Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1346: Chapter 1136: Sorry, Grandfather

Hill indeed wanted to move a bit.

Although he didn’t know why Talos had such a strong presence in the chaos of Teraxil’s Magical Beasts... even stronger than that of Geush, God of Orcs, he wasn’t really concerned. As long as he knew the enemy’s identity, why bother about who exactly it was?

Looking at it now, the Magicplague occurring ten years earlier might not be a bad thing for him.

Even though it caught him off guard, as he had been prepared to leave during the original incident in Ferun Calendar 1385, at this moment, it gave him the best opportunity... for personal revenge.

Hill gently closed his eyes.

His love for Teraxil might grow deeper with the awakening of the Goddess of the Earth, yet Hill did not strongly resist this affection.

The homeland in his heart was already an unattainable dream.

And within Hill’s nature, he still did not wish to be a wandering leaf carried away by the wind... he hoped that he could return to his roots.

He felt that the God of Time and Space and William should be the same as him.

This world of Teraxil indeed had many uncomfortable aspects, but compared to other fantasy worlds, it was truly a rare sanctuary.

Especially after going through Toril once, Hill’s sense of belonging to the World Tree Pantheon really became extremely strong.

His two white, slender hands gently clasped and opened, the Ring of Winter and the Crystal Flower Ring shimmering with cold light, mirroring his mood at this moment.

From the pendant on his chest, he took out several Ein Stones: two fresh purple Ein Stones, one inscribed with the Magic Absorption Technique... Talos habitually intimidated enemies with torrential rain and thunder, perfect for charging up.

One inscribed with the Freedom Spell.

As long as he had these two Ein Stones, Hill would not fall into a passive situation.

Unless some deity could directly sever his connection with the Ein Stones... there was only one demigod in Toril who could do this: one being AO, half being Mystra.

AO would absolutely not intervene to stop Hill’s revenge... after all, it was clear from the conversation between Celene and Shaer that Hill’s ancestor, the World Tree, had always been watching this side.

This was a grudge that almost led to the extinction of the World Tree’s offspring, AO would be crazy to intervene for Talos and Geush.

As for Mystra, Hill didn’t need to worry about her.

If Edna suddenly awakened now and returned to the center of the Weave, it wouldn’t be his network she would cut.

At that time, the one worried would only be Talos.

Of course, Edna wouldn’t casually sever someone else’s network, but suddenly harassing those daring to secretly collude with her subordinates, no one could blame her.

As long as it’s not a permanent disconnection, even if Mystra was a bit willful, AO couldn’t say anything.

As for those stones favored by most mages that enhance spell power, increase endurance, physical strength, even force and agility, they were completely useless to Hill.

He simply placed three stick-shaped silver Ein Stones... to increase lightning resistance.

After all, he might really need to rush into thousands of thunderbolts to punch someone, doesn’t he?

Punching someone directly might not seem like a mage’s choice, but just thinking about it is thrilling!

After tidying up the Crystal Flower Robe, reducing the silver-blue haloed Magic Book to hang at his waist together with the Supreme God Talisman, Hill stood up and politely took his leave from the three deities: ”Please forgive me, I might have to temporarily be absent for a while.

If you need anything, please summon Marsha, she will certainly serve wholeheartedly.”

Celene said dumbfoundedly, ”Are you... going to find Talos?”

”Before seeing definite results, I will not act rashly.” Hill calmly replied, ”But... as long as it’s confirmed that Talos is one of the masterminds behind Teraxil’s millennium of chaos, I’ll definitely seek him to settle this score!

What a great opportunity this is!

I thought I could only raise flags and cheer for Teraxil’s gods!

The taste of personal revenge would certainly be wonderful.”

Hill firmly suppressed a sentence within his lips without speaking... Thank you, Cyric, for your inspiration, really picked a good day.

”Hill.” Shaer said, slightly bewildered, ”It’s not me... excusing Toril, but Talos...

The former Talos, although irritable and unreasonable, was not like this now.

From a thousand years ago, to gain faith power from the Anser Divine System and Mulholland Pantheon upon leaving Toril, he created a desert visage, gradually transforming into this form.

I... although felt his immense change, but... the male deities of those two pantheons are very arrogant and disdainful of females, I thought it was only because he absorbed the divine power over there that he became so annoying.

But... William told me about Teraxil’s experiences.

That is absolutely not something Talos could accomplish... neither his former nor his current self.

Character might change due to some things, but the nature endowed by divinity would never.

This behavior of Talos... it’s just like if one day Celene suddenly became me, planning to destroy the world!”

Hill furrowed his brow in thought: Is it ten thousand years ago again?

At that time, Gewoosh, God of Orcs, indeed made his first grand entry into Toril... Did they have some connection at that time?

As for Shaer’s hint, Hill’s first reaction was about the Main God of Mulholland being killed by Gewoosh.

The aspect of Talos as King of the Desert indeed resembles him a bit.

From Sebek’s performance, the Mulholland Pantheon indeed has this ability to hide in the depths of its own deities’ souls, and when least expected, devour them from within.

Yet, Hill still couldn’t believe that Talos, born with formidable divine power from the battle between Shaer and Celene, would be so easily devoured by a foreign deity, and then be corrupted by Gewoosh.

It’s a bit too incredible.

Most importantly, why would AO permit it?

He silently shook his head; anyway, it’s already come to this, either they find evidence directly... Although Talos works very secretly, it’s clear that the sorcerers of Anmur must have left behind some evidence of their cooperation.

The mages and sorcerers in Toril who enjoy biochemical research don’t respect the deities much; given the chance, they wouldn’t hesitate to dissect caught deities to explore what differentiates deities from humans.

Until now, there are still some unyielding archmages who hope to find remnants of flesh at Carlthas’s crash site from the sky before transforming into liches... Though his death was disgraceful, at least at the moment of death, he was a god.

Many archmages may mock his stupidity, yet they are very interested in that just-turned-divine mortal shell of his.

Mages raised in such an environment tend to be the most extreme kind, regardless of how much Talos demanded to hide his identity.

These mages surely would have some methods beyond Talos’s imagination to inform later generations of his identity.

The more Talos wanted to hide, the more they would find ways to leave clues... The evil gods of Toril turn against allies quickly; without some threat to rely on, who would dare cooperate with them easily?

Talos was willing to expose his identity to get Visaron to help that Master Hunter, Hill thought steadily, or at least show a determination to save the guy to prevent him from saying something he shouldn’t before dying.

He glanced south lightly: Did ’Snow Cloud Peak’ want to decisively kill that Master Hunter to let Talos foolishly prolong his appearance until the end?

Then, he must know exactly where the true residence of that Master Hunter is.

Who provided the information?

Although the Apostles of the Night have well-informed sources, followers of Marla in the stinking marshes like this truly don’t pay much attention... Anyway, this guy’s mission is to give trouble to Shantia, Shaer won’t care who he kills.

Forget it, he decided not to think about it temporarily.

After bidding farewell to the three deities again, Hill summoned the Otherworldly Whale Purwell.

Fran had already left the half-plane and was waiting for him at the Magic Tower.

The Alchemist Master frowned slightly, speaking with a determined tone: ”I’m going with you.”

Hill hesitated for a moment.

”What?” Fran stared at him, with a slight unkindness in his voice, ”Are you thinking your grandfather is too old to know how to fight?

Or do you think... I’ve weakened to the point of needing your protection?”

Hill took a soft breath, knowing there was no possibility of stopping Fran from joining the battle.

He could only say helplessly: ”I... grandfather, this time, we’re intercepting only a strong divine power incarnation.

His true form is still outside Toril!

Unless grandfather directly returns to Teraxil after Toril reopens, or just follows me... otherwise, how can I be at ease letting you go alone to other universes?

This deity is, as it appears, a guy who loves reaching everywhere!”

Fran chuckled softly: ”Do you think I would be afraid?”

He brought forth his Sphere of All Spells: ”Hill, ever since we met again, you haven’t seen my Sphere of All Spells, have you?

Leaving Teraxil, I finally know what this inspired moment’s divine artifact truly looks like.”

Divine artifact?

Hill sensitively caught the key point and immediately scrutinized the Sphere of All Spells, which under white external glow, shimmered with strips of differently colored aura... Then, he rapidly realized the difference in this divine artifact compared to the past.

Although it’s still composed of diverse laws, Fran has already begun trying to integrate them. Complementary laws in neighboring cells form rainbows or black holes.

This divine artifact is already equipped with the potential of a powerful divine artifact; it just needs time for gradual consolidation.

Hill softly breathed out, showing his grandfather a rare obedient smile... He truly hasn’t acted this compliant since becoming an adult: ”It’s my fault, still clinging to memories of the past.

I completely forgot that my grandfather has never stopped moving forward.

Sorry, grandfather.”
