Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1310: Chapter 1101: Edna’s Reconciliation with Herself

Hill did this out of necessity.

Although the jewelry sets priced at 500,000 each sold well, he found them selling a bit too quickly.

His original plan was to sell one or two sets over three to four months, allowing the Undead Tribe to earn enough Gold Coins through missions, which would also help William reclaim some Gold Coins.

Yet, who knows how William and Coron conducted their trade, these two actually dared to conjure up so much gold!

Hill couldn’t figure out if the reason Coron was so quiet lately was that he was focused on producing Elven Gold Coins with the Angels and Lesser Gods of the entire Divine Kingdom!

Attributeless Crystal Stones might have additional allure for the Elf Deity System, otherwise, Coron wouldn’t be working so diligently.

And what about AO… just watching these two scatter Gold Coins into Toril?

But then Hill thought, Toril was a world already lacking in gold, and the Undead Tribe didn’t spend much outside. The occasional gold they dispersed wasn’t even enough to offset the annual Magic Defense expenses of Sorcerer Toril!

Yet, Hill never intended to become a jewelry artisan. Why make himself this exhausted?

However, his gentle temperament and soft nature couldn’t withstand the pleas from the Undead Tribe girls below the Floating Castle, eventually forcing him to oblige.

He really had to thank these Undead for providing him a good excuse.

Then, there was the need to encourage the mages and gnomes in Agleya City to ignite their artistic sparks soon; they shouldn’t always produce extravagant jewelry… understanding the target audience’s preferences should be the focus!

What’s most important is uniqueness! And there should never be consecutive releases of similar jewelry styles; don’t repeat a set once it’s created!

Hill hoped this three-month interval would allow the Undead Tribe to accept those stylistically changed pieces but still bearing many Toril imprints.

Having ventured to the Otherworld, they ought to embrace a bit of foreign flair, right?

Even if… they still preferred Hill’s creations, he could use this time to stockpile more.

Come to think of it, his stockpile really wasn’t that plentiful!

Hill was a little worried in recent days about whether he’d end up working on crafts under the watchful eyes of Shaer, Celene, and Lansendel.

So, even though the actions of the Undead were somewhat annoying, Hill was still quite pleased to have a valid excuse.

After all, once the Black Rose entourage returned, they’d realize just how terrifying women can be, especially when they are affluent with nowhere to spend their money.

Really… their friendship over the years has not been in vain!

Hill stared at the giant screen, a cold smile forming on his lips.

“So, do your ancestors also look akin to a Cavern Bear?” Lansendel hesitated for a moment but couldn’t resist asking.

“You’re the one who looks like a Cavern Bear!” Hill couldn’t help but break his composure.

“Ah~ hehe~” Lansendel laughed, “It’s the first time Little Hill has raised his voice like this!

So… does your family’s bear look rather pretty?

Oh right, divine beings can transform, can’t they?”

His focus remained on the bear.

Even though the deities of Toril knew Hill’s true origins, they still wanted to link Coron with a bear… especially Lansendel.

“The Earth Bear is golden and probably twice the size of that Blue Bear below?” Shaer couldn’t help but smile, “William once showed me a tape of young Earth Bears playing in some Undead city.

The golden Earth Bears are truly beautiful, exuding a natural essence, indeed the darlings of nature.”

Hill blinked; Shaer’s understanding of the Earth Bear was a bit skewed… the difference between nature and the Goddess of the Earth is significant!

Either the Lady of the Night is unwilling to speak about it, or William still held back some secrets.

He couldn’t help but glance at the Goddess of the Night, who, though not smiling, radiated a soft aura. From Shaer’s somewhat lost gaze, it was obvious she held some doubts.

William likely had said, as he had once: he would never lie, but he would directly tell Shaer there were things he couldn’t disclose.

If understanding could be reached, only then could they move forward.

Though Shaer might be domineering, as the Goddess of Secrets, she actually understands some secrets cannot be divulged.

It’s just that previously, no one had the status that commanded her respect for such privacy.

But at times, Hill could really feel that between William and Shaer, Shaer was the more proactive one.

Regardless of how they interacted, at least from the current perspective, their communication seemed just fine.

Suddenly, a loud roar erupted from the giant screen: “Ambori, have you not eaten your fill for a long time?

Here I am, come and fight me if you dare!

“There’s no strength at all. If it were Agleya, we’d be finished already!”

Ambori was indeed furious.

Hill’s eyes widened… even during the battle for divine power with Agleya, Ambori had never stirred up such a massive wave!

The towering wave, like a sheer cliff, crashed down from above directly onto the golden wall of light… after swaying precariously for half a minute, it shattered into fragments, floating down like golden butterflies over the heads of the Undead Tribe.

Fortunately, the Undead Tribe had already lined up; otherwise, those crocodilians snapping up amidst the chaos would have surely stormed the ship.

Edna gritted her teeth, holding down the Blue Bear amidst the screams on the ship. No matter if the person next to her was stabbed to death by a shark-head that flew in, she did not panic or intend to evade.

The managers of the Undead Tribe had long been prepared to handle the chaos of this period. The Dare to Die Squad flying overhead were meant for moments like these.

Edna caught sight of the female mage from the Magic Cult with her peripheral vision, grabbing a shark-head that somehow got into the crowd and soaring into the sky, then exploding into fireworks mid-air.

Just as she initially said, she specialized in mutual destruction.

Soon, the enemies that boarded the ship were cleared away.

Edna was somewhat astonished to see several enormous lotuses blooming in the water… the aerial roots soaring in the air repelled all enemies that passed by, while the leaves wrapped the undead who accidentally fell in, delivering them to the lotus seed pod, which had a diameter of five meters, with petals that were sharp outside yet soft inside, serving as the best protective wall.

This was Ninth Ring Natural Magic… Leonard had come out as well?

The Half-Elf Mage had entirely different choices.

She thought of using opposing laws to defeat the enemy, whereas Leonard used the same laws to protect his own… the damage to the enemies was the last thing considered.

Are all Nature Mages so soft by nature?

Edna couldn’t help but reveal a slight, disapproving smile… she still preferred the style of the Sanda King, where killing all enemies was the best defense.

Tsk, the Blue Bear’s strength is almost double that of the Crocodilians!

Although the Undead Tribe was constantly attacking, the defense of the bear’s hide clearly surpassed that of the crocodile… especially in magic defense.

This original hand was a bit uncontrollable; she had to make some changes.

Edna flipped her fingers… just as the spell’s duration was about to end… she silently counted down to ten in her heart, crossed her delicate hands in mid-air, and lightly tapped an Ein Stone passing in front of her with her left hand.

On the island’s shore, two gigantic palms crossed in mid-air, smacking the Blue Bear trying to leap into the sea back.

Unfortunately, it still managed to find a chance to roar… chilly mist lingered between Nibro Island and the Magic Ship.

No wonder it was once the totem of the barbarians, the battle-hardened Great Glacier Bear God Lundel.

Unfortunately, Edna couldn’t help shaking her head… Even after devouring Lundel, Marla was utterly incapable of mastering the true essence of the Blue Bear’s combat skills.

But this bear is absolutely not the main controller of this incarnation.

Since Blue Bear Lundel is a Totem God, once devoured, it’s impossible to have even a sliver of life left like Sebek and the Beastman God.

It’s inevitable; the fate of an evil totem is essentially like this—to either devour others to strengthen oneself or become nourishment for others. They can never stop fighting… without war, there is no sustenance for their survival; they will eventually fade into the wind.

For a Totem God, being devoured is preferable to gradually waiting for death in the totem pole after being forgotten.

Therefore, the barbarians and beastmen who worshipped totems almost never ceased fighting.

Edna gazed sharply at Marla… although the crocodilians were very smooth when switching states, seemingly changing its form to better deal with the enemy, this rather increased Sebek’s suspicion.

Marla… doesn’t have the ability to think.

In his normal state, if switching faced, it must be because the form in battle was half-crippled and hopeless… Sebek, after all, could only withstand her Crushing Palm for a few minutes despite summoning big crocodiles with a bit of divine power.

Quietly recalling the various characteristics of the Mulholland Pantheon in her mind, Edna’s free hand began to rummage through her bracelet… she remembered there was a set of strange objects specifically for Earth Mages.

Hill was very skilled at making such strange objects, and if they weren’t the luxurious, exquisite jewelry type, they weren’t expensive either… only supplied for their own.

The inner room of his Strange Objects Shop wasn’t accessible to everyone.

The Hidden Town and Agleya City were generally accessible, but… in Luskan, few had this qualification.

At least, Sharol didn’t.

Edna suddenly laughed… now, it seemed she could stop paying attention to that lady!

Sometimes, she also felt her other identity was quite good; that way, she wouldn’t always wonder if it was she, Edna, who was at fault, thus unliked by both parents.

Now she could instead comfort herself; it was better than Midnight, right?

At least she hadn’t been an orphan abandoned in the wilderness.
