Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1336: Chapter 1127: Hill’s Covert Assistance

”Why send them to the Border Kingdom?” Celene on the Floating Castle couldn’t hold back her curiosity and asked Shaer.

”How do I know what he’s thinking?” Shaer replied leisurely.

”Is there something we’re missing?” Lansendel curiously stretched his neck, ”To make both me and Celene completely unaware, it must be something happening in a place beyond the reach of sun and moon.

Underdark?”

”Impossible! The area where the Undead Tribe resides is in the upper layers of the underworld, where moonlight is folded... Isn’t the only city without it already blown up?” Celene said unhappily, ”It’s normal for you not to know, but for me not knowing is unacceptable.”

Lansendel switched his tone... Celene, who was always deceived by AO, could still boast so shamelessly, leaving him completely uninterested in speaking further: ”Never mind how it’s done, anyway, there’s a lot we’re unaware of.

So, that undead commander should have long been aware of the collusion between Black and White Path and Kui Lu, shouldn’t he?

Kui Lu... Although very naive, her several sisters are not naive.”

He immediately identified the point.

Kui Lu indeed kept lingering around Agleya, but such a big issue as Snowfall Island, knowing Elaströ is safe, she surely has to go take a look.

And when her sisters, who have awkward relations with the Undead Tribe, learn their little sister bypassed them, they certainly wouldn’t miss such a good opportunity.

They even bypassed ’Ink Brush Mortalworld’ and went directly to ’Snow Cloud Peak’.

Clearly, in just these two days, they have figured out a bit of the Undead Tribe’s love-hate relations, and according to Toril’s habit, found the one they considered more suitable and of greater background.

Hill silently read his book.

Originally, he shouldn’t have known either.

But when ’Snow Cloud Peak’ received the message, it happened to be in the lower hall of the Floating Castle... Celene and Lansendel didn’t pay much attention, and this person who came to plead with Hill to reopen the Strange Objects Shop, they didn’t care about his lamenting.

Especially seeing Hill display a heart as tough as iron, indifferent no matter how tragically the other spoke, they became even less interested in listening to a big man crying!

Hill indeed held firm for a long time... even when ’Snow Cloud Peak’ deliberately tried to elicit from him the kind of relationship between Kui Lu and that elegant Clan Leader from Black and White Path... this fellow clearly understood Hill enjoys watching the spectacle.

This time, Hill was determined to give them a harsh lesson... definitely won’t let them off too easily.

Yet... sometimes, one must concede, life is ever full of compromises.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ even showed him a video of Kui Lu under the moon, dancing tap dance, clad in special costumes of their Dark Maiden sect, around ’Mobi Chenxin’!

In the end, Hill still... made a slight concession, telling him three months turned into eighty days.

Not because of the costume, but because he sensed how painful William truly felt... Pixelating wasn’t such an easy task, after all, Kui Lu was a renowned dancer, with varied poses and nimble movements.

He could tell that the Path of Destiny couldn’t be sustained for long... even though AO was exerting all efforts to conceal some key people, it was like a shaky broken lid on a pot, ready to collapse.

Hill believed he would surely have enough time to restock.

Though just ten days less, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was quite satisfied.

Anyway, to him, that Strange Objects Shop was just a place to gauge how many rich women there are in the game... even if there’s a new girlfriend, he wouldn’t expend such a great cost, right?

Having long been accustomed to being dumped frequently, Snow Old Dog seldom lavishly spent on a new companion as he used to, it’s all sunk capital... However, recently, there seems to be a growing tendency to reverse.

Old Dog is still maintaining some restraint for now, yet... his teeth seem to become increasingly susceptible.

Were it not for being almost overwhelmed with work, while those inside and outside his family conspire to invade, he wouldn’t have come to waste this time.

When reunited after a long separation, no matter how much teasing goes overboard, with Hill’s temperament, it would at most come to a great storm.

At this stage... ’Snow Cloud Peak’ is quite aware, didn’t feel the Undead Tribe should have long been gone, all thanks to Hill being beautiful at heart and kind.

These people just don’t understand, it’s not that a tiger’s butt isn’t touchable, but... it must be at the right time, correct?

Therefore, for ’Snow Cloud Peak’, a response that can make those wealthy women waiting on him temporarily compromise is enough... he’s already done his utmost to strive for a bit back for everyone, what more could they want?

Then he asked Hill to help find an appropriate place to meet with the Seven Sisters... what he needed was secrecy, not safety.

Not dying, nor locked away, is the greatest advantage for the Undead Tribes on Toril... the Toril people may wish to scheme against these Otherworld elves, but soon they realize, they’re likely dealing with not just mere mortals, but many powerful Deities behind them.

Indeed, many on Toril dare to plot against gods, but... it also depends if they can encounter them!

When the Magicplague began, the Undead Tribe rarely encountered sudden adventure quests anymore... Many people found this quite regrettable.

Therefore, their negotiations were ultimately arranged to take place within the internal space of a banyan tree at the border of Agleya.

Although Hill didn’t stay there the entire time, List heard everything from start to finish.

The Northern Seven Sisters were somewhat at a loss regarding the current situation, but there was one thing they could be certain of... It seemed like those Archmages from Harua had some collusion with the God of Prophecy, Safras.

Harua seemed aware long before Mystra’s downfall.

While Midnight indeed had many issues, Elaströ and the others would often keep things from this impulsive Goddess of Magic... but it certainly didn’t include major events like the goddess facing a life-or-death crisis!

They understood what shared glory and shared adversity meant.

Yet, the fate of Black Eye, Black Eye’s death, and... Midnight’s rise, which didn’t quite fit a deity’s status, seemed to spark many people’s ambitions.

And then there’s Azuth; many archmages, old enough to be torn between the path of the lich and accepting death peacefully, saw him not as his past glorious achievements but as—why not me?

However, as descendants of the former Goddess of Magic, Elaströ and her sisters absolutely did not want another change of the Goddess of Magic... Midnight indeed had many shortcomings, but as long as you didn’t oppose her openly, she wouldn’t completely overthrow and trample everything about Black Eye.

Unless Black Eye could resurrect, if they were to change to another Goddess of Magic... their status would likely worsen.

Hence, they hoped the Undead Tribe could send these Quel Senta ladies, along with that Manks, to the Border Kingdom.

Although separated by the countries of Shaya and Laparia, the Border Kingdom, always full of chaos and thieves, was essentially backed by Harua.

Even though Shaya and Laparia were separated from Harua by the towering North Bi Mountain Range, with virtually no exchanges, the expanding Thieves’ Desolation between them proved their helplessness and sorrow.

Normally, a place rife with thieves should have no lack of trading centers, yet the Thieves’ Desolation seemed different... Evil individuals could immediately enjoy a life of revelry upon entering, yet there wasn’t even a single auction house.

However, the coastal Border Kingdom, despite having few merchant ships, boasted more grand auction houses than Kalinsan and Deepwater City combined.

Harua’s creation of a Manks brought many surprises to the Seven Sisters!

Anyway, their world was already in its current state; the Seven Sisters thought over and over that the best way to repay them was to send Harua some interest... those Quel Senta ladies.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ initially disagreed; his character wouldn’t allow him to use the lives of a few innocent ladies, even in a game... but Elaströ directly suggested he ask them himself.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ complied.

But he actually had guessed the inevitable outcome.

If those ladies had no ambition and ensured they didn’t leave the protection range of the Undead Tribe, they wouldn’t face any danger.

This was something that Snow Old Dog could still guarantee.

However, if they truly wished to live such sheltered lives, they wouldn’t have accepted Mystra’s Soul Shards to begin with.

Even the few who could calmly resist Anmur’s temptations didn’t hesitate to choose to go when tested by the Undead Tribe with ’How about checking out the grandest auction on Ferun Great Land in the Border Kingdom?’

Perhaps they believed Harua had closer ties to the Weave?

’Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t understand either.

But he could be sure: even if Harua’s attention was attracted, it would only focus on the lady taken away by Anmur’s archmages.

Nonetheless, although Snow Old Dog would offer advice with a conscience, he’d never impose.

In the end, all that made him hesitate was whom to send to escort them to the Border Kingdom.

Hill couldn’t help but chuckle... Now, the wise Harua Archmages had three choices available.

It all came down to whether they were more concerned about Cyric, those Evil Mages, or the Anmur Navy.

”Speaking of which, who’s backing the Anmur Navy?” Hill curiously asked, ”Surely it’s not Valkin?”

”Valkin and Heim actually have a pretty good relationship.” Celene thought for a few seconds before responding lightly, ”So no matter how well you treat Heim’s followers, they won’t be grateful to you.”

Hill blinked... This is about the two incidents in Neverwinter and Luskan, right?

”To me, the Temple of Heim is merely an appendage to Tyr’s, given how the Silver Shield Knights always brought them along at the time.” He couldn’t help but laugh, ”Whether they come or go, it doesn’t affect me at all.”
