Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1318: Chapter 1109: The Disregarded Shantia

”Anmur again?” Leonard couldn’t help but ask Elvia.

”Hmm... but that should be something from before Anmur was founded!” Elvia said, a bit confused, ”But how should I say it~ Humans never like to learn from history, don’t respect it much, but love to dig out things that have long been thrown into the trash from history and use them again.

So, there are some things I don’t know if Anmur is still doing now.

That country is very resistant to foreign magic, they all learn that same set of stuff, actual mages really dislike it there, so I don’t pay much attention.”

Edna chuckled: ”Anyway, they’re not up to any good.

Whether it’s Sebek or Marla, neither have the ability to excavate Imasca ruins.

The people and divine beasts mixed in the middle, who knows how many there are!

Ha~it’s all stuff that will eventually get axed.”

”If they’re seeking death, let them!” ’Old Age Striking King’ said leisurely, ”I say, Liuliu Jieer~ aren’t you going to pull Baldy up?

Planning to send him directly from Agleya to Snowfall Island?

But our ship, if we tidy it up, can still sail, right?

After all, he’s the ship owner.”

”Ah!” ’Xiao Liuliu’ quickly ran to the back of the ship, ”Oh my goodness~ I forgot about Baldy~”

”How did Baldy offend Sister Liu again?” ’Chattering’ said softly, ”I don’t believe she didn’t see Baldy yelling for help in the chat.”

’Old Age Striking King’ said seriously, ”Sister Liu wasn’t holding the tablet.”

”Are all women’s names synonymous with playing dumb?” ’Sui Chen’ patted his clothes, turned and asked with a cheeky grin.

”You see, now is not the time to show you’re a wise one, right?” ’Old Age Striking King’ coldly glanced at ’Sui Chen’, ”Talking too much will earn you a beating, got it?”

”So... does it mean we’re supposed to mind our own business?” ’Chattering’ said straightforwardly.

”When couples are fooling around, even the dumbest should know that outsiders should best stay away.

Don’t make me feel, that the reason single dogs are single, focuses on the dog.”

’Old Age Striking King’ beckoned to Edna, nodding with satisfaction: apart from the wind messing up her hair, the young lady was unharmed.

Even the glow of the Ein Stone hadn’t faded much.

”How was it? Enjoy the battle?” She asked with a bright smile.

”Mm~” Edna walked to her side, followed her into the cabin, ”Next time I think I’ll perform better, still got a bit nervous this time.

It’s unavoidable, haven’t had many real combats;

those fought before, were not smart enough, not as agile.”

”Actually, there’s no need to be too tense.” ’Old Age Striking King’ said bluntly, ”You just have to look at Hill, as long as you don’t have psychological shadows over killing, you really don’t need battle training.

Being stronger, much stronger than the enemy, is the best way to win.

If we talk about battle experience, our Little Bear... indeed has very little, all depends on brute force.”

”But he... has to handle them though...” Edna said with a sigh.

’Old Age Striking King’ gently tilted her head, saying with a smile in her eyes, ”If you can’t win, just run, right?

Why else would I always have you keep an escape spell ready?

Nowadays, slipping away is the truth, to push through...depends on what it’s for.

Life principles are undeniably important, but nothing matters more than life and death.”

She paused a step, then added: ”Unless someone is attacking your home, needing you to protect your family, that... is worth fighting for.

But really, it just means you place your family’s life before yours, so, life is still the most important.”

Edna pursed her lips, nodding heavily.

The Black Rose magic ship was heavily damaged, but only a few masts fell, they had a considerable number of puppets on board, and a good supply of materials, making repairs fairly easy.

So, ten minutes after ’Perfect Bald’ was finally pulled up, the big Black Rose ship set sail, heading straight for Snowfall Island.

At this moment on Snowfall Island, the ruined castle on the cliff had been cleaned up, and a magnificent Alchemy Hall appeared in its place.

In fact, William still gave the Moonshadow Archipelago some time to react... but it wasn’t until several major temples sent their Chosen over, even making some comparisons halfway to see who had driven away more dragons.

Chromatic Dragons are not foolish. Upon discovering that the Undead Tribe had cooperated with those two Black Dragons to eliminate a fleet of Anmur’s regular navy, they naturally guessed that something was left by Imasca on Snowfall Island.

Though they dared not guess it was a Mithril Mine, even if it were just a Sapphire Mine, it would be worth the dragons’ while to try to sneak in and make a grab.

Moreover, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ hoped that the Anmur envoy in the mine would soon come out with the captured Quel Senta Female Mage, so they had the Undead Tribe dig deep on the island.

Yet for all this time, the queen of the Moonshadow Archipelago remained silent, puzzling even the Double-headed Giants who realized something, as they stood on the cliff, gazing toward the Royal City.

”How interesting, such a great upheaval, yet Shantia remains completely silent, as if Snowfall Island doesn’t exist.

Not even a sign of her fighting for her queen’s believers’ rights.

It seems to her, her Divine Power matters more than her followers... but then again, she never really demanded much from them, so naturally, she doesn’t feel the need to fulfill their desires.

Being able to have her beastly children protect the Moonshadow Archipelago from foreign invasion is already quite exceptional for that Mother Earth.

So, Celene, if Marla’s believers began to wreak havoc again, would she feel disappointed by their incompetence and choose to leave the Moonshadow Archipelago, as she did before?

Or would she furiously strike for those few loyal followers?”

In the Floating Castle, Shaer leaned against a deck chair, seemingly casually asking her sister.

”Didn’t she leave the Moonshadow Archipelago last time because her child Leviathan was killed by Karagos, who posed as the king?” Lansendel asked with an innocent look. ”This time, it’s Marla who’s acting, and her unicorn son Kemelion and the Direwolf Pack aren’t so easy to kill, right?”

Celene looked at Lansendel with displeasure: ”Just because you don’t like her, you don’t have to mock her, do you?”

Celene was genuinely a bit upset.

Shaer mocking Shantia was normal, as she always looked down on that Earth Goddess who instigated everything yet dared not take a bit of responsibility. But Lansendel... even though he disliked Shantia’s pursuits, he shouldn’t have displayed such lack of grace.

Lansendel chuckled softly and then rolled over onto the lawn: ”I am quite pleased to see her true face clearly.

Luckily, I didn’t choose to involve with her out of loneliness and boredom.

She’s really too indifferent... even if we have a Shaer among us, she shouldn’t be so unconcerned about the nation her followers painstakingly unified for her, right?

Even if efforts would be in vain and she might even get vanquished by Shaer, appearing or not appearing... there’s a huge difference!

Her followers wouldn’t abandon their faith in her because she got badly defeated by Shaer!

Isn’t that quite normal?”

Shaer let out a cold laugh: ”She always thinks she’s the clearest-headed. Even if the Moonshadow Archipelago is her last piece of land with believers, she would still be this way... so you should understand why the number of Earth Druids is so small, right?

Besides humans who follow her due to agriculture, don’t all other races seek out the Natural Divine System?

Similarly not very concerned about changing the world, but at least the Natural Divine System will act for their truly loyal followers.”

Hill softly turned his head for a glance... Celene didn’t outright deny the sharpness in Lansendel’s words, after all, who the king was that killed Leviathan couldn’t have been unknown to Shantia.

At first, she ignored it, but then used her child’s death as an excuse to abandon those remaining followers who still trusted her, so it’s no wonder the Leviathan Elves, who originally respected her, eventually forsook their faith in her.

Shantia, too fond of evasion, unwilling to shoulder any responsibility, perhaps due to being born during a period when Shaer and Celene were bearing the brunt in the Toril Universe, battling various divine and demonic foes.

The then young and frail Toril World survived due to the Twin Goddesses’ reluctant protection.

This is why the Twin Goddesses were lenient toward the painstakingly born Toril Earth Goddess, and Celene was moved by her plea.

If it were other Primordial Deities, the Maiden of the Moon likely wouldn’t have listened seriously.

But Shantia completely disappointed the two Goddesses, whether with her interest in the more solitary Shaer or causing a rift between Celene and her own sister due to her request... it is evident that it was the last-born Goddess of Magic who eventually helped stabilize the world for Celene.

Otherwise, Shaer wouldn’t have easily stripped her of all underground authority, and Celene wouldn’t have fought for her interests at that time.

If she had even just spoken a word, proclaiming that the ground illuminated by moonlight still belonged to the Earth, Shantia wouldn’t have become an Earth Goddess without Earth Divine Authority.

”Edna is almost at Snowfall Island,” Hill softly broke the garden’s solemn atmosphere... whenever Shantia was mentioned, Shaer and Celene would become slightly serious.

”Ah... Tampas is really getting off easy,” Lansendel readily collaborated with Hill to change the subject, ”considering we can’t forsake this God of Battle for the future war with Mulholland, tsk~”

”No choice, Tyr cannot tell lies,” Celene finally laughed, ”we can’t risk him slipping up at the Pantheon meeting, better bring whoever needs to be brought!”

As for the Evil Faction... Shaer takes it all, and no one dares to speak.
