Wenxi was a bit confused, ”What do you mean?”

”Sunlight on the skin causes an extremely intense burning sensation,” Ji Chaoyang responded, ”And it greatly harms the skin. Xuefei and I just came down from the treehouse to the teleportation array, and in the ten seconds our hands and faces were exposed to the sun, we got various degrees of sunburn.”

”What? So exaggerated?” Li Wenxi instantly went to the window and stretched out her hand.

Then her brow furrowed slightly, and after about three seconds, she exclaimed and withdrew her hand: ”Oh my god, it’s so hot!”

Then she blew on the back of her hand twice, ”huff huff.”

”Are you okay?” Xu Xin grabbed her hand to take a look and was immediately taken aback.

Li Wenxi’s originally fair hand was slowly turning red.

”It’s fine it’s fine.” Li Wenxi retracted her hand, blew on it twice more, and rubbed her hand, saying, ”This sunlight is really too harsh!”

”It truly is too harsh,” Qi Xuefei’s voice came in agreement, ”Just going out for that little while, both Ji Chaoyang and I had to take a pill.”

...Really?

”Hmm... although it’s just ten seconds, it feels like being exposed to the sun all day during the sweltering summer, and our exposed skin got severely sunburned. However, the parts covered by clothing weren’t harmed.”

Xu Xin paused, then his eyes lit up: ”So, as long as we cover ourselves more thoroughly, we can still go outside?”

”...Provided you can withstand wrapping yourself up completely in this temperature. Oh yes, make sure the sunlight doesn’t hit your eyes, and don’t look directly at it, otherwise...”

Ji Chaoyang didn’t continue but sighed.

It seems he had tried it.

No wonder they used pills.

Eye injury is different from skin injury; eye injury means severe disability.

”What’s your random augmentation today?” Xu Xin suddenly asked.

”Random augmentation?” Ji Chaoyang was a bit surprised at the question, ”It’s strength augmentation, why do you ask?”

”Mine today is high temperature resistance.”

”...High temperature resistance?”

Not only Ji Chaoyang was surprised on the other side of the line, but even Li Wenxi beside him looked at him wide-eyed.

Xu Xin briefly explained the function of high-temperature resistance, then said: ”I should be able to go outside today.”

”...Has the decoration level of your treehouse exceeded 1000?” Ji Chaoyang immediately thought of the implication and was surprised.

After all, the random augmentations before 1000 are limited, and if Xu Xin had a new random augmentation, it means his treehouse decoration level has crossed the next threshold.

”Exactly, so I can move around now,” said Xu Xin, ”Plus, I have a wristband, taking people with me is no problem.”

Along with Lou Fei’er and the others who can endure high temperatures, as long as they are wrapped tightly, they can also move freely outside.

Just need to be mindful of their eyes.

Wear a sunhat?

Hmm, the points mall has such things, sold as ordinary clothes, didn’t think it would actually come in handy now.

”Definitely,” Ji Chaoyang confirmed, ”The augmentation came at the right time. But now, we don’t really need to go outside.”

”What’s your prediction?” Xu Xin asked.

”It’s just a scene of sitting in my treehouse,” Ji Chaoyang said with some helplessness, ”There’s nothing happening outside the treehouse, not much useful information.”

Nothing will happen?

Do they only need to endure this scorching heat and intense sunlight?

Or is the danger unknown?

Anyhow, going out now isn’t a good choice.

”I’ll go and check on the other treehouses and discuss the current situation,” said Xu Xin.

There’s not much else to do now.

After hanging up the call, Xu Xin noticed that Li Wenxi was frowning slightly and looking out towards the direction of her treehouse with a hint of concern in her eyes.

”What’s wrong, Wenxi?”

”Hmm... Yajun should be in my treehouse now,” Li Wenxi said with some worry, ”My treehouse has an automatic crossbow that can target and attack, but Yajun is still a little uneasy and went back. I thought it wouldn’t be too hot with the blue-grade saltpeter, so I let her go.”
