Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1342: Chapter 1132: The Puzzling ’Talos

’Perfect Bald’ squinted and smiled charmingly... Standing on the other side, ’Xiao Liuliu’ had already slipped away, deftly weaving through the cover of the large group, and arrived by a five-meter-high boulder near the lake, taking over command directly.

Moreover, she wisely summoned a sturdy yet cute-looking alchemy carriage.

Baldy’s words seemed to mock the old mage but were actually a reminder for her.

Elminster is definitely not on the Ferun Great Land; the Undead Tribe is quite certain about this... The information confirmed simultaneously by Shaer, Celene, and Lansendel cannot possibly be false.

’Perfect Bald’ directly exposed the old man’s implication that he was Elminster, essentially to focus the old man’s attention entirely on himself.

After all, he didn’t actually know why the old man would bother with this useless disguise... Shaer’s ambiguous relationship with William is certainly known among the upper echelons of Ferun Great Land.

Anyone unaware of this... wouldn’t have the capability to flaunt in front of the Undead Tribe.

Everyone knows that Elminster’s whereabouts cannot be a secret to the Undead Tribe... The old man is too aged, staying in the time-frozen Stellar Realm for most of the time to maintain his lucidity.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have created an Elminster’s Star.

Having no goodwill towards the current Goddess of Magic and Azuth, he certainly wouldn’t burn his own life and Mental Sea to rush from the Stellar Realm into Toril for the grand reason of saving the goddess.

’Perfect Bald’ suspected that the old man was testing him, the clan leader in charge, to see what kind of personality he really has.

If he didn’t expose the old man as a fake Elminster... the old man’s attitude might be different.

Instead of discussing with him how to deal with a Master Hunter from Marla, constantly mentioning how cruel Anmur’s Master Hunter is... specifically hunting druids: the bear head on him is not a real bear but a druid transformed.

’Perfect Bald’ thought that this guy probably wouldn’t lie to him about this... So he shouted without hesitation, ”Romance, take the swordsmen over, we must not let this guy go!”

It seemed that he was still the one commanding the entire army.

’Xiao Liuliu’ peeked at Baldy, who had begun chatting idly with the old mage, quietly closed the door of the carriage, and the first thing she did was send a message to Agleya’s allies to stay put: ”Go find out if Harua has any connections with an Archmage and Elminster.”

Then she leisurely sent a message to Snow Old Dog: Even though she didn’t know if the dog mage wanted to fish out this old man, she reported it just in case.

Then ’Xiao Liuliu’ frowned, looking toward the chaotic situation with Esmir-Talan caused by the Knight Corps. If this guy was really from Harua, does it mean they’ve finally grasped the main storyline?

William, that dog planner, provides no clues at all.

Without Snow Old Dog’s wit and informational prowess, who could have imagined any connection between the seemingly unrelated Anmur, Giant Valley, and Harua?

Moreover, ’Xiao Liuliu’ looked down at the timeline comparison between Toril and Teraxil... Teraxil, initially in a folded space, had a timeline that didn’t match with Toril.

Just like the difference between their Undead Tribe’s world and Toril... Fast and slow are relative.

However, ten thousand years ago, Toril and Teraxil gradually became parallel lines.

Back then, Teraxil had the White Wolf God, who fell in love with the Lake Goddess, and the most powerful Mage Kingdom on the Ferun Great Land, Imasca, officially went offline... followed by the rise of Naesreiel.

Harua and Anmur’s issues arose after Naesreiel’s downfall!

’Xiao Liuliu’ sighed gently; she still couldn’t figure out whether it was old antiques from ten thousand years ago living until now or someone inheriting those things.

Anyway, there’s always such an enemy present.

Forget it, if she couldn’t figure it out, she’d let someone else ponder over it... In any case, she wasn’t skilled at thinking, especially when she’s dealing with the ”pregnancy brain” effect.

”Who is... that?”

Hill looked at Celene and asked in surprise.

”He altered his appearance,” said Shaer lightly.

”Magic cannot deceive my eyes!” Celene said discontentedly, ”Everyone’s magic aura is different; I can’t mistake it.”

”And yet, you didn’t recognize this one?” Shaer smirked disdainfully.

”You know them?” Celene quickly turned to look at her sister, ”How could there be an Archmage you recognize that I don’t?

Archmages from the Underdark are also originally from the surface!”

”I don’t know!” Shaer said coldly, ”But I recognize that aura from the Shadow.”

”Shade Soul City?” Lansendel’s eyes widened.

”Shadow doesn’t necessarily mean a Lich,” Shaer’s purple-black eyes manifested a faint shadow, ”The one easiest to impersonate a mage could also be a deity.”

”Safras?” Celene exclaimed, ”No, no, it’s Visaron! What is he up to?”

”Visaron... How could he be linked to Elminster?” Hill asked somewhat puzzled, ”He’s... not Sel’s Red Robe Mage?”

”Before ascending to godhood, Visaron was also an ancient mage. His former true name is unknown to anyone now.” Lansendel laughed, ”He was able to fight with Sazzastan... Although he lost, it at least proved he had the capability.

Plus, the demigod ascension Talos arranged for him mostly utilized the lich ritual he had prepared for himself!

There are many people in Sel’s Red Robes who were once archmages on the surface in Naesreiel.

They were all refused entry into the Floating City for various reasons, especially those from the Necromancy Sect.

Otherwise, Shade Soul City wouldn’t have such a poor relationship with Sel.”

”So... Visaron could possibly be associated with someone from Mystranor City?” Hill asked further.

”Hill, indeed a smart child~” Lansendel laughed, ”directly pinpointed the key.”

”Hmm? Why not from Ascalanta people?” Celene asked puzzled.

”Can’t you use your brain a bit?” Shaer turned to stare at her slow-witted sister, ”Elminster smashed how many of his plots during those centuries when Visaron was advancing to demigod!

If they were related, how could they not recognize each other?

Elminster is not truly intolerant of evil, he’s very protective, Xinbu caused so much trouble, didn’t he step in to suppress it all?

Such a person, how could he let his blood relative fall to first being exploited by Talos, then bowing to Azuth?

Heh... That guy always thought Azuth wasn’t really a mage.”

This... Hill was aware that if it weren’t for Elminster’s unwillingness, he would have been the first Deity of Mages.

Though she knew the old mage disregarded those who believed in deities, Shaer was still a bit annoyed.

”What’s the matter with this old guy?” Celene indifferently asked, ”To be able to escape my eyes, this couldn’t possibly be an avatar incarnation, could he also have a divine descent?”

”Harua has a place of faith for Visaron.” Shaer chuckled, ”With the help of Midnight, the followers grew from hundreds to tens of thousands.

After all, they are all mages; it’s possible to create a barely usable divine descent.”

”So... it’s still Harua?” Hill lowered his eyes, drawing lines on paper, ”No... Harua might have participants, but it’s definitely not the true mastermind!

After all... there are also quite a number of people from Naesreiel still alive today.”

Then he quietly wrote out all the countries and forces that appeared thus far, even some solitary mages, then connected lines continuously to the list of Toril deities.

Then he suddenly stopped his pen, a particularly significant name emerged before him... Talos.

Only he has connections in every matter... Even though they are very few, some are only connected with dotted lines indicating potential ties... but indeed there are continuous connections.

He could even connect with Radug, the God of the Gray Dwarves!

He actually has little connection with the Chief Orc God, but there are rumors of dealings with the lesser gods of the Orcish Pantheon.

Hill couldn’t help but gently scratch his face: In his memory, and even through his years in Toril, he always perceived the Storm God as the leader of an idiot god group, a greedy and foolish unlucky one.

Yet... this fellow who created the disaster in Out of Xil was cautious and prudent beyond compare.

Up till now, he couldn’t even grasp a coherent clue... It seemed scattered everywhere, but unfortunately, there were no loose threads to pull.

Most importantly, why would the Storm God be connected with Gewoosh the Chief Orc God?

Talos was born in the storm from the conflict between Shaer and Celene!

He’s a native Toril deity!

Hill wavered a little, yet still couldn’t relinquish his suspicion of the Storm God... might as well let List send word to the Undead Tribe.

Regardless of the outcome, let’s investigate first.

The Undead Tribe is always adept at finding clues.

It’s quite possible there are some things he can’t see from above which might be there, only accessible to someone lucky enough to uncover them.

The luck of the Undead Tribe might be problematic, but they always observe everything... even checking passing ants, perhaps they can uncover this matter.

Hill looked up at the Lady of the Night and the Maiden of the Moon, who were discussing whether Celene was truly foolish.

Both he and William understood that as long as they were willing to bow and request... that god above the gods of Toril would surely be willing to unravel the mystery for them, might even voluntarily assist.

But neither of them would, nor could, make that request.

They were souls with a former home, bodies with a new dust, leaving no room for a third place of belonging.
