Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1319: Chapter 1110: Harmonious Meeting of the Chosen of All Gods

Hill has absolutely no interest in figuring out how the Toril Deities plan to deal with the Mulholland Pantheon.

He has already made up his mind that once the World Gate opens, he will immediately leave this troublesome place.

If he hadn’t been clear-headed this time... If Fran hadn’t been there all along, Hill definitely wouldn’t want to affect his grandfather, who dreams of traveling the Multiverse, because of something he might have done. There were several times when he almost couldn’t resist intervening.

Especially when Rose charged to the edge of Agleya City... Actually, as the Lord of Agleya, stepping out to block the Evil Forces from affecting his city is nothing out of the ordinary.

But Hill slowly realized that once enmity is established with the Evil Forces of Toril... Even if the other side strikes first, as soon as you respond, it only leads to endless trouble.

Logically, such animosity and opposition between both sides wouldn’t have much impact.

However, what if one day, during a battle, he accidentally harms some inexplicable passerby who insists on taking a shortcut through the battlefield?

Those epic stories of Toril also aren’t devoid of such situations.

Clearly, it’s a battlefield with dragons where not even a fly is around for miles, yet somehow a pretty girl shows up only to end up half crushed by a punch you throw.

Maybe those heroes enjoy that kind of life where ambition is in their chest, and beauty is in their arms, but Hill can’t accept it... If he truly liked those flawless beauties created entirely following one’s preferences, wouldn’t having a pair of hands be enough for Hill?

He’s always been good at modeling; when uploaded online, people would even come to buy the data... That’s from a neighboring merchants’ guild!

The puppets he creates nowadays can fulfill any need, and absolutely won’t bring along a boatload of trouble!

Hill thought it over and decided to retreat for now. If there’s anything he wants to know, he could come back later to find out.

By then, the Toril aura that slowly entwined around him should be cleansed, and he wouldn’t have to worry about every stranger he meets having ulterior motives... The current Edna still gives him confidence that another Weave collapse is unlikely.

Unless AO decides to initiate another mass Divine Descent.

That wouldn’t happen in another 10,000 years, and he probably can’t pull off those antics again.

The God Above Gods is indeed great, but not to the extent of performing such terrifying acts without paying any cost.

As long as William and Shaer maintain their close relationship, Hill feels that Toril is safe for the time being... He even thinks that AO might feel the same, so he simply tossed the Mulholland Pantheon, which was supposed to emerge much later, directly in front of Edna. She conveniently picked it up while even the always cautious Shaer remained completely unaware!

Looking at the future days of Toril, with fewer infightings and less excitement... wouldn’t he quickly seek out some external battles to test the quality of his own forces?

Anyway, that old fellow can’t stand Toril having too peaceful days... What’s this thing called calm after storm?

It’s the constant upheaval that’s true!

Hill fixed his gaze on the images projected on the giant screen:

A Tyr Paladin holding a thick Mithril Scroll, registering one word at a time; next to him, Thorne, the Captain of the Silver Shield Knights, and Gendilarei, the Chosen of the Lord of Dawn, watching with curiosity.

At a distance, leaning lazily by the floor-to-ceiling window, wearing a Moonstone Crown and an elaborate long gown, was the Silver Archbishop Naneze, who was coldly staring at Iltmara, dressed sensuously with her coal-black hair cascading over an ebony velvet high-slit fitted long dress.

The Chosen of the Lady of the Night was sitting lightly on a high stool by the long bar, seemingly enjoying a drink at ease. But from her occasional glances filled with provocation aimed at the Maiden of the Moon Great Priest, she might have been the one looking for trouble first.

The Fang Group leader from Tampas, who was battle-hardened, carrying an enchanted two-handed sword that seemed to burn, initially stood in the middle of the hall. However, even he didn’t want to be in the sightline of the two ladies. So, draped in a white robe over his iron armor, wearing a meticulous spiked iron glove, after hesitating for a moment, he swiftly joined Edna, cautiously hiding behind three dragons in a corner.

The Black Dragon Brothers and White Dragon Queen at that moment couldn’t bother with their subtle disputes; avoiding being dragged into the conflict between Shaer and Celene was most important than worrying who got the better advantage.

The only one still calm and seated on the luxurious, comfortable sofa in the middle was Agleya’s Lynn.

He naturally had no reaction, as both Iltmara and Naneze deliberately avoided applying pressure to the area he occupied.

After all, they both know, their own Main Gods are still guests in his house!

The reason they are being so fierce is certainly to show loyalty to their Main Gods... But if such loyalty ends up blemishing the face of the Main Gods, wouldn’t that be self-inflicted trouble?

As for Thorne and Gendilarei, they’re indifferent about whether those two ladies would start fighting. They aren’t afraid of such minor troubles... Actually, the Tampas’s man isn’t worried about his life safety; rather, following their God’s style, they cannot engage in a battle where the outcome is indistinguishable.

Edna, from the gap between the three dragons’ wings, quietly observed, occasionally giving a quizzical glance at the Tampas warrior beside her.

”Hello, beautiful lady, may I know your name?” Noticing her gaze, the Fang Group leader extended his ungloved hand in front of her, ”I am Lev Para. It’s an absolute honor to meet such a beautiful girl.”

”Edna.” Edna thought for a moment and only reported her first name.

”Ah, I’ve heard a lot about you~ Your journey has been hard.” Lev said earnestly.

Edna chuckled, ”Though the luck has been a bit strange, it’s still quite interesting; at least I find it interesting.”

Then she glanced at the Undead Tribe and her teammates outside the door, speaking insincerely, ”It would have been better with fewer casualties.

If I hadn’t lost teammates from the start, perhaps my days would’ve been more enjoyable.”

Lev blinked, understanding the nonchalant tone in the young girl’s words... indicating that the Quel Senta’s attempt to woo this girl, who is now highly regarded by all major forces on the Ferun Great Land, had fundamentally failed.

To those remaining few Quel Senta Mages, she might still give some importance, but that was about their mutual friendships, not because of their connections to Edna’s biological father.

Indeed, Lev smiled gently...though for someone towering over two meters with a solid build, his gentleness might still appear somewhat formidable... Quel Senta itself might now be unsure which direction it’s heading towards.

Multi-federation states might seem fine on ordinary days, but at times like these, they are just deadweights... Even Edna’s father couldn’t prevent those Shuni Followers carrying Shards of Mystra’s Soul from approaching his daughter, could he?

He couldn’t help but take a quick glance at the large ship parked far off the cliff... then quickly withdrew his gaze.

What on earth is wrong with the Teraxil Elves? Why put the temple gates on the edge of a cliff?

Every time he looked out, and saw that platform only three meters away from the cliff edge, Lev felt uncomfortable all over.

If one isn’t careful enough and trips, wouldn’t they just roll off the edge?

With steel boots and helmet on, the towering Northern man, nearing 2.8 meters, absolutely couldn’t accept this distance.

He glanced at the elves leaning against the doorframe, peering through the windows... they’re still jostling each other!

One elbow should shove the person next to them directly off the cliff, shouldn’t it?

Noticing his discomfort, Edna cheerfully asked, ”Shall we go inside and take a seat? Over at Lynn’s place, I suppose there’s not much of a feeling about it.”

She wasn’t actually worried about being implicated if those two Chosen fight... Even though Lynn gets slightly better treatment, she’s still part of Agleya, so they couldn’t possibly drag her into the brawl.

But Elvia found herself too bulky, likely to get inadvertently affected, which is why she stood further back, accompanying her friend.

Lev immediately shook his head, ”Definitely not, I’m not worried about them fighting.”

He lowered his voice cautiously, ”I’m afraid of Gendilarei playing tricks on me by asking who would win when the two start fighting.

Remember this, the Lord of Dawn’s followers will always add a bit more to your burden at your most difficult times. They’re only happy when you can’t bear it anymore.

So, no matter how friendly he seems on normal days, it’s meaningless.

When the time comes, he won’t spare you just because of those daily smiles from you.”
