Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1317: Chapter 1108: The Joy of the Black Death Brothers

The final outcome for Sebek was also quite simple.

In order for his last remaining giant crocodile to find a way to escape from the sea while carrying a three-meter-wide, five-meter-high portal generator, he could only choose to hold out until the end.

After all, the consumption of his Divine Power here only resulted in the failure of the Mulholland Pantheon’s scheme, but without that machine, he himself would suffer in the future.

Helping An He silently enter Toril was one thing, but cutting off his own escape route was another. Since Sebek could betray before, he of course chose to think of himself again this time.

The old crocodile’s mind was probably all on how to attract the attention of the Undead Tribe… In the final moments, he almost exerted all his strength to stir up a storm with the Undead Tribe.

The sandstorm filled the sky and collided with the blizzard from the other side, generating a huge vortex around the Magic Ship, seemingly indeed blinding the Undead Tribe.

Sebek was so tense that he completely failed to notice the Ice Blade Domain, which always oppressed him, gradually fading away.

In the sea, those giant lotus flowers slowly folded their petals and, along with the curled large leaves, sank slowly to the seabed.

Leonard had already turned around and went over to Edna to discuss the news he had just heard from the Undead Tribe: “Isn’t it because ten thousand years ago, Mulholland failed due to the Orcish Pantheon, so when they encountered trouble in their own Universe, they planned to come to Toril again… Obviously, they never truly respected the Toril Deities’ abilities.

But as time passed, ten thousand years were enough for these Toril Deities to grow strong enough to give those who looked down on them a hard blow, huh!

Really… if it had been before Shaer changed her attitude, there might have been a slight chance, as the Lady of the Night might have intervened on both sides, helping the weaker one… That’s why back then, almost everyone on Toril died!

But now, hehe~

There will definitely be a good end for those reckless Slave Masters.”

The Elves are the ones who hate the existence of Slave Masters the most… After all, on Toril, the top-tier slaves are Elves… The more they value freedom, the more expensive they become.

“That’s quite normal, I have no objections; it’s just a matter of leaving a fingerprint.” Edna understood, of course, that William was doing things this formally not to notify the Undead Tribe, but rather to inform her.

Standing in the biting cold wind, Edna suddenly laughed: Midnight, look, I’ve accomplished what you always wanted to do.

Gaining the approval of some Deities not closely related to Black Eye—it’s not hard, right?

They insisted Edna come, not for a small Mithril Mine… Although it’s a great wealth for mortals, those involved all command great Divine Power, not to the point of being this nervous.

But everyone understood that once Toril reopened the Star Gate, whether the Goddess of Magic standing in the starry sky would be willing to work with them against the invading Mulholland Deities was very important.

Edna went to leave her fingerprint, officially dividing the Mithril Mine, but in actuality choosing, in a sense, to advance and retreat with them.

Every day, Edna read Midnight’s memories, continuously exploring why she turned her path to greatness into a dead end.

Then she discovered her little thoughts, though somewhat indescribable, Edna could understand.

Understanding only, she didn’t agree… You inherited someone else’s Divine Position of Black Eye!

Even a place like Hidden Town took more than ten years to transition to a new heir. How could a force as mighty as the Weave allow you to take over, and before you’d barely demonstrated your capabilities, everyone acknowledged you and simply forgot the predecessor?

Even a villain like Milko had a group of priests who fondly remembered him!

Every time Edna thought of that dodo, the stubborn bull, she felt her anger rising uncontrollably.

But sometimes she wanted to comfort this ‘poor boy suddenly becoming rich,’ overwhelmed and making mistakes at every turn.

Midnight always wanted to escape the shadow of her predecessor, leading to her having a conflicted relationship with the Harpist Alliance, making their relationship with other God Systems in the Harpist Faction particularly awkward.

She constantly sought new paths… Even if it was just bringing a new Deity into the Harpist Alliance.

And now, Edna gently told that silly girl deep inside her soul, Look, with whom am I about to sign a covenant?

Then she felt a natural sting from her soul… Ah, Midnight seemed slightly dissatisfied with Shaer’s existence.

But there was also an inexplicable, faint happiness lingering in her heart… Perhaps she wanted to see, when those who had always feared her identity but secretly disdain for the way Midnight Mistrala did things knew the truth, what their faces would be like?

Edna couldn’t help but curl her lips, always feeling a little split within herself lately.

‘Chattering’ flipped his tablet open before the group: “Come, have a look at the escape route of the God of Crocodiles.”

“Hmm?” Edna leaned over with interest.

A giant crocodile slid down the right lower corner of Ningbrol Island, brushing against the sea bed along a narrow, inverted peak, then swiftly swam along the seabed fissure created by the peak.

Then, while passing by a grayish-white shell lying motionless at the bottom of the sea, he carefully picked it up with his long crocodile snout.

“Hmm?” Leonard, who also came over, was drawing a line in the air, as if sketching on a tablet, “Is he heading south?

Moonshadow Archipelago?”

“The Moonshadow Archipelago does have Marla Devotees,” Edna said with a smile, “Ordinary followers can’t distinguish between the real Marla and the fake… Oh, given the style of Marla’s devotees, even if they recognize Sebek as fake, they would still obey.

After all, all they want is slaughter, and whose lead they follow doesn’t matter.”

‘Chattering’ said somewhat awkwardly, “Ah… the queen of the Moonshadow Archipelago is always wary of us, I’m afraid she won’t invite us to help slay demons and cleanse the undead.”

“Why are you worrying about such pointless things? Thinking of stealing work from the Old Dog?” said ‘Sui Chen’, who, after the battle ended, was struggling to get out of a giant opened armor, “Can’t you give a hand?”

Leonard froze for a moment, then immediately leaned over to untangle the rows of metal wires wrapping around him, chuckling as he said, “Is it really… this messy inside?”

“The first time we entered, they actually messed it up worse, these clueless shorties!” ‘Sui Chen’ said with annoyance, “Otherwise, only this middle part was somewhat comfortable, the rest felt much like being hanged.

I went in for the first time and thought Baldy couldn’t stand us and wanted to turn us into puppets controlled by strings.”

Edna glanced at the position he was indicating and couldn’t help but laugh, “Ha~ is it because of the Gnomes’ height?”

“Those little people, not a good one among them.” ‘Sui Chen’ complained, “We planted bombs throughout their workshop, and would blow a floor for every failure, only then did they behave!

Click~”

A huge head poked out from the cabin door, “What are you guys talking about? Can we go to the island now?”

“Elvia,” Edna turned her head and smiled slightly, “I might have to go to Snowfall Island first to sign an agreement.

This place needs help from the Undead Tribe to clean up first, after all… it’s too dirty.

So, are you going to stay at Ningbrol Island and wait for my return, or come along with me?”

In areas Ambori passed by, countless seaweeds and mud covered the island.

Edna estimated that even if the Undead Tribe used the simplest method… pouring rain… to wash all those filthy things into the sea, it would take at least three days.

Elvia was momentarily stunned before quickly saying resolutely, “Of course I’ll stay by your side!”

“It’s to see that Mithril Mine, right?” ‘Old Age Striking King’ jumped down directly from the top of the three-story ship cabin with a face full of sarcasm.

“Ah~ how could you say that? Just looking but not taking, it’s too cruel for the White Dragon Queen.

It seems Elvia really loves Edna!” ‘Xiao Liuliu’ gracefully came down the stairs on the other side with a tender look on her face.

“Huh? What?” Elvia asked in a panic, “Now that you’re letting me into the mine, won’t you give me a little souvenir?”

“No way!” ‘Old Age Striking King’ rolled his eyes, “Even Arausato didn’t snatch a piece!

The Black Dragon brothers have stayed inside for so long they even remember the tiny spots where a fingernail-sized piece of Mithril lies.

Old Dog… has paid them an amount big enough to keep them loyal as guards.”

“How could that be?” Elvia’s voice was filled with disbelief, “Is Old Dog planning to let the wolves guard the sheep pen or pigs guard the dining hall?”

“Those Black Dragon Brothers wish to move to reside above the Neverwinter Forest area on Agleya and hope to, like Tasding, team up with the Undead Tribe to clear out unsafe factors at sea.” ‘Xiao Liuliu’ closed her eyes and smiled gently, “So they voluntarily put on tools that allow the Undead Tribe to monitor their actions at any time.”

“Uh…” Elvia was completely at a loss as to how any dragon could be so cruel to themselves!

“After all, they’re entitled to a share of the Mithril, and what they dug previously was also acknowledged.” ‘Sui Chen’ looked at Elvia’s twisted expression and delivered a devastating blow to the White Dragon Queen, “I think for those two brothers, sometimes, being able to ensure other dragons don’t get even a thread is quite delightful for them.

When dealing with dragons coming because of the rumors, they also showed great enthusiasm.”

Elvia pondered for a moment, frowning, “Those Black Dragon brothers… seem to have a pretty twisted personality!

Could it be they’re the offspring of that Black Dragon Queen who likes to give her dragon eggs to Evil Mages for research?”

“There’s such a thing?” ‘Chattering’ asked with amazement.

“Anmur’s…” Elvia looked toward the southeast, “But it’s already dead!”
