Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rommel moved his left hand, and a ring suddenly penetrated the surface, appearing on his ring finger.

After putting those things into the ring, he fell into a somewhat desolate mood... He couldn’t even rely on anything but others’ accidental encounters to know if any students had managed to leave that trap area alive.

On the contrary, as for the traitors, he could know the confirmed news of their deaths.

German Galan... suddenly discarded Rommel’s persona, revealing the cold self of Draculus, the light flashing in his eyes wasn’t the grief of nostalgia, but infinite killing intent.

He felt he hadn’t killed enough.

Hill’s bear only saw the most apparent messages, but only he who discussed with Galan how to hide deeper secrets within secrecy could understand the messages that guy secretly transmitted.

Although Galan did his best and could only hide a few words within those metal fabrics, at least he listed all the traitor names he could find within them.

Hill might have placed the book introducing his identity at the top to attract his attention deliberately.

So, Draculus felt more anger than pain and regret.

Galan was among his students, extremely smart... Though his Alchemy talents couldn’t compare to Hill, let alone Fran, he was still quite outstanding.

Most importantly, even though he didn’t particularly want to face doomsday with the Teraxil people, he never thought of turning against his home planet.

Draculus never cared about his students’ factions, as long as their talents were sufficient.

Being absolutely self-centered and absolutely neutral, he also respected others’ choices... Thus, even if there was an annoying chaos around him, he would only choose to leave.

Of course, if this chaos dared to provoke him, he wouldn’t let it have any chance to regret.

But he would still favor children with some principles.

After all, during interactions, it’s easier to communicate with such children and understand their thoughts.

And as the exceptionally long-lived Teraxil people... Rather than humans, they should be considered some kind of elves?

Not the type like the Elven God King, rather an existence similar but not the same as Moon Elves.

They were born within the hope of the Goddess of the Earth... Apparently, that divinity didn’t seem to favor true elves, unlike the Goddess of the Silvermoon.

Thank heavens.

But this did allow another matter to be understood... As he traveled around the outside world, he found that Half-Elves were actually not like the Teraxil people at all, not only did their lifespan remain intact, but they could completely inherit their strength.

For instance, those able to transform into birds, leopards, bears, most Half-Elves find it not so easy to directly inherit such talents.

Their initial step is to awaken their bloodline, rather than immediately transform.

Moreover, the naturally strong physique of Teraxil humans also had an explanation.

Ordinary humans surely wouldn’t be like Teraxil people, despite not exercising much and barely having enough to eat, able to lift huge stones effortlessly.

Those towering city walls, hundreds of meters high, were indeed the mages’ achievements, but the foundational buildings, like mining and transporting, relied on these mere mortals who weren’t even knights.

Therefore, a mage like Galan, already capable of independently leaving their world and traveling the Universe, even if making no further progress, certainly wouldn’t live for such a short time.

Draculus knew Galan described himself as gravely injured and hard to heal because he worried about the person who might read this letter being a traitor.

After all, he personally witnessed that horrifying blockade.

Even though aided by cleverness, he sensed something was amiss, avoided falling for the traitor’s trap, and even seized the opportunity to uncover their names, he undoubtedly faced a very crazy interception.

But, Galan was among the last batch of children to leave him.

And thus, the high-level Wonders he possessed were more numerous, even having Demi-God Artifacts, otherwise escaping wouldn’t have been so easy.

Draculus always thought those who left in the beginning had a chance to survive... none of his students were fools.

How could such astute mages enter a new world without any caution?

Instead, the later ones lost some wariness due to the traitors’ presence.

This was also why Draculus loathed those traitors the most.

They managed to live carefree in the Devil’s world, relying entirely on the blood staining their hands, the blood of fellow disciples!

And those who trusted them died even more...

Whenever thinking of this, Draculus was full of killing intent.

Very well, Galan left him a more complete list... that child was truly smart, and even in the most unsolvable situation, he found the best chance to deliver the message.

Only someone like Hill would think that things inside other people’s Magic Towers, especially those crafted by Draculus’ students, are easy to take... This is even though he doesn’t know those things were collected by a group of Low-Rank Knights, otherwise he would appreciate German Galan’s decisiveness even more.

Although these items don’t have any special effects, they’re just some foundational mage items, with perhaps a few special functions, but only these things can fall into the hands of others after being discovered and find a way outside.

The best, top-tier items can only be treasured in the vaults of the powerful, so his chances of seeing them are nonexistent.

Yet Galan probably never expected someone like Hill to exist... Luckily, this bear cub is somewhat one of us, having learned a bit of rune cryptics; otherwise, he’d definitely toss them in a warehouse and never glance at them.

You could say, even though their luck isn’t very good... Draculus suddenly smirked: instead, it was those few students who willingly stayed with him until Teraxil’s end that survived.

This overly ironic result really makes him feel a bit...

Forget it, what’s past is past, no need to overthink; a person like him only concerns himself with the present.

There are a few people on Galan’s list that he indeed hasn’t seen.

It seems Devils treat them quite well, even allowing them to venture into other worlds!

Otherwise, Draculus believes he would definitely not lose track of them.

He’s lingered in those few worlds for quite some time!

Draculus shook his head, as the Magic Tower’s energy array finally finished resonating with the other two Main Towers, he returned slowly to the expression and demeanor Rommel should have.

His emotions, once again buried with the ring slipped beneath his skin, fell to their lowest, while Hill, oblivious, pondered how this ring came to be.

Compared to having to completely give up on good things, Draculus’ method, although troublesome, is more convenient!

But he also knows Draculus is unlikely to be in a good mood... although it was Hill himself who chose to bring it out early to prevent him from probing into Lansendel’s affairs further, he genuinely didn’t expect it to be so ruthless.

There’s likely something within that he doesn’t know.

For instance, Galan’s severe injury, which Draculus might know the true cause of.

Before Draculus’ evident murderous intent, Hill felt he shouldn’t ask more questions.

Thus, he can only slowly ponder the principle behind Draculus completely concealing the existence of that storage ring.

It’s certainly not just a layer of skin; even a bit of flesh can hide the energy of the Magical Item itself.

If it were so simple, Hill wouldn’t have failed to think of it.

After all, their enemies, at worst, are Great Devils... and there is more than one Duke of Demons.

Not to mention the Princess of Hell and Fengo.

When Kamente Tower led Ruth and Nicholson into the energy room, they saw exactly that — two seemingly harmonious yet actually independently acting individuals.

Rosero, Mack, and Pet also passed by outside the energy room, not finding anything unusual about the unfamiliar scene they saw.

The idea that Kamente Tower’s most trusted student conversing with Ruth’s beloved disciple is truly absurd.

If they manage not to fight, it’s because this Gilbert, sent by Ruth, although ill-tempered, is the coldest by nature, generally not causing trouble unless provoked.

Of course, they know why Gilbert would sacrifice his time and energy to help Kamente Tower construct this Main Tower... though Gilbert consumed too many resources earlier that need replenishing, the main reason is they must ensure Kamente Tower doesn’t transform the Main Tower connected to them into a subordinate tower of Sia Tower.

Giving away the energy they’ve painstakingly amassed might be bearable with a few curses, but it concerns their own safety!

Yet Kamente Tower and his students and underlings are still members of the Tower of Dark Enigma; they cannot openly abandon these people.

Not to mention, the faction within Kamente Tower is very chaotic, containing true Dark Mist mages.

Kamente Tower has inherited an established apprenticeship style; even after clearing some adversaries, he cannot eliminate all their disciples and descendants.

If he were really that stupid, Ruth would have long found an excuse to kill him.

However, once the magic array of the Tower of Dark Enigma is opened, closing and altering it requires the cooperation of the three towers, so as long as the array’s safety is ensured from the start, there’s nothing else to worry about.

Everyone is just pretending not to understand while fully aware.

”Teacher, everything is smooth here.” Rommel straightened his posture and was the first to greet.

Hill, sluggishly trailing behind him, also put his two hands together in front and mimicked, ”Teacher, everything is smooth here.”

Ruth shook his head helplessly and pointed at the door: ”Your task is complete, you can go back.”

On the hand Hill deliberately kept visible, the purple diamond on the two storage rings gleamed brightly... his reward has been received, allowing him to definitely depart.
