Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”Is there something wrong with that dragon, teacher?” Carpenter asked, a bit surprised, ”Even if it’s not the reverse scale, it got pierced!

Doesn’t it hurt?”

”Teacher, who shot the arrow?” Russell asked simultaneously, his focus more on the hidden enemy.

Hilbert raised his eyebrows with some astonishment: ”Such a standard angel rapid shot... It seems Asmodeus did send his hand down here to monitor the development of the situation.”

”Angel?” The two children, whose understanding of devils was only from the written knowledge Hill provided, looked at each other.

”The fallen King of Battle Angels and his eternally loyal Angel Legion.” Hilbert laughed lightly, ”Although they ultimately became true devils, their fundamental attributes remain unchanged.”

Then he glanced at Russell and Carpenter: ”At this stage, some knowledge of the outer world is no longer necessary to be kept secret from you.

Previously, it wasn’t disclosed to you due to concerns that you might inadvertently reveal inappropriate expressions in front of Rosero and Aislin.

Now... This world has turned from a single dominance into chaos, and no one will care about your issues.”

Hilbert couldn’t help but laugh: ”Nor will anyone care about my problems.”

Just like when Aislin and Rosero discussed him earlier, why did Rosero speak so cautiously while Aislin adamantly denied it... Clearly, if Hilbert wasn’t really Gilbert, it proved the Styx had always been there, just not trusting them.

And regardless of what choices Tower of Dark Enigma made internally, it has always been valued by the Styx throughout history... As a loyal follower of Ruth, Aislin would absolutely not allow anything to raise suspicions about Ruth from Sia Tower or external forces.

And in this scenario where Hilbert is clearly seen as the person by the Tower Spirit of Tower of Dark Enigma... If Ruth is completely unaware, it only proves he hasn’t fully controlled Tower of Dark Enigma.

Such a longstanding legacy, a powerful magical tower that even Sia Tower couldn’t completely destroy, though the Tower Spirit remains silent, is surely not non-existent.

Especially since Hilbert now even doubts whether one of Ruth’s teachers who resonates almost completely with the Soul Main Tower has actually merged their soul into it... If that’s the case, then it makes sense why Ruth, lacking the characteristics of a Soul Mage, could fully control Tower of Dark Enigma.

But if such a Tower of Dark Enigma still fails to see Hilbert isn’t the real one... Then their Tower of Dark Enigma might as well be deemed wasted.

The strength of Tower of Dark Enigma is obviously inferior to the Defense Tower, but unlike the Defense Tower, whose foundation was destroyed, their main tower’s attributes clearly stem from the Styx’s gift!

Even though the Styx Force was discreetly isolated, as long as the Styx continues to flow, Tower of Dark Enigma cannot be completely destroyed.

Such magical towers will gradually self-repair... Sia Tower hasn’t failed to destroy them.

Yet even with some inheritance being incomplete, Tower of Dark Enigma still stands in place.

Asmodeus isn’t capable of everything... Even if this world is destroyed, as long as the Styx flows, the small space housing Tower of Dark Enigma will remain.

It would merely become a natural half-plane.

Sia Tower can only preemptively cut down each new crop of seedlings about to grow.

But if it happens the Styx starts ignoring even internal matters of Tower of Dark Enigma... Knowing the person is wrong yet can’t handle it, versus being completely oblivious to the soul changes in someone, are two very different things.

Although Ruth has now distanced himself from Tower of Dark Enigma, moving into Sia Tower and establishing a new three-main-tower cycle array, everyone understands his seemingly high status still relies on the eternal Tower of Dark Enigma.

Aislin indeed respects her teacher greatly, not allowing anyone to utter anything that might affect Ruth’s position.

But all this has nothing to do with Hilbert, or even Gilbert himself.

They fight over it, using Gilbert’s name, yet speak of an entirely different story.

Hilbert shook his head, beginning to answer Carpenter’s question: ”The dragon actually dodged, it clearly had a layer of illusion technique skin over its body.”

It’s quite normal that Carpenter noticed this problem... Even though her eyes told her it’s a real scene, her intuition reminded her it’s an illusion.

This child’s aptitude at illusion techniques is truly impressive.

Hilbert occasionally pondered, if Carpenter lived in a world like Toril, she might directly become a priest of Shuni or Celene.

Even though their natures are completely different, Shuni and Celene still maintain a good relationship not without reason, it’s not just because Shuni has widespread social interactions.

It’s the exchange of topics that establishes a certain friendship.

However, because they discuss proper matters, their friendship resembles spring water—light and unobtrusive.

They’ll slightly help each other out but won’t stick together like glue.

Of course, as long as it doesn’t affect each other’s life and death, they will certainly enjoy the others’ liveliness.

”I totally can’t see how he does it?” Though a bit downhearted knowing homework would increase once more, Carpenter still perked up to focus on the Red Dragon’s outstanding illusion techniques.

”No need to overthink it, this dragon, is quite crafty.” Hilbert reminisced about the past... During those days, Felunryel was certainly not something someone with insufficient imagination could conjure up.

Hence Hill wouldn’t get surprised by the dragon’s tongue-spewing lotus, or its morally questionable speeches on the screen.

The dragon that could conjure up Felunryel would inherently be malicious.

If it weren’t for Valkin being in front of him... Everyone might call for the Five-colored Dragon Queen and her lover’s misdeeds, yet actually understand.

But Valkin, relying on the sympathy of Toril Gods to carve out a place, riding on the help of past friends to own so many temples, for her to collude with the Five-colored Dragon Queen to affront the Toril Gods was truly offensive.

Felunryel’s beliefs, despite being directed at false gods, would ultimately subtly affect the deities themselves if further developed.

Indeed, some idioms are merely skewed but can still be considered referring to Toril Gods themselves.

When Felunryel interacts with the outer world, those Faith Powers would undeniably inexplicably point towards them.

Like the Moon Goddess festival in this world, enabling Celene to directly perceive... As a Primordial God, Celene’s reaction is more direct and quicker.

The faith divine law would inevitably be influenced by prayers from all directions, by the time they notice something amiss, the situation has typically reached its end.

No matter whether the Five-colored Dragon Queen and her lover understand these issues or not, as members of Hell, they undermine other deities without being considered abnormal.

One could only say Tiamat offended more deities during that single event than in the tens of thousands of years she had in the past.

Otherwise, in the calamity surrounding the Platinum Dragon King Bahamut against the Undead Tribe, she wouldn’t have been defeated so miserably... Bahamut’s presence unharmed after his arrival was entirely due to Tiamat having offended enough deities.

Even Tyr turned a blind eye to his existence.

Of course, individuals like Hill still realize the real troublemaker was this very foul-mouthed Red Dragon in front... But Tiamat, by relying on her seemingly incomprehensible way of handling things, drew all hatred upon herself.

Thus, as long as this Red Dragon doesn’t appear in Toril, he might count as temporarily safe.

Russell, who should’ve been troubled initially, was already entranced by the tale.

Be it the mages or nobles of this world, they exist rather drearily... More prone to covert scheming than outright confrontation.

Someone like the Red Dragon, possessing vocabulary so ample it rivals Ambori, indeed left him with no prior experience.

Like Rosero, who was slandered on the screen, and the always hidden Battle Angel felt indifferent, whereas Aislin, along with Delphus who has turned into the background, displayed rich expressions.

No matter how many wrongs they’ve committed, they’ve never heard such a spectacularly colorful curse today.

Moreover, the dragon’s speech was rapid... His mastery of Draconic Spell Magic appears stellar.

As for Hilbert, naturally, it was of no consequence.

He had witnessed the entirety of the ’Perfect Bald’ and Ambori’s argument!

Compared to Ambori, the Red Dragon’s cursing antics were somewhat on the same level, akin to market vendors arguing, as long as slightly cultured, would find it beneath them.

Not to mention the ’Perfect Bald’, even the ’Old Age Striking King’ probably could suppress the dragon outright.

For Hilbert, he was merely curious whether that Battle Angel had returned to Sia Tower or continued biding his time to find the dragon’s flaw.

That was tied to subsequent progress.

If he had turned back... Then Lansendel shouldn’t be far off.

If he were still attempting to act against the dragon, then Asmodeus indeed proved powerful, managing to hold out so long!
