Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The fight must go on.

Although pretending to be a Stygian River Dragon was somewhat useful, it only prevented direct combat. It wouldn’t be enough to make a Battle Angel skilled in ranged attacks back off completely.

Hill looked a bit regretfully at the lively black dragon above the Cloud Realm and sighed silently.

”Is there something wrong, teacher?” Carpenter asked with concern, ”That dragon seems to be in an illusion and hasn’t really been hit!”

”I’m not concerned about how many arrows hit that dragon.” Hill shook his head and sighed, ”I’m just puzzled as to how Asmodeus is holding out for so long this time?

Guided by Celene, Lansendel ... hissing ... Lansendel wouldn’t have mouthed off to Celene and gotten into trouble, would he?”

Hill thought about it, and this seemed the most likely explanation.

However... though Lansendel’s mouth often got him into trouble, his attitude toward Celene and Shaer was actually quite... they withdrew far away, especially towards Celene who enabled his creation in this world. The Great Peacock might act out occasionally but at crucial moments, it knew when to stay silent.

How could he offend Celene at such a time?

But if it wasn’t because of that... did Asmodeus gain some special ability after devouring that Greek Titan God?

Hill didn’t care about the Lord of Hell devouring Cronos because that guy was really useless.

Whether Gaia or Cronos, the divinity they possessed was almost all reduced to Primordial Dark Power, so no matter how many times they resurrect, they can’t regain the Forces of Sky and Earth.

Especially Cronos, who after resurrection, was closer to the purest Titan Gods, but his attributes... could only follow Gaia.

After all, Uranus would never allow this son to share his Sky Force.

When the original world of the Greek Gods was destroyed, although Uranus struggled to live, he was indeed freed.

Otherwise, he would always just be that sky nailed down in the world, incapable of doing anything but useless rage.

Imagining like now, being able to prepare means for resurrection across the world was even more impossible.

Therefore, even if he didn’t want Gaia and Cronos to know he’s still around, he certainly wouldn’t allow Cronos to borrow his essence again... As the youngest son of Uranus and Gaia, Cronos actually possessed very little divine essence.

He became strong later on by usurping Uranus’s divinity.

Unfortunately, as the world collapsed and he was left without a burial place, that divinity naturally returned to its source.

Even if Asmodeus devoured such a Cronos, at most it deepened his understanding of the essence of Primordial Darkness, granting him divinity related to evil and tyrannical attributes.

And those who can vie for this divinity are either in the Bottomless Abyss or the nine layers of Hell... Asmodeus, wanting more, would naturally target them.

Hill had thought back then, although fate couldn’t be avoided, at least it could skew slightly toward light... If the forces of evil were to collide, it would give mortals with hopes for light a respite.

In a world like Toril, if the Hell Devils and Abyssal Demons started fighting each other, survival space for mortals would greatly improve.

But, if even such circumstances allowed Asmodeus to gain power to stop Lansendel and Celene’s joint efforts... Hill couldn’t help but press his somewhat achy gums: How much sin did the God of Order on Heavenly Mountain commit to have Hill... no, it wasn’t related to him... cause such an incredible deviation in the plot thanks to the Undead Tribe, yet still pull back to the most baffling outcome?

The sudden restoration of health and surge in strength of the Lord of Hell.

Hill couldn’t help but sneer.

If things were really as he thought, Asmodeus suddenly becoming strong enough to directly confront Lansendel and Celene’s collaboration, then this Lord of Hell wouldn’t really need the Styx as a mediator between Abyssal Will anymore.

His scheming against the world might very well shift from domineering suppression to a spectacle.

Though Lansendel and Celene were avoided by mortals and fled from by gods, their presence was also incredibly strong.

The conflict between these two and the Lord of Hell would definitely attract the attention of All Gods in the Multiverse.

Then, Asmodeus taking advantage of this opportunity to do something would seem very natural.

After all, according to normal history, Heavenly Mountain should have been bombed by now.

Though Hill never admitted it, he knew very well that because of his interference, many of Asmodeus’s harmful self-serving plans fell apart... resulting in him still not having completed his greatest task.

Yet, he originally thought that although this matter was significant, it shouldn’t be that urgent.

But now it seems... perhaps the curses encompassing the entire Multiverse, targeting the despicable acts committed by the God of Order who occupied the Positive Energy paradise of Heavenly Mountain, were too heavy, and the river of Fate had to deal with those old fellows first?

Hilbert seriously watched the black dragon darting across the sky... The strength of that Battle Angel was indeed formidable.

Although Hill didn’t know who acted, it was definitely someone above the rank of those squad leaders of the Fallen Angels.

Even around Asmodeus, such Battle Angels did not exceed 10.

The loyalty of Battle Angels of this level to the Lord of Hell can be trusted without doubt.

So, although he certainly wouldn’t want to engage in close combat with the Stygian River Dragon, if forced, he wouldn’t hesitate.

However, in endless battles of attrition like these, Battle Angels with somewhat fiery tempers actually don’t like fighting.

Their courage is unquestionable, just like their notoriously fiery temper.

Just like when they originally turned against Bisozeya, although the personality of the Queen of Hell wasn’t ideal, those angels indeed couldn’t tolerate her.

Even if Asmodeus showed affection for Bisozeya, in the end, he did not force his loyal subordinates to obey the Queen of Hell.

Ultimately, who he truly loves could be discerned from this... If the Lord of Hell had any heart, it would only be towards the followers who entered Hell’s Gate with him.

His proud wife and troublemaking daughter, though deeply loved, Asmodeus never let his Battle Angels become followers of those two ladies except for angels who had fallen into succubi due to certain accidents.

He mostly dispatched native Great Devils of Hell to be their attendants.

Although there are many explanations for this, such as Hell’s Royal Family members requiring the presence of native Great Devils, Hill was very clear... a man who doesn’t share his assets with his wife or grant his daughter inheritance rights to his personal property is definitely untrustworthy.

No matter how nice it sounds, he’s just a guy deducting his post-marriage assets.

Therefore, Hill never believed in those love stories related to the Lord of Hell... He only saw innumerable intrigues.

Otherwise he wouldn’t have thought from the start that the stupidity committed by Glaysia, Asmodeus not only knew but secretly assisted greatly.

Otherwise, with just Glaysia’s wit and action capability, could she deceive Fengo?

That Hell Prosecutor clearly only knew Glaysia was causing trouble, but was unaware she dared to tamper with the Goddess of the Silvermoon’s Divine Crystal.

But Asmodeus obviously knew well.

Hill touched his forehead, couldn’t help but lightly say ’shh’... Asmodeus better know some restraint, don’t play the bait game too long.

If Lansendel and Celene realize what tricks he’s up to, even if initially uninterested, afterward they’ll undoubtedly constantly create trouble for him.

If the Lord of Hell couldn’t focus... then he might just meet the Rose-colored Light of Dawn on Heavenly Mountain.
