Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1327: Chapter 1118: Edna and Lynn’s Tacit Exchange

Edna’s little face was filled with curiosity, and she looked at Lynn very seriously.

Lynn didn’t plan to keep them guessing. After all, once the Goddess returns to the Divine Kingdom, he would be able to see everything that happened in the past, so he straightforwardly said, ”Hill bought it from Luskan and then sold it to the potion master in Deepwater City.”

”No wonder,” Edna tilted her head and said, ”In Black Eye’s memory, the large fragments of the portrait were clearly carried away by those Shadow Souls.”

She didn’t ask why Hill didn’t keep the oil painting fragments of Magala Black Eyes... As someone who is not a follower of the Goddess of Magic, it’s impossible to use this divine artifact to contact the Weave, let alone receive spell gift from it.

Besides, these fragmented remnants that have been divided so finely can provide very little help to a mage as strong as Hill. Didn’t Kelben also store all the fragments he received in the warehouse?

He had no choice but to buy them back at a high price... Even if it was the former Mystra, he couldn’t just ignore it as a Chosen.

As to why everyone chose him to get rich, is there any need to ask? Among the Arcane Electors, is there anyone more detested than him?

Anyway, doesn’t Kelben enjoy playing economic warfare!

Those mage merchants who were forced to personally run their shops and stock up from Icewind Valley would definitely not miss the chance to irritate Kelben.

No one would have thought that Black Eye would leave such a card for their descendants.

Of course, someone like AO who would utilize even this minor detail... makes people feel even more that he’s lacking decency... Edna furrowed her brows. No, that old guy lacks such an attribute!

Immersed in her own thoughts, Edna didn’t notice Lynn standing at the door with a changing expression.

Edna wasn’t playing any mind games with him, her attitude was clear... She simply didn’t want to ascend the Floating Castle.

Lynn could tell she had a good impression of Hill, so why such avoidance... Is it because of those three powerful Divine Powers watching the fun up there?

Although Lynn knew many secrets about the deities from his own circle of Singers, Miliel enjoyed conversing with Lynn because he could keep secrets. Some genuine secrets might slip out from Miliel, but Lynn would ensure he didn’t speak them indiscriminately.

Of course, sharing merriment with friends is a must, but with Lynn’s character, the only person he has recognized as a friend for life in hundreds of years is Hill.

Others are just colleagues with good relations, akin to chat partners with whom you can exchange information.

The news these people can exchange with Lynn isn’t quite at the level of gossip among Singers.

Lynn’s mind raced... This incarnation of Midnight would rather let the world know her body’s lineage is from Azuth and Magala Black Eyes than wish to see... Celene?

Edna, knowing the relationship between William and Shaer, understands that the Goddess currently won’t trouble her, may even vacate the scene... Shaer’s hatred for the Goddess of the Weave is hard to control... Preferring Edna over Midnight doesn’t mean she wouldn’t want to cause trouble if she saw Edna.

The last time Edna saw Shaer occurred before the young girl fully regained her memory; Shaer wouldn’t bother or despise addressing an incarnate Mystra who was still mortal.

The relationship between Lansendel and Mystra has always been one of mutual non-interference. Of course, regardless of where the excitement comes from, the Lord of Dawn would actively participate and observe.

But he wouldn’t show up specifically to chat with Edna for this kind of excitement... After all, everyone knows Edna surely wouldn’t like seeing the Lord of Dawn who always laughs at her.

Only the Maiden of the Moon wouldn’t care about Edna’s feelings being hurt at this moment and would approach the reincarnated Edna asking questions this young girl hasn’t even figured out herself.

Edna turned to lean against the window, revealing a bright smile to the clearly contemplative Lynn, ”I’ll have to wait until I return from my travels before going to see our lord of Agleya.

I still have to take over the Mayor’s documents for Hidden Town from him!”

”This document will surely have to be created by me.” Lynn gave a gentle smile, ”Should I write Edna’s full name on it?”

”Just Edna will do.” Edna gently tilted her head, her brown long hair smoothly sliding over her left shoulder, ”So let Elvia continue playing with her children!

Mr. Lynn, can you accompany me for a walk?”

Lynn’s long eyelashes fluttered tenderly, reaching out to tidy his white robe edged in gold and the elf single-handed sword on his waist, then gently raised his left hand and slightly bowed, ”Beautiful Miss Edna, it’s your call~”

Edna’s big black eyes lightly squinted; without hesitation, she took a step forward and put her right hand on Lynn’s hand.

The two slowly walked out through the open doors... completing a social etiquette exercise as colleagues.

Lynn and Edna reached a subtle understanding in mere words... before she publicly revealed her identity, Agleya was willing to still consider her a member of its territory and would treat her with the same attitude going forward.

And whether Edna ends up deciding to reveal everything, she won’t abandon Agleya nor her Hidden Town.

Edna kept a straight face while walking past those panicky gazes... there really are too many spies here at the Agleya Harbor Inn!

Perhaps not many actual travelers are here compared to the number of giant dragons hiding to watch the spectacle!

As she followed Lynn to the shop street, a glance caught sight of the Harpist Building, making her frown slightly... the state of the mages and rangers there seemed listless.

In stark contrast to a group of spies with eager eyes.

Once, Harpists were the best intelligence organization on the Ferun Great Land!

What’s the matter here?

”What’s going on with the Harpists?” She asked softly, ”Why do they seem like a forsaken complainant?”

”The Northern Seven Sisters don’t even know where their path leads, and the core, the Storm, hasn’t returned to Harpist headquarters for a good while.” Lynn said nonchalantly, ”Without good news from headquarters, they’ve begun to panic.”

”But... shouldn’t they be the ones procuring information for headquarters?” Edna knew the ins and outs of Harpists.

”Well... you see, due to Mystra... some incomprehensible actions in recent years, a few gods in the Harpist Alliance have wavered, considering withdrawal, right?” Lynn’s tone was slightly constrained, but he spoke out.

Though aligned with Miliel, he rarely lies.

”The Harpists won’t have internal strife, right?” Having witnessed various antics from Midnight, Edna’s resilience had grown, ”Aren’t they supposed to follow the gods within the Harpist Alliance for justice?

Justice doesn’t turn evil just because Midnight acts foolishly.”

Lynn paused... he truly owed thanks to the years of tempering by the Undead Tribe, allowing him to smile and respond lightly now, ”It just happened that as the gods began dividing, Mystra was assassinated.

And, other gods in the Harpist Alliance couldn’t decide to dissolve the alliance with Mystra absent.

But by then, they had already dispersed their personnel.

Therefore, most Harpists backed by other gods now find themselves adrift, uncertain whether to continue following Storm’s orders or wait out the Magicplague.”

”These here too? Those appearing beside Deepwater City ought to be Elaströ’s people, right? There’re mages with them!”

”These Mystra followers are indeed the most unsettled, aren’t they?” Lynn laughed, ”The Goddess has been absent for too long.”

”Ah~ isn’t the Weave still there. What’s great... ah!”

Whatever Harpists, whatever Weave, had become meaningless now.

Edna didn’t care what the observing Undead were murmuring; her whole spirit was absorbed by the dream castle before her.

She lifted her long gown and swiftly dashed onto the enormous cloud hovering a meter high.

Lynn shook his head and smiled, knees pressing slightly, hopping up directly.

”Hill really knows me well.” Edna stood on the grassland blooming with blue and purple lavender, gazing up at the vast castle, turning towards Lynn, ”Then, will he be willing to build a palace for me at my other home in the future?”
