Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The reason Hilbert showed interest in revealing himself to outsiders was not just because he didn’t want to disturb Rommel’s plans... If he had any issues, the proud disciple of Kamente Tower he had sought out and spent a long time with alone would also have problems.

Moreover, because the battle on the screen had come to an end.

Delphus got what he wished for... Just when he dared not easily take out the ’Order Jewel’ for a risky attack, that Black-Clothed Mage used nearly all his strength to unleash two Eighth Ring Necromancy Spells on him: Black Flame Technique.

Hilbert could see clearly that Gilbert used this spell outwardly to spread over everyone around, forcing them to resist desperately... The spreading ability of the Black Flame Technique cannot be exempted by ordinary defensive spells.

Of course, it’s not to the extent that it can’t be extinguished, but it will inevitably consume a large amount of Mana.

The purest water and purest light can suppress this Black Flame Technique... Unfortunately, no one there had the ability.

But in essence, Gilbert was likely more interested in the nauseating effect of the Black Flame Technique.

A weakened physique and a weakened soul are the aftereffects of being burned by the Black Flame Technique... Gilbert just wanted to see Delphus vomit uncontrollably while holding his stomach in front of him.

Delphus indeed did not expect that these two Eighth Ring Spells would have effects far surpassing any Ninth Ring Spells he had seen.

So he was quite flustered... Casting spells while vomiting was also a first for him.

Hilbert seriously watched Russell and Carpenter, pointing at the screen without turning his head, where Delphus, already lying on the ground but still having to hunch over and vomit weakly behind Rosero: ”See? This is the outcome for fools who lack skill and still like to run their mouths!”

Russell couldn’t help but lower his head and laugh... He could better understand the profound meaning of this sentence.

Delphus was indeed insulting someone to their face, he truly deserved such an end.

Carpenter, not understanding some aspects, focused more on the ’Black Flame Technique’: ”Teacher, although Delphus indeed deserved it, what should we do if we encounter such spells?

I observed carefully; in fact, Delphus did try to resist the vomiting, but he found ways to extinguish the black flames, yet the vomiting never ceased.

Is there no way to counteract it with spell effects?”

”That’s why I said his skills are lacking!” Hilbert replied softly, ”This kind of spell clearly tests one’s constitution and resistance.

If it could be counteracted by spells, his Magical Shield wouldn’t have disappeared, and he wouldn’t have started vomiting.

So, when faced with similar situations, the first reaction should be to enhance one’s virtual constitution and resistance.

And, Carpenter, don’t just look at the surface.

Although the black flames on Delphus disappeared, the black smoke surrounding him remains, proving he merely extinguished the visible flames that weakened his physique; the dark fire aimed at his soul persists.

He simply lay down... Although half of his motive was to appear weak in front of Rosero and Aislin, this was far too foolish.

Does Rosero seem like someone who would use his good stuff to save him?

It’s definitely about forcibly suppressing this soul black fire.

Heh~

Delphus will still suffer greatly.”

”Teacher, are you saying Delphus has ways to save himself?” Russell seemed to catch on slightly.

”He can’t get Positive Energy, but Pure Water—a Ninth Ring Mage with a Magic Tower—how could he not have a little?

The Elemental Pool collects Pure Water slowly, but it gathers a few drops a year.

Delphus likely fought with the Tower of Necromancy and had only encountered that less pure, more physique-targeting Minor Black Flame Spell; hence, he underestimated it, heh~ This envoy’s spell from the Styx deals the greatest harm to the soul.

If he doesn’t take the Pure Water soon, by the time he reaches the Defense Tower, Delphus would be another person.

Look, Rosero...”

The White-Robed Male Mage merely rolled his eyes and gave Delphus a ’Dissolve the Undead’... Rosero was indeed extraordinarily strong.

The power of the spells he cast was definitively only something an Archmage of Level 20 or above could achieve.

However, Hil saw that this spell only barely ended the Black Flame’s continued burning and did not alleviate the soul damage already sustained by Delphus.

Nonetheless, Rosero truly epitomized a Duke of Demons... He had several means to end the soul-burning black fire on Delphus but chose this energy transfer method.

He likely knew that the Black-Clothed Mage on the opposite side must be an envoy of the Styx, very clear that the energy of the ’Black Flame’ must be very pure; hence, he didn’t hesitate to transfer this energy to heal himself.

The injury he sustained was merely to save Delphus, having punched through the combined assault from Gilbert and the Bone Giant.

According to Hil’s observation, at most, he had some bone fractures.

Rosero was still quite smart, preferring to test his strength against the Bone Giant rather than end up vomiting like Delphus.

Although he’s undoubtedly aware of the method to terminate the spell... But with his personality, he absolutely wouldn’t show such an undignified appearance in front of Aislin, the embodiment of Glaysia.

Even if he terminated it quickly, he’d still vomit a couple of times.

Gilbert, truly a ruthless character who helped Hil establish a massive empire, is particularly adept at grasping others’ sore points.

Hil had seen some interesting stories in his memory... Yet, those past events not witnessed firsthand were even clearer when viewed right now.

Indeed, a very intriguing person.

Of course, Gilbert had quietly vanished from the screen, departing together with that black dragon, seemingly fighting earthshakingly but actually bluffing the entire time.

Everyone in the scene except Aislin was more or less injured.

Normally, as an Eighth Ring Mage, Aislin should look after the two Ninth Ring Mages... However, she adeptly utilized her side as the Princess of Hell.

She lazily remarked, ”Looks like we can’t leave today; why don’t you hurry and carry your masters inside?”

Accompanying Rosero, clutching his arm, she lightly floated into the big red airship she had cast out.

Before entering, she complained impatiently, ”Damn, I actually have to let a bunch of ugly men into my Red Cloud!”

She even named her airship.

Rosero could only comfort her softly, ”Miss Aislin, once everything is over, I will make a better and prettier spaceship for you.

These airships, perhaps, will be of little use in the future.”

Aislin was puzzled and asked him, ”Why? Lan...”

”My dear lady~” Rosero quickly stopped her, ”Some things, knowing is enough, don’t say it out loud, okay?

Aren’t you afraid of who you might be talking about?

We came out willingly, not because we truly wanted to meet that one face to face!”

Although Aislin had recently behaved a bit oddly, she was not so unreasonable as to ignore such sound advice.

”Alright~ But only if you promise to build me a Moonship when we get back.” From Glaysia’s memories, she had acquired much knowledge about luxury and enjoyment, immediately finding what she most desired.

”No problem, absolutely no problem~” Rosero responded with determination, ”I will personally mine the Moonstone for you and craft the most beautiful Moonship in this world!”

Hil chuckled... not because of Aislin’s obsession with the moon, but because even at this moment, Rosero remained so cunning: In this world, there was likely only this one Moonship.

Even if others heard the name, they wouldn’t know what it looks like!

”Teacher, what does a Moonship look like? Is it very beautiful?” Carpenter asked curiously.

Hilbert smiled and shook his head, ”Flying strange objects from other worlds are not so singular.

The Moonship is indeed elegant and beautiful, but it’s only considered decent, not the most beautiful.

Aislin, however, favors the moon more.”

”Preferences differ, so what one sees differs too, right?” Carpenter pondered... even forgetting to question Hilbert about how many types there are of flying strange objects and which type he preferred.

Realizing this point greatly benefits her illusion techniques, Hil nodded approvingly: In the future, after seeing more wonders, Carpenter likely wouldn’t be any less than Aislin.
