Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rommel, in the end, still relied on his silver tongue to reject Gracia’s first attempt at giving him flowers.

Although he was forced to use the excuse that ’Moonlight Rose’ was a flower more suited to beautiful ladies with delicate ears, rather than a serious and earnest male mage like himself.

Even though Gracia didn’t quite agree with his view and even felt that the Moonlight Rose matched him well, after Rommel showed an unusual resistance towards this flower, the Princess of Hell still compromised.

However, her behavior was so greasy, it was like... Rommel thought for a while and ended up using the Undead Tribe’s evaluation... just a glance at her made his eyes feel smeared with lard.

Watching Gracia leave gracefully, Rommel knew he had dug a hole for himself: next time, if the flowers Gracia sends aren’t of this particularly exquisite and flamboyant type, he really won’t be able to refuse again.

But with what he knew about Gracia... Rommel couldn’t help but marvel, this was really the first time he took the initiative to learn so much about someone he had known for less than a month.

The Draculus of the past rarely let people he didn’t like leave any impression on him.

Even for those he somewhat admired, it would take a few meetings before he would remember them.

Including Fran.

If it wasn’t for discovering that the male mage entangled with the Half-Elf Princess had a bit of a connection to him, Draculus wouldn’t have remembered who he was after watching the drama, even though he had already talked to Fran and even eaten the food Fran made.

So Draculus always thought his indifference couldn’t be broken by anything.

It turns out, even after living for so many years, he didn’t know what he could do until he was driven to a dead end.

But now, he could almost immediately predict Gracia’s future actions.

This Princess of Hell is an absolutely confident person.

What she finds very beautiful and likes immensely, she will definitely try hard to make the people she values like them too.

Being rejected once is no big deal. Next time, who knows, maybe Rommel will, out of seeing her genuine intentions, come to like another type of flower she brings.

So Rommel still has a few chances to refuse... as long as he can persist without being swayed by the so-called sincerity of the strong.

The Kamente Tower has been worried about this recently, haven’t they?

Although the Princess of Hell is a greasy princess, she is indeed the strongest person within a mortal’s reach.

Many people willingly take the bait of her oily hook that even a fish wouldn’t stay on, all by grabbing the fishing line themselves.

After all, she is truly powerful.

Her ability to arrogantly adhere to her greasy style comes from the confidence her status and power give her.

Draculus certainly doesn’t look down on himself like that.

But outsiders, especially the mages in this world who prioritize survival above all, may not think this way.

In their eyes, Rommel will eventually compromise.

Rommel can only be glad that this Princess of Hell seemed to be in a hurry, discovering that Rommel had never accepted her gift and rushing in to make up for the neglect her beloved had endured.

It seems Gracia has indeed encountered many men who won’t be swayed by wealth or riches... after all, although this Princess of Hell has slightly impaired vision, she’s not blind.

The people she finds worthy, regardless of their personality, generally aren’t lacking in capability.

Rommel pondered his understanding of the mages from the White Tower whom Gracia valued... he wasn’t at the point of looking down on the mages forced to help Gracia give gifts to her new lover.

Even though these people showed hostility towards Rommel.

But part of him was aware of whom that hostility was really directed at.

Of course, some of them were genuinely foolish.

Rommel certainly wouldn’t bother with the fools, as they could only stare at the door of his magic tower with wide eyes.

They didn’t even dare to throw those gifts directly on the ground.

Even if displeased, they still handled them with care, didn’t they?

As for Gracia, who sent gifts to the male mage she pursued through a male pet... there’s really nothing left to say.

Anyway, from Rommel’s observation of these gentlemen during this period, they would never actively tell Gracia what kind of bouquet and gift would leave Rommel no choice but to accept.

He didn’t need to take back that statement for now.

He sighed heavily, cast the heaviest gaze outside the tower, and slowly closed the door of his magic tower.

At this moment, he had only one hope in mind: that Little Bear only watches the fun, and doesn’t join in.

-----------------

Hilbert is not the kind of villain like Draculus who takes pleasure in others’ misfortune.

Even if he laughed so heartily that he broke a new table, he would not go to Gracia and talk about this.

Rommel’s attempts to voice his dissatisfaction with these flowers, pushing the friction between him and Gracia under the excuse of differing gender aesthetics, was enough to make him happy all day.

Yet he wasn’t without some insight.

Gracia made another appearance after the attack on Delphus and the others.

In other words, although she’s still making up for her mistakes... of course, in her eyes, this can’t be considered a mistake, it’s just her father caught her doing something again.

However, Glaysia should be able to confirm that some things won’t happen in this world, and the importance of her little slip-up has significantly declined to the point where Asmodeus won’t bother to deal with her personally anymore.

Of course, she still has to clean up the minor blunders on the surface, but overall, she’s temporarily safe.

In this case, the existence of Lansendel is probably no longer a secret... Hill reckons that even if Asmodeus can still struggle, it’s just a matter of days.

But judging by the attitude Glaysia has shown, it can be seen that the Lord of Hell is rather composed.

So, he probably isn’t genuinely unable to hold on but has chosen to retreat after achieving his main goal.

Hilbert can understand the choice of the Lord of Hell.

Even he knows that dealing with Lansendel can’t be dragged on until he gets irritated and restless.

When the Lord of Dawn is interested, he can persist for a long time, and the longer he persists, the less likely he is to give up.

Even if he’s restless and irritable, he must see the result.

At this time, Lansendel is the most troublesome.

Moreover, he actually holds grudges.

If Asmodeus doesn’t want Hell’s every plan on Toril disrupted by the Dawn Church... Lansendel is capable of issuing an oracle like ”The Lord of Hell has displeased me, so, my followers, I wish for no peace for any devil on Toril.”

He will definitely choose the right time to give up.

Serious people don’t compete with madmen.

Although Hilbert can understand some of Lansendel’s actions, he absolutely cannot understand how Asmodeus, who has his own purpose for everything, does things.

Unfortunately, Lansendel’s strength is enough that even though he cannot understand, he has to respect it.

Hill quite hopes his future can be just as strong... However, he knows that as long as he is a reasonable person, he doesn’t have that fate.

However, Asmodeus gave up earlier than he imagined.

Hill thinks that’s because the worlds used by the Lord of Hell to stall for time did not go as he wished.

How to say... Lansendel is still kind after all.

Although in his madness, he doesn’t care whether mortals suffer heavy casualties due to his rage... of course, when his sanity returns, he will still make amends for these mortal losses.

But for deities, the so-called amends are only for the survivors.

But among those deities who won’t even do this, Lansendel is already considered quite good.

At least he still knows: oh, a group of mortals suffered because of my mistake.

And he admits it was his mistake.

So, while he is still rational, he wouldn’t harm those worlds which still have human existence for the sake of pursuing a certain goal, or because of the interest provoked by Asmodeus.

Even if ninety percent are evil, a being like Lansendel would still hold back because of the ten percent normal people.

In the past, evil deities mostly used similar methods to stall the footsteps of these benevolent deities.

Lansendel can act similarly when he is not insane.

Hill doesn’t even need to think to know what method Lansendel used to break Asmodeus’s conspiracy at such speed.

The Undead Tribe must have been sent to those worlds by him.

No matter what means Asmodeus used to transmit the aura of this world to those other worlds, when all the devils and all the evil people were annihilated, any of his methods could only be scrapped.

No matter how powerful the strategy, it needs manpower to execute.

Hill couldn’t help but let out a light ”hiss” and looked over at Rommel with a sympathetic gaze.

Glaysia evidently does not intend to leave before Sia Tower is attacked.

If she has to flee, holding onto Rommel, then Draculus will inevitably reveal his true form.

In front of all attackers.

Click-click~

Unless Rommel plans a tour of Hell, he’ll definitely lose face.

Of course, Hill estimates that by then he himself will also not be able to remain hidden... Draculus will surely spill Hill’s presence to attract the attention of the Undead Tribe.

And also divert Glaysia’s attention a bit.

Yet, Hilbert raised an eyebrow like Glaysia... he had long gotten used to it! What’s another Little Bear song?

He’s already read ”Hill’s Biography: The Toril Chapter”! What’s there to be afraid of?

Then Hill couldn’t help but cover his cheeks and let out a ”hiss,” such a slick move, he better not imitate it.
