Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1311: Chapter 1102: Marla the Shapeshifting Giant Ape

One hand held the blue bear tightly, while the other fumbled through what she might need, ensuring all was ready, Edna looked around.

She had done everything to the best of her ability… if even this suppression couldn’t keep the bear down, then Edna would have to charge into the mage group of the Undead Tribe and fight alongside them in a group battle.

The Undead Tribe was actually prepared for new enemies, besides the hall where she had been, most cabin doors had fully armed knights peeping in and out.

These are people preparing to fight underwater, the color of their armor is different from those standing by the ship’s rail.

Some naturally attired priests were placing branches of holly and mistletoe at some cabin entrances, especially the cabin with the Toril people, its doorframe was full of green branches… were they preparing for a capsizing?

Not only considering the issue of needing to completely seal off the cabin at that time but also considering to add some breathable air for the people inside!

Edna tilted her head with a slight smile, casting aside all concerns… the Undead Tribe’s preparation was already sufficient, she’s not afraid of Mulholland’s arrival of anyone, is she?

She slightly furrowed her brows staring at the blue bear on the coast. Although the damage from the Undead Tribe couldn’t count as much on this demigod-level giant bear, the number was just too much… even small wounds, all over the body, could still be lethal.

And the biggest feature of a totem god is that the greater the damage, the stronger their power… although that’s burning the soul, for them, soul damage was never an issue, devouring some souls could restore it.

They never cared that devouring undead would make their souls more chaotic and filthy, so the fate of totem gods was never good.

It was quite apparent that the blue bear had reached its limit.

Edna weighed the situation, and briskly called down ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ that was flying back and forth in the air: “Rainfall, the blue bear is bound for a desperate struggle, its strength might double, I might not hold it down.”

‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ laughed: “No worries~ you’ve already been a great help~ we are all ready, just waiting for it to transform again.

Perfect, bear form, many people are reluctant to strike~

It always feels like hurting Hill’s milk brother.”

“Won’t you guys… get in trouble when you return?” Edna said quietly, “I think, no matter how good Hill’s temper is, he won’t spare you all.”

“Alas~” ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ spread his hands, “from the moment Hill’s relative was mentioned, the outcome was already set.

Anyway, they are bound to be in trouble, so let the storm come more violently~

Hill has a good temper, sticks to the rules, at most he’ll just raise our price.

That 500,000 thing~ even without a price hike we can’t afford it anyway!

Hehe~ doesn’t matter~ no need to worry.”

Edna tilted her head… she kept feeling something was off, but the commotion from the blue bear interrupted her thoughts: “It’s struggling desperately! Damn, so fast!”

“Attention! Attention! Get ready for underwater combat! That bear is trying to break free!

Repeat again! Bear form moves to Ship 1! Antler Monkeys Ship 2! Black Cat Ship 3! Remember your positions!

Others, don’t move, beware of Ambori, don’t really let her kill Baldy!” ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ flew straight into the sky, holding a very oddly shaped loudspeaker and shouted… Edna always felt it looked like a blue little snail.

But Undead Tribe’s hobby has always been diverse, liking to speak into a snail’s mouth isn’t really a problem, she shook her head, concentrating fully on the blue giant bear that suddenly grew larger.

Rendel’s bear face enlarged, truly looking ferocious!

Edna couldn’t help but recall the handsome face of Lord Hill, impossible to associate the two.

And then her large hand that always held the blue bear was suddenly flipped open… the blue bear howled, stretching its over 14-meter huge body, charging ferociously toward the Black Rose’s big ship.

“Damn!” ‘Perfect Bald’ still hopping around on the three-masted ship cursed, “That bear’s gonna rock the ship!

Stop it!”

Flying mid-air, trying every way possible to block that mage strike team holding a trident, doing whatever it takes to push that hopping bean ‘Perfect Bald’ onto the fork, they almost immediately turned direction… ‘Perfect Bald’ might as well be dead! The ship cannot be wasted.

There are still Toril people on board!

Even if Baldy dies a hundred times it doesn’t matter!

Not a single one of the Quel Senta Mage’s followers can die!

To know, there are protection targets of the Magic Cult here too… Black Rose’s own task failure at most loses face, but if they mess up the Alliance Gang’s mission, how would they face anyone afterward?

The mages of the Magic Cult need not be mentioned. Those who follow the Black Rose’s great ship are basically warriors prepared to die at any time in front of the protection target.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ had warned them long ago that this large-scale mission would certainly yield a lot of experience, but the money would definitely burn fiercely… To avoid the fate of other families who sustain losses while doing nothing more than making a name for themselves, Edna’s group’s protection mission must not fail.

More importantly… all the Undead Tribe are watching their path of protection, and even Hill and those Toril Deities are observing them.

If this time, under everyone’s watchful eyes, the Black Rose and Magic Cult’s joint effort still results in a failure to protect the target, then the friendly relations that the two families had painstakingly built with Hill and the native forces of Toril would vanish completely.

The next time a similar task arises, they’ll have no choice but to offer themselves up for selection alongside other families, instead of being able to directly take on the task as they do now.

If things reach that point, the two families will surely experience a massive loss of personnel… They may collapse completely or even be forced to withdraw from the game, which will be their future.

Being an initiator of a large-scale mission is, of course, an opportunity, but opportunity always comes hand in hand with crisis.

Although their demeanor appeared indifferent, it’s evident that the focus of the Black Rose and the Magic Cult was heavily placed on Ningbrol Island… Treating mutual destruction with the enemy as a habit is not something ordinary family members can achieve.

After all… though pain can be minimized, it’s not entirely painless.

These mages moved swiftly, strapping bombs to themselves right after the ‘Perfect Baldy’ shouted, and hurled themselves at the Blue Bear that was rushing over the sea water towards them.

Edna had just recalled Bigby’s Crushing Hand again and hurled it at Ambori, who was almost at the ship’s edge, when she was startled by the actions of the Undead Tribe… She was almost dazed, watching countless colorful fireworks explode on the enormous body of the bear.

The enormous bear barely managed to swipe its claws at the magic ship, and it was the few knights facing it head-on who were sent flying, rather than the magic ship being significantly damaged; it was actually the self-destructing mages who couldn’t stop their leaps that caused more harm.

The massive body of the Blue Bear slowly dissipated into the wind, but a black light shot directly out from it and fell back onto the shore.

“Stop! Stop! Stop!” ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ shouted from the air, “Prepare for the next round!

Edna, can’t you suppress Ambori?”

Edna silently nodded… Ambori, who could turn into water and slip away, made her Crushing Hand nothing more than a powerful Fiji Palm that could only strike once.

Just in this brief moment, she had already brought back this spell three times.

“Then leave Ambori be, it’s not like she does much harm anyway.” ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ glanced at the Goddess of the Sea still chasing after ‘Perfect Baldy’, “Moreover, she’s really a bit silly.

This time, Baldy’s going to become a deity because of her!

Huh, if it were me, I would have long since killed that little bouncy bean… She doesn’t even know how to use Ice Arrow? Is this really the Goddess of the Sea?

Ambori always manages to refresh my understanding of the deities.”

“Well… The divine rights she shared with Olypher were all snatched up by Talos.” Edna couldn’t help but explain a couple of sentences for Ambori, who was about to become Toril’s laughingstock over there, “Olypher is the same, even losing the Ice Storms on the sea. Otherwise, she wouldn’t so ruthlessly sever all extensions of Divine Power outside the Great Glacier.

But as for Ambori, she has nowhere to hide, she can only hang on like this.”

Moreover, Olypher could rely on her beauty to prevent Talos from being too ruthless… what is Ambori to do?

She has indeed tried to woo Talos… hmm… But even if she turns into a beauty, others won’t forget what she really looks like!

Talos would never admit to any ambiguity with Ambori… As for the rumors outside… ah, there are countless people on Toril who would paint Ambori’s unrequited love as a scandal.

As long as Ambori publicly shows her admiration, that’s enough.

The problem is, Talos has many enemies!

Edna could even recall how Lady Midnight added fuel to this rumor and had the Harpist swiftly spread the message all over.

Mystra really has an innate advantage in spreading news that’s not too real but certainly entertaining.

Plus, with Oghma’s subtle help, Ambori ended up surpassing Olypher’s status, becoming Talos’ recognized lover on the Ferun Great Land.

That time, even Sel and the reclusive Icewind Valley, who rarely connect with them, joined this delightful news-spreading line… It’s rare for all the forces on Ferun to unite on something: disgust Talos.

‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ sneered twice, it seemed Edna’s explanation was completely futile… The young girl sighed softly to herself… With the powerful Sea Goddess like Agleya upfront, they, the ones from Toril, truly are nothing.

“Ah! Damn it!” With a cry of pain, a massive spear suddenly pierced through ‘Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’, who was commanding with a tiny snail in midair.

Edna abruptly turned her head… Marla, with his antlers, stood on the shore, glaring fiercely over with his blood-red eyes.
