Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1344: Chapter 1134: Baldy’s Joy Turns to Sorrow

The disguised Archmage Oma was not unaware that there are people in this world who harm others without benefiting themselves.

But at least harm others, right?

Such words, what harm could they possibly do to an Archmage?

Even if he truly hailed from Harua, it would be the same.

How many true Mages genuinely revere the deities from the bottom of their hearts? It’s just that no one can break away from the Weave!

If it weren’t the case, Harua wouldn’t have so many Mages openly abandoning Mystra to convert to Azuth.

Isn’t that also a public humiliation to the current Goddess of Magic? When Black Eye was in power, there weren’t many Mages in Harua claiming their faith in the Deity of Mages.

Elminster’s attitude towards Azuth is actually very typical... Most Mages are egomaniacs, never thinking the world of magic is inferior to the deities.

Who doesn’t know they were just retaliating against Midnight cutting off the Weave from the Evil Faction?

Even if most aren’t from the Evil Faction, can the Mages really stand with the deities?

’Perfect Bald’ was quite satisfied with the sudden silence of the white-bearded old man opposite him... The benefit he wanted was to make him shut up!

Of course, it would be even better if they couldn’t help but start a fight, as they were prepared anyway.

Villains die from talking too much, isn’t this common knowledge across worlds?

Why doesn’t this old man understand the value of silence is golden!

If you’re going to fight, just do it! Those engaging in pointless chat are the most hateful, and even more hateful is being forced to accompany it.

Oma’s mind had already shifted to whether those Mystra candidates sent to the Border Kingdom had any Undead Tribe’s treachery... but he actually had no interest in this matter.

He actually rather liked the former Lady Midnight... If she and Kranvo hadn’t been so opposed to evil, how would he have gained so much divinity?

If Midnight returned to a neutral position, she would inevitably reclaim those divine domains scattered to Visaron, which would instead be troublesome for him.

But for such a benefit, it’s not enough for Visaron to do something for Midnight... No one likes looking at their Main Deity with disdain, right?

He later reconnected with Talos, precisely because the new Mystra was so unreliable?

Looks like someone bound to be overthrown sooner or later!

A deity controlling Mages can be insidious and ruthless, but not too naively innocent... Having a naive superior among a group of undying seniors?

Reality is not a fairy tale, even her faithful knight Kranvo can’t save her.

Moreover, Visaron was well-aware that doing bad things was inevitable for him.

So, although Talos only slightly threatened him after discovering his restlessness, Visaron straightforwardly colluded with this recently betrayed Main Deity.

It’s not that Visaron was audacious and shameless, but he always had a hunch... Talos simply didn’t care about his betrayal.

This Storm God appeared domineering and greedy, vengeful yet petty, but Visaron always felt that Talos actually cared about nothing on Toril.

He seemed solely focused on making himself more powerful; apart from that, no matter how loudly he shouted or acted insanely, the core Talos felt nothing.

Otherwise, Marla and Ambori wouldn’t have ended up pathetically like this... No normal Main Deity would treat their Lesser Gods this way; who wouldn’t flee if they could?

Even the slightly intelligent wouldn’t choose to be under Talos; otherwise, The Fury Camp’s slogan would greatly attract the Evil Deities.

So, Visaron somewhat suspects whether Marla was truly devoured by Sebek.

That monkey, though seemingly a fool... well, in reality, he is, but with extraordinarily tenacious life force.

To be replaced so stealthily... with Ambori next door to plead for help, seems unlikely.

Even though Ambori was highly unreliable, she would truly lend Marla a helping hand upon discovery.

Otherwise, cold-hearted entities like Olypoher and Marla wouldn’t have decent relations with the Goddess of the Sea.

Ambori, like the Sharkmen she created, was ugly, evil, with an especially vile character, bullying the weak while fearing the strong, but she did understand a bit about cooperation.

If Sebek were truly that capable, the crocodile incarnation wouldn’t be so easily devoured by Marla... Oma suspects Marla did it intentionally.

After all, the Mulholland Pantheon hardly cares who is inside Sebek; they completely can revamp things!

Of course, in the past, Marla might not have had the guts for this.

But leaving The Fury Camp and living well while backhandedly reconnecting with Talos, plus Olypoher decisively abandoning most of his strength beneath the glacier, estimated to give this monkey a bit of courage.

Don’t think Marla lacks intelligence, but truly has a beast-like instinct, knowing how to survive.

Among Talos’s subordinates, the faintest and most indecisive is indeed Ambori.

But that’s also because she is incredibly weak... she’s neither capable of learning from Marla to turn herself into a member of another God System... the Goddess Agleya is not someone Sebek can compare with.

Nor does she dare to sever her power like Olypoher... her entanglement with Talos is the tightest; truly cutting it would probably make maintaining her demigod status difficult.

In recent years, it’s all thanks to her Sharkmen sustaining her.

Moreover, because Agleya’s power actually sliced several oceans apart, Ambori instead got a chance to catch its breath.

As long as it can survive, Ambori won’t do anything at all.

However, as long as you’re not a member of The Fury Camp, it’s not bad to cooperate a little with Talos. This Storm God is exceptionally generous when dealing with outsiders... this contradictory behavior is truly baffling.

Visaron within Oma’s body quietly fell into deep thought.

Watching the ’Perfect Bald’ tilt his head to look at him, with no intention of attacking while he pondered, Archmage Oma’s eyes couldn’t help but flicker slightly, as if indifferent to the previous matters, he smiled and said: ”Harua has many factions, and I can’t say that nobody has done anything to Kelben.

But at least, our faction has no interest in the affairs of Sword Bay.”

Visaron probably only cares about Sel.

’Perfect Bald’ looked oddly at Archmage Oma a few more times... How did this guy’s aura suddenly weaken?

The previous one, if he had really claimed to be Elminster, might have caused some hesitation.

But this one now, tsk, even Kelben has more credentials than him, doesn’t he?

Also, were those another set of eyes flashing behind his own just now?

Very familiar with the Righteous Knights... Before the Magicplague began, the Clan Leader of the Black Rose, who had even fought alongside the Silver Knights, wasn’t new to this kind of situation!

Avatar Incarnation?

An Avatar Incarnation related to Harua?

’Perfect Bald’ blinked... They’ve seen quite a bit of the God of Prophecy Safras’s methods; that guy always hides himself well.

After all, that transparent head still wishes to stay behind the Goddess Mystra, so he absolutely wouldn’t expose himself.

So that leaves only Visaron!

If it’s him, that would be reasonable.

However, Marla doesn’t have the ability to command him.

But how did a Master Hunter from Anmur attract Talos?

Oh right, that Storm God... is he at Kalinsan now?

’Perfect Bald’ couldn’t help but glance south: The Old Dog must have really wanted Wenjian to make a move on that mage fortress with the sea on one side and the lake on the other, maybe, perhaps, not just to trick the Road Eunuch?

Tsk~

The Road Eunuch will probably feel worse knowing about it... Trickery by chance and intentionally causing trouble are valued completely differently!

”Damn it! Useless scum raised by Marla!”

’Perfect Bald’s’ contemplation was abruptly interrupted by Archmage Oma’s sudden leap.

The old rascal is really wicked. Before going up, he fiercely swung the Staff of the Archmage in his hand, causing fire walls to appear among the crowd... the better dressed, the fiercer the fire.

Especially those in the Ruby Full Body Armor, they were almost burnt into a sea of fire!

Also surrounded by flames, ’Perfect Bald’ curled his small body into a ball, hiding under his Legendary Shield, and started laughing proudly.

Heh-hee~ Experience preserved!

This guy actually used fire!

He touched the beautiful hairband inlaid with sea blue pearls and sapphires on his twin ponytails... Is Visaron stupid?

Those from Agleya, how could they be afraid of fire?

Even magic flames are the same... just dodge the first strike!

How hard is it to pull out a strange object from the bag?

Once the battlefield was cleared by the Water Mages who arrived later, ’Perfect Bald’ emerged from behind the shield to count the casualties, eyes widening: ”How can so many people be dead?”

Offering family members to die heroically definitely requires compensation, he thought he could save some money this time!

”The firewalls sprayed from the sky to the ground, leaving at least 3 seconds of dodge time! Even if you don’t have fireproof strange objects on you...” He stomped furiously on the carriage, ”Elves have a jump distance of 20 meters, right? Can’t you jump backward?”

”What are you expecting? Master.” Little Deer, directing the Priest Corps to pull up people on the ground, looked up at him with disbelief, ”If they could make the correct judgment within 3 seconds, how could they be in the Dare to Die Squad?

Our margin for error is always 10 seconds passing, 5 seconds to enter the Main Battle Group, isn’t it?”

”Some even jumped forward, straight into the overlapping fires! The fire is quite fierce, wearing glass steel is useless!” Some, who happened to carry fireproof strange objects, actually survived and were currently touring the corpses on the ground... Such an opportunity was quite rare for them too.

Normally, they would be lying alongside one another, brothers and sisters.

”No matter how high the magic resistance of glass steel, it can’t bear standing in the flame without coming out.” ’Perfect Bald’ finished calculating the money, immediately losing his enthusiasm.

”Don’t be mad now!” Little Deer said with a chuckling smile, ”A Baba timed it so well, tsk tsk~ Ten Thousand Arrows Pierce Heart along with Ten Thousand Pigs Trample~”
