Surviving The Fourth Calamity

A bit of brains, but not much.

This is Hill’s final assessment.

Glaysia probably used all her brains in her battles of wit and courage against her dad and his followers, which led to her making such a crazy move.

Maybe she thought Lansendel felt lonely here alone, so she specially invited Celene?

This rough and overly primitive Moon Prayer Dance could indeed be sensed by the Goddess of the Silvermoon, and there’s a natural reason behind it.

As Toril’s Primordial Goddess, the initial faith Celene received originally came from beasts with a hint of intelligence.

The beasts worshipped the moon hoping for better food and longer life, and back then deities were willing to extend their hands to such sincere cries for help.

Take, for example, Shantia.

Those powerful beasts surrounding her were accumulated during that period.

As Toril became more complete, and beasts grew smarter, along with the emergence of various races, rituals gradually turned into ceremonies.

The Toril Gods initially didn’t know much about receiving and utilizing faith and eventually learned from foreign deities. Their nature was probably indifferent, hence learning how to use Faith Power to maintain their power and protect their enjoyment happened quite fast.

Thus, they only displayed disdain for such primitive sacrificing, but they were never truly unable to hear it.

Of course, this refers to those born as deities.

In some ways, Celene is the only one who will always be the Goddess of the Silvermoon.

For those close to her, her unchanging nature is the biggest bother, but for Toril... only the phrase ”Silvermoon is eternally changeless” is real.

Celene will be the navigator in the mist, the eternal guide, not simply because she governs the Silvermoon.

Even when the Silvermoon is gone, there will be starlight twinkling, there will always be a special star to serve as a marker so people won’t get lost, like Hill, who thinks of the North Star when thinking of direction.

But in the Fantasy World, which often blinds the eyes and conceals the senses, the sun, moon, and stars might turn out to be illusory.

People can only call upon the moon in their hearts for help... But to carve a firm enough moon in one’s heart, the basic requirement is that sentence: ’Silvermoon is eternally changeless; when you speak, she is there.’

The moons of other worlds don’t have the unwavering resolve of Celene.

Even if she is chaotic, her core is strong enough that no one can change it.

Thus, such beast-like prayer rituals are most likely to be transmitted to the distant Celene of Toril... Could it be that Glaysia thinks there are no lexical clues in that crab-like dance?

Beasts indeed only howl, but they also change their pitch and steps with the moon’s rise and fall, don’t they?

She just copied the whole set... Glaysia dares to claim she loves music?

Even Hill, who has only a preliminary understanding of music, can sense the calling of a certain presence when some rhythms play over and over.

Don’t beasts give the moon their own unique name?

Once some pitches are accepted by Celene, naturally, the same pitches in the Multiverse will point to her... Whether she looks or listens is one thing, but she can indeed receive it in her Moon God Nation!

Even if Celene is uninterested in other world affairs and thus lets Glaysia barely accomplish this thing, but that’s Celene!

Who knows if she’ll get too bored and give Glaysia a slap... Daring to extend dirty evil hands toward the Power of the Silvermoon, no matter how big Celene’s reaction is, it is understandable.

Returning to the previous topic... Not wanting to do it is one thing, but being able to do it is another.

Deities are indeed high above. If there’s no need for faith, they rarely go to other worlds to eliminate evil, but... Can’t ignore their existence just because you think they are too lazy to meddle in affairs!

How exactly did Asmodius raise his daughter?

Hill believes his previous judgment of Glaysia wouldn’t be wrong... She does have a personal agenda with Bisozeya’s resurrection, but she definitely doesn’t want to stop her mother from being resurrected.

At most, she hopes that any potential siblings in the future won’t have bloodlines as pure as hers.

Her dad’s side of the bloodline is not up for her consideration; only her mom’s side could possibly be manipulated.

She is quite clear-headed in this regard, knowing her troublemaking, unruly behavior in Hell isn’t because her dad loves his daughter madly, but because her bloodline from Hell’s Royal Family is the purest.

As long as there isn’t a second one, even when her mother revives later, grateful for Asmodeus’s persistent efforts and willing to give him a litter of siblings, she would still be the most important Duke of Hell’s Princess.

So, Glaysia is merely pretentious, certainly not aiming to completely prevent her mother’s resurrection.

She surely hasn’t realized this Moon Prayer Dance points explicitly to that Silvermoon.

Isn’t it said that a Battle Angel can pick a leaf and play a tune?

His daughter is almost like a tone-deaf person.

Or is this the nature of the Devil... so these Great Devils appear to appreciate art and music, but in reality, they can’t understand or hear it at all. They just distinguish between true and false, good and bad, based on the desires condensed in these works of art, right?

No wonder there are always stories of Devils being deceived by merchants coming out.

This is also why Hill suddenly lost his fighting spirit and shifted all his interest to Rommel, who was about to arrive at that time... he suddenly realized that even if he hadn’t come, Asmodeus’s schemes probably wouldn’t have a good end.

It’s all thanks to him having a good daughter.

Although the Lord of Hell was also mentally prepared for his daughter’s destructive power, and actually knows what happened more or less, otherwise, his first reaction wouldn’t be to smash the moon when he’s angry.

But Hill believes he absolutely didn’t know that Glaysia would actually take Celene out to play!

Even Asmodeus himself wouldn’t dare.

The Primordial Goddess of Toril can be schemed against in secret, but... absolutely cannot be openly opposed.

Generally speaking, if anyone wanted to plot against the two sisters, they would have to hide behind one of them.

Shaer can attract all of Celene’s attention, and vice versa.

If someone dares do anything while the two are not yet fighting... wasn’t Rose’s lesson deep enough?

Glaysia really overturned many of his stereotypes about Devils.

Typically, when faced with uncertainties, especially those closely related to their future, Devils will choose to be more cautious.

So, once the traces of a Devil are discovered, you can basically follow the usual logic to find their tracks.

But even so, Devils, especially Great Devils, will only reflect on where they didn’t hide well enough to reveal a flaw, and would not choose to pioneer a new, perilous path.

If a Devil takes a new path, then it must be after countless probes... in some aspects, humans from the Evil Faction are really good assistants... and only when they’re at least eighty percent sure, will they take action.

Moreover, they would proceed with extreme caution, ready to flee at any moment, absolutely not daring to just forge ahead recklessly.

Glaysia’s courage was akin to Lansendel.

Truly, Hill’s first thought was that Hell also had its own Lansendel.

And look, the principles of their birth are quite similar.

Asmodeus was originally the first Angel in the Heavenly Mountain, the purest life created from pure life energy.

Although he eventually became evil, in many beings’ eyes... his fall wasn’t due to Asmodeus himself, but because he was born at the most inappropriate time and place.

If the Angels had been born before the Gods of Order gained control of the Heavenly Mountain, then the myth of the Multiverse might have been a different story.

Although Asmodeus himself doesn’t think so... in his opinion, if not for such a time and environment, the Angels born wouldn’t be battle Angels like them.

Their emergence was originally due to the selfishness of those Gods of Order.

Thus, when this Lord of Hell interacts with other powerful beings, he refutes such idle remarks without hesitation.

But he can never deny that he was originally born pure.

And Bisozeya, as the last member of the Hell’s Royal Family... Devils are inherently beings of spirit and flesh combined; hence, the so-called Royal Family naturally embodies the Hell’s Law, being the Darkness itself.

Similarly, Angels are also beings of spirit and flesh combined.

The birth of Glaysia from the two of them, and that first glimmer of light created by the Eternal Flame in the Darkness... Lansendel, indeed have points of similarity to some degree.

At least their lines of thinking are somewhat alike.

When Hill thought of this, all his interest shifted to Rommel.

He was really lazy to think about the troubles of this world... especially when he recalled how cautious he was initially, how determined he was, even prepared to face death, Hill felt so damn... unpromising.

Next time he encounters such a thing, he will definitely handle it with much more composure.

After all, although the enemy is strong, the disgruntled elements within the enemy might be more helpful to him.

Celene might not be interested in other worlds, but when she finds out that the world calling her has attracted Lansendel’s attention, and that the Great Peacock is still lost outside, she will definitely intervene.

Such an interesting spectacle, just by pointing a direction and she can watch it unfold, how could she refrain?

Fortunately, Rommel’s existence made everything Hill did worthwhile.

Of course, he could also console himself... in the end, the most annoyed one would definitely not be him, but the Lord of Hell, who planned a lot and even counted his foolish daughter in.
