Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rommel doesn’t want to be a polite person at all.

He just wants to close the doors and play dead.

This time, it’s not like last time.

Back then, there wasn’t a Little Bear with eyes wide as saucers squatting there to watch the fun.

It might even be recorded from all angles.

Although that Little Bear isn’t someone who lacks discretion, if he shares it, it would certainly only be with Fran, rather than showing it to the Undead Tribe, but... just Fran is enough!

Back in the day, Draculus, who had witnessed Fran and the Half-Elf Queen’s love story, didn’t do anything good either.

Indeed, people should avoid doing unnecessary things.

Look... he merely thought he would never end up in the same situation, besides Fran is his disciple and grand-disciple, even if displeased, wouldn’t make fun of him, so he was a bit reckless back then.

Now, one moment of carelessness, and all the consequences come back to him.

As for making that Little Bear shut up... after confirming what happened recently, Rommel won’t do anything redundant.

After all, he is in danger, unlike that Bear.

With Lansendel’s imminent arrival and the Envoy of the Styx already starting to appear openly, having Hill backed by the World Tree, Elemental Realm, and even the Father of Elves is absolutely the safest.

Even if Asmodeus sees him laughing crazily at the moon, he would pretend not to see.

Draculus knows well that although he’s fairly strong, expecting to escape unscathed from the Lord of Hell is basically impossible... no, even having a chance to escape would be good.

But as long as he maintains a cordial relationship with Hill, that Little Bear wouldn’t likely watch him die.

Of course, their relationship isn’t deep, but as long as Draculus’s actions are for Teraxil, that kind-hearted Bear with high morals certainly wouldn’t abandon him.

Kind and persistent people can sometimes be hard to deal with... no matter the benefits offered or the sweet words spoken, the sins you’ve committed are unforgivable in their eyes.

But sometimes they’re easy to handle... even if you’re cold, as long as you’re a decent person and everything you do, every risk you take is for a noble cause, they absolutely would lend a helping hand.

Of course, expecting Hill to risk his life for Draculus is impossible, but just a little protection, showing some care, and that’s enough.

With this bit of care, Draculus is absolutely confident that he won’t lose his life in the hands of Asmodeus.

Rather than dealing with him, it’s likely the Lord of Hell would be more interested in how he appeared in this world.

No matter how much Mephistopheles knows about this world, he knows far more than other Grand Dukes of Devils.

Draculus has been in power for many years, he knows well that the last thing a leader wants to see is a subordinate who can threaten his position.

Mephistopheles, as Hell’s biggest ambitious player, although many things happen with Asmodeus’s indulgence... that’s because the Lord of Hell feels he has absolute control over that guy.

Once Asmodeus discovers that Mephistopheles could uncover secrets he didn’t want revealed, Draculus, being merely a pawn were casually used, naturally won’t be that important.

Of course, if it’s not troublesome, the Lord of Hell surely wouldn’t mind crushing Draculus, the one who dared challenge his authority.

But wasn’t there a Little Bear Hill standing in the way!

No need for Hill to protect him actively, as long as he’s standing there, Asmodeus, unsure whether this slightly kind Bear would act, wouldn’t do anything unnecessary... rather than needing to stop halfway due to certain reasons, causing doubt about his strength, it’s better to appear generous from the start.

Although Draculus feels he and the Lord of Hell are not the same kind of person, he can somewhat understand the mindset of an upper hand in the Evil Faction.

The undefeated, unbeatable persona is most important to them.

Asmodeus can lose, can let go... but definitely not because of a Little Bear.

Despite having too many factors behind this Bear forcing a pause.

Yet, in the outside world, it seems like he’s concerned about the existence of a Grand Duke of Devils’ strength.

In a place of evil, there’s always someone who thinks you should die if you become weak.

The Lord of Hell’s position is so tempting, even if it’s self-deception, there’s always someone wanting to make a move.

Draculus, unaware of the earth-shattering war Asmodeus is preparing for, although his judgment direction is wrong, the result is roughly the same.

Compared to him, Asmodeus would certainly be more interested in Mephistopheles.

He wouldn’t want to go out and fight, and upon triumphant return, find his home burned down.

Discovering that Mephistopheles could spy on his secrets, Asmodeus would surely deal with him before the war begins.

Draculus’s thinking is slightly convoluted, but the result is more or less the same.

Hill can also see through his little schemes, he just doesn’t care.

Like he always shows, no matter how Draculus’s attitude towards him is, whether it’s good or bad, whether he’s masking his inner coldness with enthusiasm, Hill does not care.

As long as his actions live up to Teraxil, that’s enough.

Hill never believed that others had any obligation to be kind to him.

Each person has their own fate, and there will always be people who are not meant to be in his life.

The meticulous Rommel, however, could not ignore these things.

After all, since he wanted to rely on Hill’s existence to survive, he had to consider his actions, making sure not to anger that Little Bear.

This meant he couldn’t do anything specifically to guard against the other... Full defensive measures were fine, but targeting directly? Still not an option.

So, this left Rommel, who could usually communicate with Grand Magus Glasia with a calm mind, at a standstill at this moment.

He knew that every move he made and every flattering word he said would eventually turn into a slap in his own face, a particularly loud one.

Rommel shifted uneasily in front of his Magic Tower’s gate.

Outside, Glasia smiled smugly... She probably thought Rommel’s unease was because of her presence.

Well, in another sense, she wasn’t wrong.

If it weren’t for her, in the current situation, that Little Bear would instead be avoiding him, Draculus!

The long time was enough for this meticulous Archmage to understand the whole context.

Hill coming to ask him about how Glasia made Aislin was inevitable... He couldn’t go ask others.

That child was free-spirited but never capricious, especially when handling serious business.

Completely different from his two daughters.

But even Draculus himself could not deny that when Hill just came running to ask him this question... He would definitely discuss Hill’s biased behaviors with Fran later.

This wasn’t a big deal, right?

Just a friendly exchange between elders.

After figuring out the causal relationship over the past few days, Draculus really wished, even in his dreams, that he was experiencing this story.

However, the tall woman outside the tower door holding the Moonlight Rose forced him back to reality: How was he going to deal with this Princess of Hell under the unavoidable recording of that Little Bear?

As for simply inviting her into his Magic Tower for some friendly internal exchange making Hill’s recording capabilities ineffective, Rommel wouldn’t even consider such a stupid method.

He knew very well that if he let even a foot of Glasia enter his domain, tomorrow he would be considered this Princess of Hell’s man throughout the entire Sia Tower.

Rommel absolutely refused to believe that Hell Devils would have any decency.

Coercing good into prostitution, in their mouths, could even be ’helping them take the first step towards liberating their nature’!

To hell with liberating nature!

Rommel just wanted to be an Archmage for his entire life, what’s wrong with that?

Although he didn’t have much contact with the Undead Tribe, the observant Draculus really knew a lot.

When pushed, he even knew how to use Rommel instead of Draculus.

That damn crow outside had started singing.

Rommel knew he couldn’t delay any longer.

The patience of the Princess of Hell was clearly limited... Even though Glasia mistakenly thought Rommel was too nervous to know how to handle her, she had no intention of giving him much patience.

Rommel couldn’t help but snicker inwardly: This lady’s every love story ends in tragedy, one really can’t blame those unlucky enough to catch her eye.

Someone with little patience even in the pursuit stage, how could they truly have any sincerity once they succeed?

Those not clear-headed enough, deceived by her, inevitably lash out in crazy revenge once they finally see through... Only fools could do the cruelest things.

While those clear-minded, like him who has always been able to see through the true nature of the Princess of Hell... That condescending attitude of ’I fancy you hence it’s your honor, rejecting me is your greatest mistake’, if he eventually had to enter her harem, it certainly wouldn’t be willingly.

This Princess of Hell didn’t have bad taste, even though those she fancied were varied, generally, they had some capability.

How could they possibly not retaliate against her?

The inevitable reaction would be to strike whenever possible.

Fortunately, he only needed to buy time, not ending up like those unlucky ones struggling in Hell.

Glasia’s time to cause trouble was also limited.

Rommel took a deep breath, gently opened his tower door, expression calm, voice gentle, but with a very firm tone, ”Grand Magus Glasia, your approach really puts me in a difficult position.

Could you spare me some dignity as a man?”
