Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 754: Chapter 479: After Severe Cold Comes Scorching Heat! (4,800 words)

Things seem to be a little beyond his imagination!

”Ugh...” Keke collapsed directly onto the ground from the heat, sprawling out with her little tongue sticking out.

A bunch of Silver King and Mimi were also too hot to move at all.

Only that egg seemed unaffected, still rolling steadily.

And it looked even more energetic, didn’t it?

”No, no, it’s too hot!” Li Wenxi tugged at her collar, fanned herself a few times, and then stood up, ”I’ll go cool down!”

She ran to the kitchen to get a basin of water, moved it to the living room, and then threw in a piece of blue-grade saltpeter.

”Hiss...”

The sound of the saltpeter reacting with the water rang out, and then, the cool air spread throughout the room.

”Ah! Much more comfortable!” She squatted by the water basin for a while, enjoying the pleasure of ”air conditioning” blowing on her face before getting up to sit back on the sofa, ”This sudden return to this temperature is really a bit unbearable!”

Meanwhile, Xu Xin was frowning while checking various channels.

In the world channel, this situation was happening in various regions.

”Wow, the temperature is rising so fast!”

”Hahaha, the snow outside is melting like crazy! Good times are here!”

”I never want to see snow again!”

”However, isn’t this temperature rising a bit too quickly?”

”As if the temperature drop before wasn’t fast enough.”

”It’s just returning to the jungle’s original temperature. Look, the trees outside are budding! It’s so full of life, I’m feeling so much better!”

”Seeing the snow melt makes me extremely happy!”

These are survivors from regions that have just gone through severe cold, and they are currently in the snowmelt stage.

As the saying goes, snowmelt is colder than snowfall, as it absorbs heat. The absorption of heat from the melting snow layer kept their surrounding temperatures at a relatively normal level, so not many people seemed to notice the anomaly.

But in the alliance channel, it’s different.

Because in both Area 1 and Area 188, the snow layer had completely melted, so the temperature in these two areas was rising much faster than in the areas still experiencing snowmelt.

”Isn’t this heat a bit outrageous!”

”This temperature, it feels like I’m back in the city center during Earth’s summer!”

”It’s almost forty degrees now!”

”What the heck? It’s not even seven in the morning yet? The sun just rose not long ago!”

”Oh my god, I can’t imagine what the temperature will be at noon...”

”Damn, really? Are we going to have a heatwave right after this harsh winter?”

”What?! I would rather have winter! During winter, we can use furnaces for warmth and wear more layers, but what about the heat? There’s no air conditioning in this world!”

”I can’t imagine a world that’s scorching hot without air conditioning... Just kill me...”

”What’s there to fear? People survived just fine in the olden days without air conditioning, didn’t they?”

”? Survived just fine? Do you know how many people died during a heatwave in ancient times?”

”No worries, I’ve already sought refuge with the explorers, I feel pretty safe, I think it’s pretty solid.”

”Damn it, showing off gets you killed!”

”Explorers, please treat us in Area 1 the same as others!”

”Our big shots in Area 1 won’t stand by and do nothing either!”

Xu Xin sighed.

A heatwave is probably really coming.

It’s just that it’s coming too quickly.

Winter just ended!

Could they not at least wait a day to let them rest...

Of course, he wasn’t overly worried about this heatwave attack.

It was then that he suddenly realized what the rewards from the snow mountain climbing event were about.

They were meant to help them get through the next phase, to survive this heatwave stage!

”You, during this time, just stay at my place. And tell your people not to go out mining.” Xu Xin told Li Wenxi who was leaning over, ”It’s too hot, I’m afraid you can’t go outside.”

”Huh? What’s going on?” Li Wenxi was still a bit puzzled, perhaps misled by Xu Xin’s earlier words about ”returning to normal temperature,” ”Doesn’t matter, I used to mine in this temperature. Some mines are cooler than outside.”

Hmm...

”Today’s temperature should be a lot higher than this.” Xu Xin glanced out the window.

The temperature was rising quickly.

The sun was scorching, directly hitting the not fully recovered jungle, shining on the lake and the water pool he dug outside his treehouse, and the rising steam made the surrounding air seem a bit distorted.

It looked really hot!

”...Yeah!” Li Wenxi also realized, exclaiming, ”It’s only seven in the morning! It’s this hot this early, then at noon...”

Xu Xin rubbed his temples.

It’s a bit tricky.

Normally, a temperature difference of more than ten degrees between morning and noon is very common, and sometimes it can even be nearly twenty degrees, seeing temperatures spanning three seasons in one day is actually not uncommon.

Now the temperature is already around forty degrees, and even if it doesn’t rise abnormally, by the afternoon, it might exceed fifty degrees!

Fifty degrees is not a temperature suitable for human survival at all!

Not to mention, there’s a chance this temperature could continue to rise abnormally!

Is this world trying to freeze a bunch of people to death and then heat another bunch to death!

...At least ensure that people in Area 188 aren’t massively heat-stricken!

”How much saltpeter do you have left?” Xu Xin turned to ask Li Wenxi, who was furrowing her brows.
