Surviving The Fourth Calamity

For Rommel, the time spent entering the tower felt both long and short.

It felt long because of his awkward yet eager feelings inside.

He was a bit anxious, of course, because he really wanted to know why the bear cub suddenly appeared in this devilish world.

Given the little one’s nature, seeing a world with such evil aura would usually make him steer clear... The bear cub wasn’t someone who upheld justice and performed righteous deeds like a big philanthropist.

Hill wouldn’t fight to the death for another world... And with the worlds around Teraxil besieged by devils or even demons, those who hadn’t entered this world would never realize what this world means to Teraxil.

Thus, Rommel truly hadn’t expected to see this little bear here one day.

Embarrassment, needless to say.

He had thought before that having some help would be great, but definitely not in this kind of situation today.

Besides, this helper was absolutely fearless of him and revels in chaos.

Draculus’s millennia of composure collapsed the moment he recognized the bear cub... The language weaving was so perfect!

Even Fran probably wasn’t as fluent as this bear, as fluent as if he’d been personally tutored.

And short, in that he exhausted countless thoughts but couldn’t figure out how to get this bear cub to keep his mouth shut after leaving this world.

More importantly, as he had departed Teraxil relatively late, he managed to catch a bit of news from the Undead Tribe... Wherever Hill went, the Undead Tribe followed.

That gang... Just thinking about them coming to this world and hearing what’s happened during this time made Rommel feel suffocated.

The Undead Tribe’s greatest ability wasn’t their lawless courage but their boundless minds!

For them, fabricating rumors was as easy as breathing... They could exaggerate the tiniest matters to shock even the deities.

In the past, he could ignore all of this, as it was just others’ drama to behold: like the love and hatred between the God of Nobility and the Goddess of Love.

Favoring the little cat named Alice, they even unabashedly embroiled a black panther—whose name Rommel had forgotten—into those two’s love story.

The reason Rommel couldn’t recall that panther’s name was that even if one day the cat abandoned the otherworld to return to Teraxil, it wouldn’t have the face to reclaim its name.

Draculus, having interacted with the elves as an Archmage, naturally knew some accidental stories involving animals.

But those were accidents!

Yet the stories from the Undead Tribe were something else, yes, like a horror story from another dimension.

The God of Nobility and the Goddess of Love did struggle, but the more furious they appeared, the more miserable the outcome... The Undead Tribe was truly terrifying.

If you retaliate with rage, pursuing them miles and miles, they’d merely accuse you of being shamed into anger after hitting the truth.

But if you really don’t care, it’s even worse... Isn’t that just admitting it by default!

In the end, it was the God of Nobility who sacrificed something unknown that allowed William to step in and completely cover the matter up... Yes, not silencing the Undead Tribe, but using sensational benefits to divert attention from the fading news.

Yes, William persisted until everyone in Teraxil knew about it before being willing to step in and resolve the dull melodrama.

Draculus could more or less guess the guy’s thoughts, estimating that the God of Nobility and the Goddess of Love were also clear... Without any cost, when the little bear in front of them traveled through the universe back to Teraxil, there’d definitely be dire consequences for them.

Just like how the richness of the Undead Tribe’s imagination was first sparked by a Goddess of the Sea who enjoyed chatting with them.

Even she probably hadn’t anticipated that a mere stray line from her would lead the Undead to craft a wild spectacle where the Sun and Silvermoon shone together in the sky... Those two were so focused on listening that they forgot the timing of day and night.

At dawn, the morning sun burned bright as Silvermoon shone... nearly scaring the Teraxil people, who already knew their world’s past, into thinking they were doomed again.

But Draculus also realized, even if the God of Nobility felt innocent, he understood that as the guardian of that cat, Hill had every right to seek revenge.

And this little bear... To be honest, even though the Elven God King was so arrogant, Hill, as the most cherished member of the Earth Bear family and almost designated as the second heir, could walk horizontally through Teraxil.

Let alone if he was justified, even if he was being unreasonable, so what?

For the fairness and justice in Teraxil to fight for their world’s interests meant gaining compensation, not revenge, right?

The God of Nobility, of course, understands this better.

When Draculus left, Toril’s timeline hadn’t yet reached the Goddess of Magic’s ascension, and during his intense purge, he caught the attention of that powerful devil... The following days were filled with constant fleeing and attempts to counterkill.

Unfortunately, just when he was about to succeed, a random Dimensional Gate transported him to this world.

However, after seeing the little bear ahead with its twinkling eyes and mischievous smile, Draculus began to suspect that the reason he was dropped onto a meteorite summoned by a certain Archmage of the Tower of Dark Enigma, and even perfectly smashed into the meteorite’s interior, was influenced by something.

He always felt that wherever this bear went, there was absolutely nothing truly random... it was all fate.

If chaos erupts wherever one goes, don’t doubt what they did wrong; instead, think about whether they’re wrapped in the halo of some Son of Destiny.

Even by indulging in wild thoughts to separate himself from the worry of impending confrontation with what he least wants to face, Rommel still has to grit his teeth amidst the reality of everyone being evacuated from the landing site.

As he watched Ruth, Nicholson, and Karmante Tower finally finish their meaningless pleasantries and begin to bid each other farewell, Rommel, who finally turned his face to that damned ’Gilbert’, had a scene he thought he’d forgotten flash through his mind: that black airship so ugly he couldn’t help but critique it.

If, at the time, he hadn’t lost interest in observation because of its chaotic curves... in fact, he was quite interested in the sensitivity of its rotary spirals!

Rommel believed that if he had observed a bit more, he would have surely noticed something special about that airship, and then would have paid close attention to Gilbert Hainarson.

After all, that guy was always suspected of being replaced by someone else, especially since his original identity was different; it would be impossible to overlook Gilbert after discovering anything unusual.

And, given Draculus’ understanding of Hill, this little bear’s disguise capabilities hardly reached a level he couldn’t see through.

That guy’s least skilled trait was lying and pretending... So, analyzing his words a little and observing his every small move carefully, it should not be impossible to detect his identity!

Just, because of a moment of disgust, he...

Had he been more earnest and careful, might he not have ended up like this today?

Rommel knows it’s his own arrogance and pride... After seeing the state of the Tower of Dark Enigma, and realizing the Lord of Hell wasn’t present in Sia Tower, he became overly confident in his abilities.

This wasn’t his first mistake either; the downfall of the Mage Association back then was also due to his overconfidence.

Although he’s been reflecting, waves of anger still surged in Rommel’s heart: Is this little bear deliberately nauseating him after recognizing him?

But Rommel couldn’t deny that Hill’s actions were correct.

If he’d been discovered before that, Draculus would definitely mock him.

He might even use such little pleasures to coerce Hill into doing some harmless but inevitably troublesome little things.

And whether he’d keep it a secret afterward... He wouldn’t tell anyone else, Fran isn’t an outsider, right?

However, a moment of mishap instantly reversed his and Hill’s positions.

Draculus no longer counted on Hill to keep his secret; he just hoped Hill wouldn’t summon the Undead Tribe in this world.

Faced with shame in front of some people or complete social death in the whole world, perhaps the Multiverse, the regained clarity of mind made Draculus know which option to choose.

Damn it... He has to... for this little bear... sigh!

Facing the slowly approaching ’Gilbert’, Rommel put on his gentlest smile and asked in a soft voice: ”Where is the territory that Sia Tower arranged for us here?

Everyone is very tired, let’s take them to our place to rest first!”

On Hillbert’s handsome face, the corners of his mouth turned up, and a bright smile formed two small dimples: ”Alright~”

He took out a huge map and handed it to Rommel: ”This is the territory distribution map given by Sia Tower; the lavender color is us, starry purple is Archmage Nicholson’s side, and the dark purple is yours.

It already lists various small plots of land based on your previously reported relationships and level differences, and you can directly write the confirmed names on it.

Sia Tower will assign a Junior Mage to lead people there, which we don’t need to worry about.

As for how to build the Magic Tower, that’s their business, no, your own affair.”

Glancing at the calm-faced Rommel, Hillbert waved the map in his hand: ”But before that, you need to confirm the location of the Main Tower with Archmage Karmante.

Do you want... to continue forming a triangular cycle with the other two Archmages?”
