Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Feeling that his task could almost come to an end, the most important thing at this moment remained Hill’s role as an observer, even contemplating whether Celene was just watching the scene or would also get involved.

In other worlds, Hill would definitely not feel that the homely Goddess of the Silvermoon would be tempted, but he had been quite idle these days, so he recalled something not very important yet quite surprising to him.

Angelterd, the life source of that Red Dragon, the exquisitely transparent emerald sphere that Hill had personally excavated.

A pseudo-artifact that could allow Chromatic Dragons to disguise as level 18 Mages and slow down the aging of Giant Dragons.

Hill didn’t plan to keep it in his own hands, so Celene took it away... back then the Goddess of the Silvermoon mentioned that she was very interested in this Little Dragon.

Although Hill also found it quite strange why she would be curious about something seemingly unrelated to her, yet since it was Celene, he didn’t delve too deep.

Don’t display your curiosity in front of Celene... During all those years in Toril, Hill constantly reminded himself.

Of course, normal curiosity was fine, but absolutely don’t let Celene feel that Hill shared any hobbies with her.

Otherwise, the kind-hearted Goddess of the Silvermoon would not hide any secrets from Hill and would joyfully lead him to explore the world as she sees it.

While Toril had no secrets before her, there were some in front of Hill.

And really, who would dare to play around behind her?

Celene’s constant character, in a certain sense, was no different from a child who never grows up... In the eyes of an innocent child, she only sees what she wants and doesn’t care if it’s dangerous.

When educating a naughty child about not playing with fire, you can let them feel the danger of fire... but what if this naughty child can easily grab the flame?

She doesn’t see any danger in that thing, so she will turn around and hand it to the person behind her without hesitation to play with.

The key is, she doesn’t know if the person behind her can play with this fire.

Also, Celene is a being who doesn’t quite understand others’ implicit refusals.

Yet, how many people dare to openly and strongly refuse this infamous capricious being of powerful Divine Power?

Of course, if such trouble is really encountered, Hill wouldn’t hesitate to speak out, but he doesn’t want to make it uncomfortable for one of the places he travels for a petty issue, right?

Thus, even though there was only Shaer from the Evil Faction among the three deities that stayed in his Sky Garden, Hill opted to communicate with the fearsome Goddess of the Night first.

For a Mage, being able to communicate is more important than anything else.

Therefore, if forced to choose between communicating with Celene and Lansendel, Hill would choose Lansendel.

Lansendel is also somewhat lacking... not really lacking virtue, but nobody wants to deal with him, yet someone like Hill with principles and abilities, not worried about being coaxed by the Lord of Dawn’s enthusiasm, can still have a chat.

People in Toril would rather choose Celene than Lansendel, apart from Lansendel’s earth-shattering deeds... although Celene also had some, they were all before the current era; not to mention humans, even some later deities don’t know... and it’s also because he enjoys the favor of the Goddess of Luck and the Goddess of Misfortune.

Those two can do nothing about Lansendel, but they might vent their anger on someone who has ties with Lansendel... after all, they can’t really do anything to a true Dawn Believer.

Even though no one in Toril would clearly articulate a matter, everyone actually understands: as the only publicly recognized intimate partner of Tai Ji, destiny scars are very difficult to appear on the Lord of Dawn.

Including his followers alike.

Even though Tai Ji had long fallen, the river of fate in Toril won’t be completely destroyed, and the blessings she once utilized from the river of fate certainly won’t dissipate.

It is a love that won’t perish as long as Toril exists.

Unless Tymora and Benshasha are willing to closely cooperate, then they might have a chance to successfully curse a Chosen of the Lord of Dawn.

And for Lansendel himself, they can only make him choose wrong in half of the opportunities when making an important decision.

That is, during the Dawn Calamity when Lansendel almost killed them both, before Benshasha and Tymora didn’t merge into one, it was a curse they issued!

How many years passed until there was such an opportunity.

And then it also let Hill inadvertently took a turn, allowing Lansendel to choose correctly even after being successfully cursed.

Luckily no one knows, thank God.

Thus, the Goddess of Luck and the Goddess of Misfortune can only choose to vent to let no one dare interact with Lansendel.

But the Lord of Dawn actually doesn’t care about this.

Although his personality is very enthusiastic, it’s only towards people he values.

Lansendel is a symbol of youth... causing trouble, high arrogance, and willfulness are among his attributes.

Anyway, for Hill, who doesn’t reside in Toril and whose own identity has no possibility of conflict with Lansendel, Lansendel is much easier to deal with than Celene.

He really isn’t used to that kind of ’friend’ with overflowing enthusiasm and goodwill who wants to take him to his death.

Hill is cautiously trying to minimize the possibilities of using excessively good luck for himself, how could he gamble his fate on whether his luck has an upper limit?

Celene doesn’t care nor does she think that anything in Toril can pose a real life risk to her... except Shaer.

She and Shaer both know clearly, as long as AO old man is around, no matter how fiercely they fight, it won’t result in anything.

Although he also has a willing guardian elder overhead, Hill absolutely wouldn’t want to live like Celene does.

But Celene’s intuition, Hill still trusts a lot.

Thus, she may not know when she’ll have a chance to encounter that Little Dragon, but is certain she’ll definitely meet it.

Moreover, Angelterd will be the key item enabling her to get something from that Little Dragon related to and very much desired by her.

Hilbert looked up at the gray-violet tall tower in front of him, and lightly sighed... AO, that old bastard, is truly scheming to his bones.

Angelterd, this emerald crystal sphere, although can be considered a divine artifact, is not one after all.

And Hill had initially shown interest in emeralds... he indeed purchased many emerald raw stones at Shoulong.

If at that time he hadn’t thought it through, Angelterd would have been carried away by him.

This thing indeed wasn’t important enough to be dragged back to Toril... but it could link him to Toril’s primordial moon once again.

Twist it a few more times, plus a seemingly good relationship with someone from the same world as Hill named William who also has Shaer as a girlfriend, might make an opportunity to drag Hill into Toril’s muddy pool.

Anyway, it’s impossible for William.

If they really dare to lay hands on William, the most leaky little coat in AO’s household would surely make Toril explode thrice again.

But for Hill, it’s just fine~

As long as he’s willing, the World Tree wouldn’t flip for this trivial matter.

Hill smirked, he was truly underestimated!

Truly... the more he thought, the angrier he got.

Although he wasn’t fooled, it doesn’t mean being calculated feels good.

Hill indeed knows AO gives him trouble everywhere, but every time he catches a new one, he still can’t help but get angry.

The old man, really is...

Luckily, the current Goddess of Magic is Edna.

Every time he thinks of this magic goddess raised by the Undead Tribe bringing AO surprises in the years to come, Hill can’t help but cheer her on.

Heh~

”Teacher, what are you thinking? Why don’t you come in?” Carpenter quietly poked his head out at the door with a long apron streaked with oil paint, ”Is there any trouble?”
