Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hilbert’s eyes watched the battle erupt directly on the screen, but his mind began to ponder the future direction of this world.

Over at the Sia Tower, it’s clear they will leave behind some power higher than a Duke to maintain their advantageous position in this world.

Although the Devils are not interested in wasting effort on top-tier battles, they will not retreat too easily... They won’t fight desperately, but they definitely won’t give up what they already have so easily.

For the other two parties to gain more advantage from them, they’ll have to fight for it with their lives.

Then there’s the Defense Tower side, no matter how many are left behind, they will inevitably become followers of the Lord of Dawn.

Lansendel’s followers, those who can reach other worlds, are the most steadfast believers.

If it weren’t for the Defense Tower giving him enough confidence, he definitely wouldn’t have helped them with such a big scheme.

Not to mention that ’Orderly Gem’... the Dawn Elect who dare to play like this definitely aren’t lesser than the one from Deepwater City.

Although they deeply love Lansendel, they never hold back when it comes to their beloved Main God.

Of course, when acting, they rely heavily on Lansendel’s untouchable status to be somewhat wantonly.

For example, that ’Orderly Gem’... such moves that simultaneously provoke Devils and Demons, only the Dawn Believers would dare to do them.

The Defense Tower appearing in this world again will certainly be topped with the Dawn Stone.

As for the Tower of Dark Enigma, whether it will choose the Styx behind Gilbert or Lansendel behind the Defense Tower, Hill can’t judge.

Ruth and Nicholson seem to have ties with both sides, but neither seems to be their main stance.

Logically, they should belong to the Styx, but from the situation where the Red Dragon chose to seek Hill’s help... the Tower of Dark Enigma probably abandoned its faith in the Styx long ago.

Wait, he seems to have overlooked the Tower of Despair... Hill shook his head suddenly.

”Teacher, what’s wrong?” Russell, who was discussing various spell techniques used by the Archmages with Carpenter, noticed his action, ”Did you discover something?”

”No, I always forget the Tower of Despair, but I feel like I shouldn’t forget them.” Hilbert smiled lightly.

”The Tower of Despair has always been strong, but they are rather arrogant and aren’t obedient to the Sia Tower.” Russell thought for a bit and directly said his impression of the Tower of Despair, ”However, when dealing with the Tower of Dark Enigma, few people mention them.

It’s understandable, they are neighbors, yet their past statuses were not much different, but somehow their current states are worlds apart.

Therefore, the Tower of Dark Enigma rarely brings up matters concerning the Tower of Despair.

Instead, it’s our Hainarson Clan, due to past matters... hmm, related to you, we occasionally pay attention to that tower.

But it’s just enough to know that the Tower of Despair is a powerful Magic Tower rivaling the Sia Tower, as to how they achieved that, we don’t have the position to know.”

”Ruth should have some connection with the Tower of Despair.” Hilbert said softly, ”But the exact relationship has always been a secret.

He keeps it very strictly guarded.”

Russell said, a bit dazed: ”So, our Hainarson Clan entered the Tower of Dark Enigma, and you were taken in by Ruth — it’s all connected, isn’t it?”

”Forget it, things have reached this point, no matter who they are hiding there, they will appear eventually.” Hilbert blinked gently.

Back then, he landed directly at the Tower of Despair. Maybe there was some reason.

If he hadn’t inadvertently overheard the discussions of those junior mages, sparking his interest in Gilbert Hainarson, he would have found a way to blend into the Tower of Despair.

Possibly, there indeed is something at the Tower of Despair that attracts his inexplicable fate.

However, Hill is someone who is a bit capricious.

Generally speaking, few would choose, upon arriving in a dangerous world, to leave their landing place and travel miles away to see the spectacle like Hill did.

So, maybe the Tower of Despair had something prepared for him?

Could it be related to the other part of the divine inheritance from the Elven God King that’s been on Hill’s mind lately?

Hill scratched his head slightly troubled.

This presence chosen indirectly by Coron... Hill is somewhat interested, yet not really eager to know.

Humans are always filled with fear towards some dreadful unknown.

Hill pondered his complex bloodline and truly doesn’t want anything else added.

Even against a mighty deity comparable to the World Tree, what does it matter?

No matter what, his main bloodline is from the World Tree... Hill will always be called the Child of Nature!

”Damn it!” Suddenly a roar from the screen interrupted his reverie, ”Are you kidding me?”

Hilbert couldn’t help but look up for a moment... No wonder Delphus was angry, it turned out there were giant bones... which were huge humanoid creatures refined from the bodies of countless mages sharing the same bloodline.

I wonder which family was so unlucky that due to not being dead for long and mages of similar lineages were buried in the same cemetery, resulting in such a fate.

The biggest skill of this thing is that, since its bones are infused with the same type of elements, it has a resistance to some spells almost akin to cheating.

This one born from the Defense Tower naturally finds it easiest to break protective spells.

Therefore, Delphus’s beautiful and gigantic black-purple airship had its defenses directly broken.

Now it’s in tatters.

Moreover, this giant white bone creature is quite strong; its fist-drop force, um... Hill estimated, could rival some adult giant dragons from Toril.

Hill nodded: When playing with such evil means, it’s also Fengo’s kind of character whose ability is sufficiently strong.

Look at what he pieced together here, think back to what the broken goods were when they arrived and cooperated with that ’Aislin’... ha~

What confidence did Glaysia have to live until now?

Hilbert couldn’t help but look for Aislin, who always followed behind Rosero, wanting to see her expression.

Sure enough, it was exactly as he imagined, incredibly intriguing.

This one has actually been gradually dividing herself and that ’Aislin’ into two distinct existences, but hasn’t fully sorted it out yet.

So now is her most bewildered moment... inevitably making Glaysia and her past self considered the same person.

But she won’t remain as oblivious as ’Aislin,’ confident to the point of self-unawareness, naturally understanding what the situation at hand signifies.

Thus, Aislin’s face shifting from green to white can be understood.

However, her behavior now seems to make Rosero more convinced that Aislin is still ’Aislin’... though attempting independence, she remains part of Glaysia’s soul.

Therefore, this Duke of Demons is diligently safeguarding Aislin’s safety.

The long whip is swung tightly guarded.

Of course, understanding where these bones come from, Rosero absolutely won’t help Delphus. He even continuously observes Delphus’s expression changes.

”Teacher, Delphus, is he like Aislin back then, having another soul within him?” Carpenter observed up till now, finally discovering something.

Delphus himself didn’t hold back, even though those bones draped in black robes clearly came from the past Defense Tower, he showed no hesitation while shooting his magic ballista.

You can’t say his attitude is about laying these past ghosts to rest; his hatred is evident.

Yet, his actions seem somewhat abnormal.

For example, shooting at that gigantic white bone, he missed twice consecutively... quite baffling.
