Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Fengo was very confused.

Why would Glaysia, who should be the most eager for Bisozeya’s resurrection, instead do something detrimental to this?

But he would never say a word more on this matter.

No one is certain what Asmodeus truly thinks about Bisozeya’s resurrection... Hell is always the place with the most rumors.

Everyone has their own demons within, so they can imagine even more sinister ghostly figures.

Bisozeya’s death was too unexpected, and who exactly did it... the possibilities include undercover demons to Asmodeus himself; nearly all have been guessed.

In Hell, so many Dukes of Demons desire to gain something by following the Lord of Hell, yet none dare to speak too much or act excessively about this!

However, no one in Hell ever doubted Glaysia, who had a bit of a mind that could confuse demons.

At that time, she was still deeply immersed in the love with Mamon, incapable of extricating herself, unable even to face the reality of her mother’s death.

But the current Fengo couldn’t help but wonder: could it be that she, at the time, also had a bit...?

”Rommel, would you... be willing to occasionally visit the White Tower as a guest?” The sweet and syrupy voice carried a tune that made Fengo’s skin crawl.

No, Glaysia herself surely had no problem back then.

At most she was used by someone.

Although there are indeed those among demons who are very good at pretending, Glaysia is definitely not included.

She is innately like this... No one of Glaysia’s identity and status, who has been intimately exposed to Asmodeus and Bisozeya, would disguise themselves so witlessly.

With the intelligence and initiative to disguise oneself like this, The Wise Ones would definitely not make things so difficult for themselves in such a favorable environment.

Or rather, they would absolutely understand Glaysia’s indispensable identity in Hell, and definitely find better ways to arrange themselves.

Back then, Glaysia was just brainless and rebellious.

Moreover, Bisozeya is a person who demands very high standards from her environment and servants, her Hell Palace was oppressive and cold; although she greatly pampered her daughter, making Glaysia enjoy herself more than Asmodeus, but no one dared to teach Glaysia such a way of speaking.

Asmodeus has no other lover, she simply wasn’t exposed to such an environment.

She is just naturally fond of things that can make both Asmodeus and Bisozeya’s faces change dramatically.

It’s unknown whether it was the Abyssal Will that fully cursed when they were planning to have a child.

As for what Glaysia is up to now... Fengo feels he absolutely can’t guess correctly.

The behavior of The Wise Ones is actually easy to predict, as long as you know the environment and timing, along with their character and abilities.

There may be some discrepancies, even if a perspective hasn’t been anticipated by the other, but after knowing the result, the cause and effect can also be inferred.

But it’s different with someone like Glaysia whose brain isn’t quite normal.

She also has her reasons... The most terrifying thing is indeed this point, sometimes Fengo really wishes Glaysia were more like Abyssal Demons, without reason, just doing what she feels like!

It’s just that those reasons are too absurd, completely unlike something a rational person would come up with.

Anyway, The Wise Ones shouldn’t meddle with the affairs of fools, especially when this fool has a high status, a strong destructive power, and not only can no one provoke her, but she also has scarier entities scheming behind her.

Though Fengo thought a lot, his silence actually lasted only 30 seconds.

To others, this ’Black Artist’ from Sia Tower merely let out a few bitter laughs before resolutely speaking again: ”Though I will definitely adhere to your will, there are some matters I am unable to handle for you.

Please explain to your elders yourself.”

His tone was very humble, but everyone could hear the firmness in it.

Those who understood their identity naturally knew this elder referred to Asmodeus.

Those who didn’t would only think Fengo meant Bisozeya.

Of course, he hadn’t uttered a single lie... fully adhering to the principles of his role as a subordinate, never to say any words affecting his superior, including the superior’s wife and children.

Rommel was that person who understood.

And she was very clear that Fengo wasn’t truly trying to suppress Glaysia with the Lord of Hell; instead, he was reminding her to quickly make amends for her misdeeds!

This subtle attitude quickly conveyed a message to Rommel: the position and pattern of behavior Glaysia holds in Hell are best not analyzed with the usual demonic methods.

But, he also sensed another more secretive message... Fengo was probing him.

Rommel didn’t pay much attention to this.

After all, Fengo unquestionably knew his identity only after entering the Tower of Dark Enigma, the previous identity had been torn apart as per usual.

The reason demons truly don’t care about the family and subordinates secretly held by the Archmages they control isn’t because they have absolute trust in the means of controlling these people... the control is only over those Archmages, not others.

It’s not because they have absolute trust in their own abilities.

Demons are inherently suspicious, their show of confidence is merely a facade they want those watching to believe. Repeated probing and observation is their true nature.

The reason they’ve always maintained a laissez-faire attitude is mainly because no matter how these Archmages’ subordinates turn out, their influence would only spill over onto the other Great Magic Towers.

Even if some people have special identities, or enter the Sia Tower through the Hand of the Mage controlled by those souls, the demons can investigate them one by one.

But that was in the past.

Now, with the massive migration of nearly ten thousand from the Tower of Dark Enigma, it’s naturally bringing some pressure to the Sia Tower.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have created the Soul Elixir incident in the Tower of Dark Enigma.

Rommel realized it on the later part of the migration route.

The demons certainly don’t care about Pulter being dealt with, at most it’s a small regret over the loss of some money.

But because of the Soul Elixir, they planted countless nails in the Tower of Dark Enigma.

There are always those who, in order to obtain a bottle of Soul Elixir... even though they know it comes with side effects, most would be willing to prepare one as a last resort... to carefully observe if there are any problems with the people around them.

Furthermore, carrying out such actions doesn’t burden their conscience.

The Tower of Dark Enigma has already submitted to the Sia Tower.

Even if Ruth and those Archmages know the inside story, how could they tell the public?

So, in the minds of these Mages, reporting malicious colleagues for the safety of the Sia Tower is seen as a justified act.

As for whether they know there must be dirt between the Tower of Dark Enigma and Sia Tower... they probably understand, but they definitely pretend not to.

Those struggling at the bottom hardly care about the battles of those above.

As long as life is good, how many care if their company gets swallowed by a bigger one through various means?

Even among the direct students of the Three Great Tower Masters, some might hold this view.

Mages, by nature, tend to think more for themselves.

Just like Teraxil back in the day.

Like his deceased students with a shred of conscience, and those he purged from his school, who had fully transformed into pitiless, heartless demons.

Rommel listened without batting an eyelid to Glaysia stamping her feet in dissatisfaction, angrily arguing with Fengo how her actions were perfectly normal, not needing to report upwards, yet he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

The argument between Glaysia and Fengo ended quickly.

Rommel could sense she was merely trying to demonstrate her actions were correct, wouldn’t provoke elder displeasure, rather than truly worrying the report would anger supposed elders.

He could understand, yet couldn’t comprehend.

Only respectful and cautious behavior were fitting for a normal Seventh Circle Mage... even if his talents were outstanding, astute, capable, rational, and stable.

Rommel’s fingers twitched slightly, wondering if some Great Devils cast a curse on him before dying... after all, some of those students had long followed him, knowing his true name.

”Rommel, I’m heading back first then~” Glaysia stomped her feet in dissatisfaction, pressing her full chest against Rommel’s arm a few times before reluctantly leaving and vanished from sight.

She didn’t even acknowledge Ruth and Nicholson a thousand meters away, nor glance back at the Kamente Tower a mere dozen meters behind.

Fengo glanced around: ”Ah... Rosero, since you’re here, greet the Kamente Tower as you did before!

Though regretful, Master of Sia Tower has her reasons, I, as a subordinate, cannot disobey.

Therefore, Ruth, Nicholson, and Kamente Tower, I can only welcome you to the Sia Tower, and for the rest... we must wait for later.

But rest assured, once the Kamente Tower’s Magic Tower is complete, Grand Magus Glacia will certainly not delay further.

Please understand.

Grand Magus Glacia must have something very special happening... otherwise, why would she suddenly appear in Kamente Tower’s airship, right?”

The silence from the people of the Tower of Dark Enigma was deafening.

Even the three factions of mages from the Sia Tower looked at him with admiration... everyone could see what was happening, yet Fengo could shamelessly speak as he did, which was a sort of strength.

Outside the gate of the Sia Tower, though thousands stood, it was so quiet that even the vibration of insect wings could be heard.

Many mages quietly cast spells to hide their form and presence.

But since everyone was doing it, aside from the absence of sound, it didn’t accomplish much.

”Grand Magus Fengo.” Ruth finally spoke slowly, ”Excuse me, I want to know...”
