Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1316: Chapter 1107: The Final Battle on Ningbrol Island

Of course, Edna knows who Road Eunuch is.

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ provides a more detailed introduction about those with enmity towards the Black Rose than he does about his own people.

Especially regarding Road Eunuch.

It’s important to note that, even now, the Strange Objects Shop in Agleya City still doesn’t allow this ‘Lu Huayu’ to shop inside.

While other ordinary stores do let him in, the discounts meant for the Undead Tribe never include him.

This was granted after Road Eunuch diligently completed a year of atonement tasks, receiving a special pardon, and it’s not just him who receives this treatment but others from his supposedly later merged family too.

Still, Edna thinks Hill is too tolerant, even somewhat like Celene.

Yet that Maiden of the Moon doesn’t really care about anyone or anything at heart… It seems she treats everyone equally, but in reality, no one really matters.

Oh, and there’s also the Goddess of Peace who never fusses over things; however, despite also being part of the Natural Divine System, comparing her to Hill would honestly be an insult to Hill.

That would be mentally unsound.

Edna shook her head, knowing Hill somewhat; perhaps only due to deep friendships does he view the Undead Tribe differently and grant them special treatment.

The Lord of Agleya she knows has always advocated an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, with a rather decisive style; it’s improbable that within a few short years he’d change from gentle and amicable to resolute and swift, right?

That would’ve been maturing too fast.

Unlike her sudden forced maturation.

But Edna still doesn’t quite understand Hill’s reasoning; even if he gave up on pursuing most of the Undead Tribe for some reason, it’s overly magnanimous… If it were her, having barely escaped a life-and-death crisis, she would never forgive someone much weaker than her so easily.

It’s understandable if one chooses to yield in the face of a strong individual.

For instance, right now, knowing well that Shaer is undoubtedly observing her various struggles, what can Edna do?

No matter how much she despises Shaer internally, confronting harsh reality only leaves her silent.

How many Mages have swapped seats? The Lady of the Dark Night, aiming for a world-ending goal, is still lively, even has a boyfriend now!

But Hill completely managed to keep that Undead Tribe out of his sight, didn’t he?

Edna doesn’t believe William would become enemies with Hill over such a trivial matter… Especially not now, with Hill both powerful himself and backed by strong forces.

Yet Hill really let this matter breeze away.

Of course, Edna knows Road Eunuch is competent, but what does that have to do with Hill?

Not killing him is one thing, but shouldn’t Hill at least tolerate his presence before him?

Nevertheless, neither the ‘Old Age Striking King’ nor anyone else sees it as that serious; they mock Road Eunuch for his failed attempts without any care.

Hill has never shown hatred towards these people either… Even when seeing him lead his family over in Yinbutu to become a city lord.

Although the Clan Leader isn’t ‘Lu Huayu’, the Main Handler is him!

Sometimes Edna wonders if the Undead Tribe, or even Hill himself, is seeing too broadly… Retreating, does that really lead to a wide-open world?

Isn’t Hill… and William’s relationship going to develop rifts due to that accidental incident?

If it were a Toril strong person here, such an issue would be enough to make both become eternal foes.

However, Hill’s composure and the Undead Tribe’s nonchalance indeed have brought Edna some unclear influence: right now, Edna doesn’t care about those mortals trying to benefit from her on the Path of Destiny.

Even seeing Quel Senta’s pieces, Edna remains undisturbed, too lazy even to get angry.

All her rage targets those deities acting behind the scenes.

Needless to say, there is some benefit, at least most people haven’t suspected her to be a reborn Midnight.

After all, even Azuth, who only had slight plans, couldn’t tolerate the stubborn bull seeing such a group compete with him for the Goddess of Magic position without causing havoc.

How could she, like Edna, happily treasure-hunt with friends, ignoring what’s happening there?

Edna shakes her head, halting her wandering thoughts, refocusing for now; she still doesn’t understand why they specifically had to summon Road Eunuch from Yinbutu… Despite his skilled manipulation, the Undead Tribe has many like him!

Edna asks, somewhat puzzled: “Why bring him over from Yinbutu?

Isn’t there something for him to do in Giant Valley?

Can’t someone else handle communication with Ambori?”

“You’re still young, so you don’t understand…” The ‘Sui Chen’ standing before her responds with a somewhat awkward tone, “A man like him, adept at dealing with all kinds of women, how rare they are.

In this world, the ones who understand women the most are not women, but eunuchs.

Normal men can’t achieve such a split… being able to show admiration and love while empathizing with the other person.

Edna couldn’t quite grasp Sui Chen’s words; even after searching the depths of her soul for memories, she still didn’t understand much. So the little girl just engraved these words in her memory and developed a significant sense of caution towards such creatures as eunuchs.

Soon, this caution turned into full-fledged wariness, as Ambori surrendered way too quickly… even if Talos personally appeared, he wouldn’t have gotten the truth out of her so fast.

Not even a few minutes had passed before Chattering looked at the tablet and said, “On Ningbrol Island, there’s a locator dug out from the Imaskari ruins that can send signals to other universes and open dimensional gates.

Ambori didn’t know what such a massive thing could do during the Magicplague period, so she didn’t care and let the crocodile take it to the island.

That… is probably the door that allowed Imaskari to directly storm into the Beastmen Universe back then.”

Edna tucked a strand of hair blown onto her cheek by the cold wind behind her ear and said seriously, “Though the Ningbrow Astrolabe is usually used only for teleporting on the Ferun Great Land, it can be positioned to other universes; it just requires immense energy.

And the space puzzle lock on Ningbrol Island can prevent others from pinpointing the island, whether in Toril or in other universes.”

“It seems that Sebek is quite wary of that Pharaoh from the Mulholland Pantheon!” Chattering remarked while both sending out Edna’s intelligence and expressing his sentiment.

Edna tilted her head, pondered for a moment, and understood Chattering’s implication. The Mulholland Pantheon certainly knows how to come to Toril… AO has never stopped anyone who wants to come to Toril.

As for what happens after arriving, it mainly depends on whether the person is useful to Toril.

Sebek, however, left himself an exit strategy. In case of any problem, he can leave Toril at any time and not even return to Mulholland, yet he can come back to Toril once the matter is settled.

After all, he devoured Marla; when the time comes, he can completely act as another Xaries.

“Are you saying that the crocodile will fight us to the death for this island?” Sui Chen asked excitedly.

“No, he’s probably already figuring out how to escape with that gigantic machinery. Toril has other places that can prevent space positioning, not just this one.

Without Ambori’s help, he won’t find it easy to live freely on the high seas,” Chattering replied, “But the Old Dog over there is almost done; we just need to sign the agreement.

We also have to hurry and get Edna to imprint her hand!”

“Can’t we let Hill sign in her place?” Sui Chen was a bit confused.

“Are you foolish? Not to mention that Hill has never liked signing any alliance agreements with the Toril people,” Chattering said as he glanced at the knight, “He’ll make Lynn and Edna each sign for themselves, representing their own city. Can’t you see that?”

“Oh~ Luskan.” Sui Chen exclaimed in sudden realization, “I almost forgot that place still belongs to Agleya.

Laila has already left with her sisters, wouldn’t Hill just kick her out?”

“Hill wouldn’t be bothered with such trivial matters.” Chattering said nonchalantly.

Edna looked at the giant crocodile being unable to withstand the pressure from the Undead Tribe, “Sebek is getting slower and slower in waking new crocodiles.

Do we need to intercept that gate-opening instrument?”

“Old Dog is communicating with William… who knows if Shaer wants it or not!” Chattering whispered as much as possible.

“Hmm?” He replied in a peculiar tone, “William sent a very formal statement: After discussions with Toril’s friendly deities… Shaer, Celene, Lansendel, Tyr, and Tampas, it was decided to leave that thing for Mulholland.

What does that mean?”

“What does Snow Cloud Peak say?” Edna didn’t answer immediately but instead asked back.

“Old Dog said… the native deities of Toril, probably intend to shut the door and beat the dog.”

Edna nodded thoughtfully.

Their conversation was cut short by the commotion in the rear; the final battle had begun.

Nearly a hundred thousand people emerged from several reserve cabins, most of whom were mages. After coming out, they immediately flew into the sky.

Sebek, the giant crocodile at the front of the magic ship confronting the knights, suddenly froze… He abruptly turned into sand, trying to escape.

After all, even a brainless Marla would immediately run away when it’s obvious that the odds are against him.

However, the Undead Tribe had no intention of letting him leave easily. The mages who came out instantly flew into the sky, and with their movement, the snowstorm clouds expanded madly outward.

Sebek persisted for a while and soon turned from a sandstorm into silt, then tried to sink into the ocean.

But in just a moment, the Undead Tribe had turned the nearby sea area into ice.

Sebek still had a chance to escape, but clearly, he must leave behind the majority of his power.

That means until Toril reopens the frontier, Sebek could only linger in some place.

This Mulholland vanguard, which had been prepared many years ago, was now basically wasted.
