Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Devils are always the wise ones who can share wealth but never share hardships.

So, when preparing various ways to escape, they absolutely won’t reveal their true feelings to the other party, even if Fengo is Mack’s superior and can decide Mack’s future and life, it’s not enough for Mack to tell him the truth.

As for Fengo, it’s even more needless to mention; he’s always had a strong sense of crisis.

The job of a Hell Prosecutor is essentially being a tyrant for the king, relying on oppressive rule and a mad-dog style to make all Hell Devils fear him.

He seems strong, but in reality, he can only hold his ground relying on the power and majesty of Asmodeus.

Therefore, what Fengo fears most is always the next version of himself.

Dukes like Mack are precisely the individuals he guards against.

Everything went smoothly before, but at this juncture, it’s apparent the Lord of Hell’s scheme is about to fail; with Asmodeus sure to angrily seek responsible parties... No matter what sin Glaysia has committed, it’s unrelated to Lansendel’s appearance... The Black Robe Faction responsible for monitoring various external Magic Towers naturally has to come forward and assume the blame.

Especially regarding the various decisions made against the Defense Tower... Delphus squatted in the Sia Tower for such a long time with that so-called ’Orderly Gem’!

It’s bound to be due to their mistake; failing to detect the most crucial root cause while monitoring the Defense Tower led to this outcome.

Just like now, the awkward position of Delphus handling the issue.

Every devil knows the best solution is to completely eradicate Delphus, who holds the ’Orderly Gem,’ and it’s preferable to toss that worn-out diamond far away, like into the Bottomless Abyss or similar places.

But, who can act?

Who dares to act?

Being killed might be one thing; after all, it’s over once and for all.

But what if they get purified?

The most terrifying thing about the Lord of Dawn is not the all-consuming fire, but his madness in wanting to turn devils into angels!

Wasn’t Rosero running away exactly because of this?

Glaysia is always accompanied by succubi transformed from fallen angels.

They are the ones most likely to have massive trouble unveiled by that ’Order Jewel.’

Thinking about such a significant event of purified angels returning to purity happening under one’s watch, who wouldn’t want to run?

Those succubi are direct subordinates of Asmodeus!

But Rosero still has the chance to escape, whereas Fengo and Mack definitely don’t have such a prospect.

The Lord of Hell is never a good-natured leader... Things have already gone awry, if they can’t even handle the clean-up, the outcome is bound to be tragic.

Being a tyrant’s enforcer is never easy; colleagues are the greatest enemies.

They haven’t enjoyed good days for long and now have to start guarding against colleagues once more!

”Gilbert.” Aislin spoke impatiently, ”Can you listen to me seriously?”

”I’m listening.” Hilbert replied with even greater impatience, ”But isn’t what you’re saying just nonsense?

With this much time, I might as well lead the students to give the Magic Tower another coat of varnish!”

”What’s your problem?” Aislin glanced at Gilbert, who was standing beside the Magic Tower with a big brush, unable to agree, ”The defensive power of your Magic Tower is almost catching up to our teacher’s main tower!

Why are you still painting it?”

”Fireproof paint.” Hilbert answered seriously, ”Don’t you think the last big fire was terrifying?”

”Where was it terrifying?” Aislin couldn’t help but touch the outer side of the Magic Tower, which had already been painted varnish by Gilbert, and left five small dents in the thick layer of soft membrane, ”Did you invent this paint?

The color is beautiful; I want some too!”

”Can you keep your hands to yourself?” Hilbert flew down from the sky, quickly painting over the fingerprints to smooth them out with the big brush, ”If you want, you can mix it yourself, I’ve sent the formula to the main tower.”

”Huh?” Aislin was a bit puzzled, ”You’re really wary of Delphus!

Actually, there’s no need. Rosero sent me a message saying he plans to take Delphus to check out the Defense Tower.

He wants to know where Delphus got that Great Diamond and is thinking of searching again.”

”How did you reply to him?” Hilbert’s hand momentarily stiffened, turning to look at her.

”Why should I reply to him?” Aislin said confidently, ”It’s got nothing to do with me.”

Hmm... This way of handling it is indeed somewhat aligned with Glaysia’s style.

But, as someone who understands well from whom that blazing fire’s glory emanates, Glaysia’s response is a bit too calm... Rosero surely can guess that Glaysia’s avatar is having issues.

”Maybe you should ask him if you can go with him.” Hilbert pondered for a moment before reminding Aislin.

Aislin first responded with ’Huh?’ then quickly realized, ”You think, if it’s that guy, he’ll choose to go with him?”

”Isn’t that inevitable?” Hilbert gave her an astonished glance, ”Given the current situation, it’s evident that the Tower Master has made a huge mess; everyone is waiting for them above to clean it up!

As one of the sources of trouble, your presence is problematic!

Otherwise, why would Rosero bother to inform you before leaving himself?

He’s about to leave; why would he care about the Tower Master’s orders!”

As for Aislin, she truly doesn’t use her brain at all.

Aislin suddenly folded her arms and frowned: ”So, when the teacher said I should consider going out with Rosero to see the outside world, it’s not because I annoyed him?”

”What have you done now?” Hilbert found that he wasn’t even surprised... Once he realized what this guy was, no matter how off-topic Aislin’s words were, he could face them calmly.

Luckily, he activated the full defense mode of the Magic Tower the moment Aislin arrived.

”Why are you so cautious?” Aislin pouted, ”Your Magic Tower’s defensive mode is even stronger than that of Nicholson’s side!”

”What did you go to see Great Magician Nicholson for?” Hilbert sighed, decisively collecting the paint bucket, and then gestured towards Russell and Carpenter, who were listening dumbfoundedly, to indicate they should swiftly return to their rooms to shutter their ears.

Some things aren’t suitable for them to hear.

”I’ve been a bit uncertain lately, so I went to ask Great Magician Nicholson for a prophecy.” Aislin said casually, ”The teacher found out but didn’t say anything.”

”Seems you’re quite satisfied with the prophecy?” Hilbert asked thoughtfully.

”Ah~ He said I will usher in the most brilliant light.” Aislin’s tone was slightly confused, ”The teacher said such ambiguous prophecies from Great Magician Nicholson could actually be true.

If they were specific, it could signify self-deception.

Then the teacher said this light can’t appear at the Sia Tower, so, since Rosero said he intends to leave, it might be better for me to go out with him.

No way!

If something’s really going to happen, it’s bound to occur here at Sia Tower!

I thought it’s because I mentioned those things that upset the teacher, so he doesn’t want to see me hovering around him.”

Hilbert reluctantly grasped one of his wrists, fingers constantly twining around the cat’s eye stone bracelet, appearing to be in a rather complex emotional state: ”The teacher has always acted from a place of reason.

Despite how annoying you are, the teacher would only hope for a good outcome for you.

Otherwise... you would’ve long been kicked out of the Tower of Dark Enigma.”

”Tsk~ But for some reason, I just don’t want to leave.” Aislin pouted in dissatisfaction.

”Cooing at me will only yield the opposite result.” Hilbert said firmly, ”I too hope you scram quickly.

Can you refrain from bothering me?”

”That won’t do; I can only chat with you right now!” Aislin completely disregarded Hilbert’s harsh words... once accustomed, dealing with the sharp-tongued Gilbert becomes straightforward.

”What did you do with Koyl and Rojas?” Hilbert didn’t need to think much to guess what had happened.

”Just reminding them to do things properly.” Aislin avoided the core issue.

”You’re really hopeless, there’s a reason the teacher wants you out.” Hilbert sighed.

”So, I can stay, right?”

”First, discuss with Rosero and see what he says!” Hilbert chuckled, ”Though the other party may not want you to accompany him, not addressing this question is the biggest issue.”
