Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rommel glanced at the little bear cub acting all serious, suppressing the boiling emotions in his mind, and earnestly took the map.

Glancing at Kamente Tower who was leisurely heading towards his aircraft, he couldn’t help but raise his voice and ask, ”Teacher, did you and Archmage Ruth discuss your future dwelling arrangements?”

Kamente Tower paused his steps: ”Huh? Didn’t you hear when we talked?

Just like Nicholson, I’m still connected to Ruth’s main tower!

The three of us think that energy-sharing array is more appropriate.”

He glanced at Rommel who wore a calm expression: ”Are you still thinking about those things?

No need to overthink.

Ruth told me, as long as you can hold on, there shouldn’t be any major issues. That one never forces anyone.

Just let it be, when you can’t handle it, then retreat to meditate.

After all, we are all mages and know when interruptions are absolutely unacceptable.”

Rommel took a deep breath: ”I understand, then it will still be in the middle area closest to those two main towers. Should I write your name there first?

Just as well, I can also stay in the auxiliary tower then.”

Kamente Tower slightly turned his head to look at him... Rommel could only temporarily reduce contact with him.

After all, neither of them knew when Glaysia might appear around them.

Even if she doesn’t teleport directly into the Magic Tower, the windows of the Magic Tower couldn’t withstand her gaze!

They couldn’t possibly be so different from others as to not even build floor-to-ceiling windows that people could fly out of.

And Kamente Tower himself couldn’t guarantee that he could maintain this demeanor of a teacher when talking to Rommel.

No matter how unpretentious a teacher is, none could flatter like this.

Kamente Tower nodded: ”Alright~ this isn’t the Tower of Dark Enigma, you can indeed reside alone here.

Hmm... For subsidiary towers, we can build just two or three, Nicholson built three.”

”Alright, teacher,” Rommel responded softly.

”Then it’s up to you, I’ll go back to the aircraft for a rest.

This period... it’s been really invigorating!” Kamente Tower chuckled wryly, summarizing these past days of nerve-wracking experiences with one delightful adjective.

The reason he was able to maintain his calm demeanor when Glaysia showed interest in Rommel was that at that time, he was more worried that Glaysia would see through Rommel’s facade.

Therefore, when Glaysia showed interest in Rommel, his fear far outweighed his surprise.

Once he was sure that the Princess of Hell was merely blind instead of sharp and discerning, his inner emotions couldn’t rise again.

Kamente Tower just felt exhausted.

Now he just wanted to lie on his soft bed and have a good sleep to calm the tumultuous waves of his mental sea.

Watching him enter the aircraft, Rommel couldn’t help but feel a tinge of envy in his gaze.

Although he knew Kamente Tower was also suffering, Rommel really felt that maintaining his current expression, seriously discussing business with the little bear cub, was truly the hardest part.

After all, the words of this mischievous bear cub always carried hidden meanings.

Rommel never thought that one day he would live like a gossiping old lady... even if it was just in the privacy of his own mind.

Hill wore a smile on his face, willingly unfaltering... Rommel’s conversation with Kamente Tower added more strength to his smile.

He could even imagine what exactly startled Rommel, causing him to miss what Kamente Tower and Ruth were saying about the main tower’s location.

In a cheerful mood, he stroked the amulet at his waist... Hey~ Your lofty teacher, who stands high above the clouds and away from mundane affairs, fell into the river!

Taking a deep breath, Rommel raised the pen in his hand and decisively wrote down everyone’s names on the map.

”Aren’t you going to think a bit more?” Hilbert curiously looked at his unceasing pen.

”Who would come to find me? Who would dare to find me?

What if a gentle breeze blows through Sia Tower?” Rommel glanced at him lightly.

Hilbert’s mouth slightly drooped a bit... This guy is truly formidable!

So quickly moving on from the maze of emotions within and even daring to joke about Glaysia’s interest in him.

Although, it was probably more for the eyes continuously observing here, yet Hilbert still greatly admired his self-control.

Hilbert himself could absolutely never manage that.

His first reaction to such things would only be to avoid them.

Although he could also manage to keep his expression unchanged, that was simply using his control power to maintain a blank look on his face. He could never instantly think of using embarrassing situations to solve any troubles.

Hill believed that he wouldn’t let emotional upheavals affect his official duties... his past work experience allowed him to complete his work before dealing with any situation.

After all, his work, although not of great importance, was an indispensable link.

Once he couldn’t complete it on time, the entire project would be delayed.

Even with Hill’s status, even if he made mistakes, he wouldn’t be relegated... but Hill’s pride wouldn’t allow him to do such a shameful thing.

The thought of causing losses in the millions due to his mistake made Hill steadfast in not letting external disturbances affect his work.

But that didn’t mean he was in a good mood while working.

Not cursing did not mean he wouldn’t get angry enough to kick the people bothering him out.

He could not achieve what Rommel did, collecting all emotions in a very short time, and even smiling to use self-mockery to counter others’ ridicule.

Tsk, people who live long, their skin is indeed thicker than his bear skin.

Fortunately, Hill never expected to use this matter to suppress Rommel; his hopes were simple... as long as this old guy kept his mouth shut about everything in this world.

As for Rommel’s concerns about the Undead Tribe, if Hill knew, he would only advise him not to consider him at all.

The one who could really do such a thing was perhaps Lansendel, whose eyes had likely glanced over.

Since Asmodeus suffered such a humiliation and never appeared again in this world, he must be planning a way to divert that Great Peacock’s attention.

The ’Order Jewel,’ which made Hill bewildered and infuriated the devils, burned with a flame that could ignite even one possessed by Asmodeus, originating from Dawn’s scorching ray.

Lansendel might not notice the fire imbued with his divine power burning, but he would surely sense whose body his flames fell upon.

He could have even found out which brave believer ignited the flames and would be ready at any moment to welcome them back to his Divine Kingdom... and incidentally stage a grand and magnificent revenge for his follower’s gallant sacrifice.

This was the usual style of the Lord of Dawn.

The Lord of Hell surely understood this.

The reason he didn’t force those at Sia Tower to find the Dawn Believer hiding out of sight was that there was more important work... deploying layers of Enigma Arrays to obscure Lansendel’s perception using certain similar realms.

If Hill’s guess was right, the worlds outside Teraxil ruled by devils were bound to have terrible fortunes.

But this would also accelerate Asmodeus’ assault on this world. Even though reviving Bisozeya in this world was a bit challenging now, no one would believe the Lord of Hell was only planning for this one world.

One might say that the current world was the best, but definitely not the only choice.

For Asmodeus, the most important thing now was to wrap things up... he couldn’t endure for thousands of years only to end up empty-handed, right?

At least, people in this world were convinced of Bisozeya’s presence, including those secretly plotting rebellion, archmages who understood their world was being invaded by outsiders.

In their hearts, Bisozeya was a deity.

At most, she was a bit more evil than the terrifying and cruel goddess perceived by ordinary people.

Therefore, he would surely be eager to completely bind this world to Hell now.

As for any plans against the Styx, they could be abandoned in Lansendel’s presence.

That Great Peacock was the most stubborn existence in the Multiverse... before he found what he was looking for, even if it meant battling Asmodeus across several worlds, he would continue his search.

Critical at present, Asmodeus, preparing for an all-out attack on the Heavenly Mountain, had no wish to entangle himself with him.

If he dragged it on for too long, the Gods of Order on the Heavenly Mountain weren’t fools... they were just overly arrogant and self-indulgent, ignoring the world as long as their land of song and dance remained peaceful.

But once they sensed a threat, banded together, relying on the boundless order power of Heavenly Mountain, they could certainly ensure the joint forces of demons and devils utterly fail.

The Lord of Hell only intended a surprise attack, to eliminate a couple of enemies, and never thought he could seize more benefits.

And for the Bottomless Abyss, every Orderly Deity felled by the Lord of Hell and his demon princes could make him even stronger.

The endless Bottomless Abyss was always growing.

Hilbert smilingly watched Rommel firmly complete his work, while comparing notes with some important mages from the Kamente Tower Faction found in Gilbert’s memory, to determine who was truly significant among them.

Whether they were trusted by Kamente Tower or merely needed to appear important.

If it had been anyone else poking around like this, Rommel would certainly have chased them off... but what did he have not to let this Little Bear know now?

Moreover, this fellow clearly had something very important to discuss with him.

It had to be in total isolation... so, he needed to find a way to build Kamente Tower’s Main Tower as quickly as possible.
