Surviving The Fourth Calamity

As Rommel thought, even though Glaysia would come again every few days, she was merely switching from Moonlight Rose to Dawn Rose.

To be honest, with the Little White Orchid and Blue Tongue Thorn Rose before, although Rommel was a bit surprised by Glaysia’s peculiar tastes, he could still understand it.

Being the Princess of Hell yet yearning for a fresh and clean lifestyle... Although her greasy demeanor didn’t show it, the types that Glaysia liked indeed seemed quite refreshing and lovely.

But sending him Dawn Rose?

Wouldn’t Asmodeus swallow it back in shock upon seeing it?

Running circles outside with Lansendel, while his own daughter is there planting Dawn Roses... Even though Rommel knew long ago that Glaysia wasn’t a good daughter, being able to blatantly do something like this still surprised him a bit.

At this moment, the Elven God King finally fell from his supreme fool status in Rommel’s heart... Glaysia had the qualification to rise to the first rank.

Of course, this time, Rommel’s refusal was more resolute than ever.

However, his reasoning was also simple and clear... compared to the flowers he rejected previously, a rose was even less acceptable to him.

Even in this world with little cultural transmission, roses are used to praise the beauty of women.

Sending such flowers to a man is more humiliating than the past days’ roses.

At this moment, Rommel also suddenly fathomed a bit of Glaysia’s intent... She didn’t care about the meanings of these flowers because she clearly knew that Rommel, having grown up in the Tower of Dark Enigma, seldom saw flowers and plants.

Even when the Tower of Dark Enigma was not in its current rather dismal state, only plants with some magical value would be cultivated in its magic gardens.

In other marginalized places, they generally planted some creatures requiring less maintenance, instead of choosing flowers that need meticulous care.

For instance, the Blue Tongue Thorn Rose last time, although it sounds like a freely growing small shrub, in essence, controlling water and other conditions meticulously is needed to maintain its fresh light blue appearance.

In the Magic Tower, it’s a very extravagant act to waste a Mage’s time on such worthless things.

Actually, Glaysia was using this subtle manner to flaunt her wealth.

No, it’s not flaunting wealth; it’s showing Rommel her power and status.

But... Rommel thought incredulously... Glaysia should know perfectly well, who those White Robe Mages responsible for delivering gifts to him, Rommel, recently are, right?

Doesn’t Glaysia care at all if a man who doesn’t intend to bow to her knows what will become of a male pet he no longer values?

Or does she think Rommel wouldn’t figure out who the unlucky Mage is who has to grow flowers and plants for her?

Of course, Rommel also knows that these flowers Glaysia brought might be from other worlds... But, since the Princess of Hell claimed to have a big beautiful garden, she definitely does.

Ha~

Although not very angry, Rommel who still felt underestimated, was a bit displeased.

Glaysia, finally realizing belatedly, understood that this male Mage in front of her wouldn’t be swayed by any external factors.

She could only offer a bit more sincerity.

However, at other times, Glaysia could invest more, but now... after weighing the consequences if her father showed up when she hadn’t smoothed out the current trouble, she hesitated.

She looked at Rommel somewhat regretfully: ”Ah~ So you really don’t like these kinds of flowers.

What a pity~

They are all ones I really like!

Next time, when I come, I will bring something that you will surely like.

I hope you...”

She suddenly lowered her head and smiled lightly, her smile as gentle as spring breeze: ”Some things, I was wrong.

I will seriously consider how to handle our relationship~

See you next time~ Rommel.

Don’t be mad at me, think more of my good~”

The Hell Princess suddenly changing her style took Rommel by surprise, and he didn’t even have the time to say goodbye.

Rommel gently closed the door of the Magic Tower, unable to stop the alarms ringing in his heart.

Compared to the arrogance and disregard for Rommel’s thoughts in the past, the current Glaysia is obviously being much more serious.

This also means that even after realizing Rommel is not as easy to handle as her other suitors, Glaysia did not plan to give up.

And it even spurred more of her desire.

Even planning to change her style to show Rommel that she also has a gentle side!

Although after a prolonged period of ’cool arrogant crushing grandeur’ style, suddenly switching to this tender woman demeanor would only make those treated this way be on edge.

He indeed sensed the Hell Princess’s determined pursuit of him.

Walking back to his room, Rommel couldn’t help but peer out of the window at the distant Gilbert Magic Tower... Although last time delivering that little Beehive to the bear cub didn’t go quite as planned, since the Little Bear accepted his gift, he hopefully wouldn’t do nothing, right?

He just wanted a little reminder... to avoid making a wrong judgement and desperate decision before hope arrives.

Hill, although loving to watch the commotion, shouldn’t stand by and watch him seek death, right?

Rommel knew that Hill wouldn’t easily violate a pact, but the sudden change of the Hell Princess today still made him a bit uneasy.

Truly, it made him feel like being chased by a dog relentlessly.

He would never again underestimate Max, who got chased by a dog up and down everywhere... it’s really troublesome.

-----------------

Hilbert looked thoughtfully at all that unfolded on the huge screen.

Glaysia, that gal, gave up too fast.

So fast that he almost didn’t have time to see Rommel’s reaction.

Of course, he still saw it.

Even though he had countless thoughts in his mind... he absolutely wouldn’t give up this live comedic show.

He even counted the number of Recording Crystals in his warehouse for the first time, fearing he didn’t have enough stock.

Luckily, Hill is not the kind who resells for profit.

After all, when he needs money, he doesn’t need to sell such worthless raw materials.

And during his mining in the Starry Sky, he often encountered these pure crystal mines that could be made into Recording Crystals.

So, Hill really recorded it from start to finish.

When today’s Rommel saw that large bunch of Dawn Roses, those slightly widened pupils, were recorded by him clear as day.

Hey~

No matter if Glaysia felt Asmodeus’s impending arrival, causing her to be so nervous she overlooked saying a few more provocative words to the resolute Rommel.

Hill only cared about Rommel’s vivid changes in expression.

Although this Archmage could maintain a steady face and unchanged expression... he still couldn’t control his eyes because of Glaysia’s wild maneuvering.

Of course, unless one was like Hill, recording even mosquitoes in his face, it would be difficult for others to notice Rommel’s subtle changes.

That Archmage was highly alert to outsiders’ scrutiny, and whenever he had to open the Magic Tower’s door due to Glaysia’s arrival, he would position his head at a certain angle, letting the Magic Tower’s shadows obscure his expression.

Despite his persistence, Rommel would never risk easily; he wouldn’t allow himself any unforeseen circumstances.

As for recording him with Hill’s mosquito crystal face close... what could he do?

When asking for favors, one ought to be more accommodating.

Hill obviously doesn’t believe that Draculus, as an Alchemist Master, wouldn’t notice those tiny mosquitoes hidden among the gifts piled up outside the auxiliary tower.

Unfortunately, even if he did, Rommel, this Archmage with no special talents, could only watch with his eyes wide open.

He turned and glanced, softly calling out: ”Russell.”

”Teacher? I’m here.” Russell immediately responded and walked in.

”The honey brewed from the Queen Bee Rommel last gifted me, I like it very much.” Hilbert smiled slightly, ”So, I must give him what he wants in exchange.”

”Can I be the one to deliver it?” Russell glanced nervously at the large screen... of course, he knew Princess Glaysia had just been thwarted.

”Only you going will work.” Hilbert shook his head, ”If I go and he doesn’t let me in, that’s Rommel being impolite.

If you go, it’s no big deal.

As for anything else, Glaysia wouldn’t be dissatisfied with what she herself traded.”
