Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1302: Chapter 1093: Anmur Driven to Madness

Wezlum’s gigantic head stretched above ‘Snow Cloud Peak’: “Ah? Is it really that surprising?

But I thought you Teraxil Elves already knew we were two dragons!

Hiding in the sea, we could hear them talking about how the scales on our claws were different!

Since you all know, there’s no need to keep it a secret.

As long as the passing pirates don’t know… After all, very few dare to come to a place with two dragons, it’s not profitable for them.

This is something I actually trust about you Agleya’s people, which pirate would dare come your way.

Although the Lord of Agleya allows them to stay in his port inns… But aren’t you always tracking those who glow with black light?

Isn’t there a bounty on them all…”

“Hehe~” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ quickly interrupted the black dragon’s monologue, “Wezlum, if you ally with us against the Anmur navy, your place won’t be safe anymore, right?

The Moonshadow Archipelago, for the sake of exporting their crops, won’t possibly block those Anmur dragon slayers.

After all, you are evil black dragons, they have plenty of excuses.”

“What a joke?” Wezlum tilted his head and said, “Once the mining is done, of course, we’d leave!

We already have our eyes on a nice place, it’s just that before we didn’t dare to move because the Lord of Agleya was too fierce.”

He implied suggestively: “Isn’t Neverwinter gone now!

We black dragons, compared to the cold seawater, prefer warm swamps.

Like those swamps with a bit of an acidic taste after a volcanic eruption, they make us ecstatic!

As long as we don’t attack the legitimate trading ships, the Lord of Agleya shouldn’t care about us… leading an evil life with a righteous heart, let’s get rid of the burning, killing, plundering pirates and also earn some living expenses, right?”

“Are there any pirates near Agleya?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ said in confusion, “Do you plan to fly south for a few days?”

The black dragon’s flying speed… isn’t that something that’s ridiculed long-term?

“Eh? Tasding’s job, can’t we black dragons do it?” Wezlum asked in great surprise, “Stronger than that little guy, Urzur and I are, right?

Moreover, we have distribution maps of all the pirates on the Sea of Radiance… If it weren’t for rushing to escape Dragon Madness, we would have feasted and then left.

If it weren’t for the Mithril Mine, we would have boarded your ship long ago!

Eh heh heh~ the days of having a ship to sit on, just thinking about it is truly delightful!”

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ forcibly pressed down the corners of his mouth with his hand… weren’t black dragons supposed to be hot-tempered, cunning?

The dragon in front of him only seemed to display something called cunning.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ sighed: “Hill never cares who his neighbors are, just as long as they don’t provoke him.

The real problem is us Teraxil Elves.

As long as you reach an agreement with us, it won’t be an issue in the future.

But… if you live by Neverwinter Forest, with a mountain’s worth of white dragons next door, laughing and making noise every day, won’t it be a problem?

I thought… black dragons like peace and quiet.”

“Ah… we don’t dislike distant noise.” Wezlum grinned, “You should notice, we brothers are a bit different from other black dragons.

The underwater cave is soundproof, noise from the mountains thousands of meters away and the sky won’t disturb our sleep.

And… when we go out to bask in the sun, we are glad to hear the cheers and screams of the hatchlings, it gives us a feeling of being alive.

What could make black dragons born from the same egg not kill each other but choose to rely on each other? Surely something even Tiamat can’t accept in all its cruelty.”

He spoke lightly, but his tone was chilling.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’s eyelashes trembled slightly… these two black dragons like to intercept and kill pirates, it seems there’s a reason.

The greed of dragons, the Undead Tribe who’s been in contact with white dragons for years, of course, knows well… black dragons are bound to be more formidable than white dragons, after all unlike white dragons who know from a young age that not retreating means death.

Tiamat is indeed a nuisance, but there are no signs of the Magicplague ending… the two dragons could easily wait until then to escape with their loot.

However, Wezlum almost immediately cozied up as soon as the Undead Tribe showed any sign of cooperation with them… so, is their target Anmur?

Speaking of which, this ancient dragon’s scales have become very thick and massive, almost a thousand years old, quite matching the time Anmur was founded.

But… at that time, the stronger bandit groups all came from Santir Fortress.

“So… Anmur or Santalin?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ asked softly.

“Ah! No difference.” Wezlum bared his teeth, the sharp points gleaming in the sunlight, “After the Santalin Meeting dissolved, many bandits transformed into Anmur’s navy, and when no one was paying attention, they turned back into pirates.

Still, at least half of them died at your hands, and the rest all headed to the Sea of Radiance.

Anmur loves intercepting merchant ships from other continents there unless they have a trade flag with them.”

“The Anmur People, aside from Valkin and Heim, aren’t they most openly aligned with Evil Forces that believe in Cyric? Why do I have a feeling they have some collusion with Bane? Abandon the Dark Sun… choose Bane?

Between Bane’s followers and Kranvo’s followers, Cyric’s first reaction is always to take out Bane’s people!

Are they really trying to appreciate the Prince of Lies’ style?

Did Bane not give up on the Path of Destiny?” Edna turned her head seriously to ask Nasir.

“That was because he did not act himself.” Nasir replied, “An ally like Anmur is not in his jurisdiction.

With Bane’s temperament, if someone like Anmur secretly uses his followers for their own ends, he would simply watch them court death.”

Edna thought for a moment before understanding Nasir’s meaning: “Anmur is crazy?”

“Hmm… in a place like theirs with fierce internal struggle, they never care about offending outsiders.” Nasir said indifferently, “After all, if they offend someone, it’s no matter, as the entire Anmur will bear it; if they can make their own internal enemies unhappy, they will be very pleased. After all, if everyone is to die together, as long as they gain the most benefit before death, that’s what matters.”

“Strange logic.” Edna shook her head, somewhat unable to comprehend.

However, the Undead Tribe understood… Politics, whilst most cannot make heads or tails of it, always has many channels through which understanding can be gained.

Who doesn’t have a bit of a political heart? The farther away and harder to understand something is, the more joy there is in discussion.

Given that they have common enemies, and these two Black Dragons prefer Anmur to perish more than the Undead Tribe, ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ unreservedly began commanding this dragon to take action.

“Why didn’t he ask about the Mithril reserves?” Elvia couldn’t help but loudly ask.

“As soon as the Black Dragon appeared, he asked.” The ‘Old Age Striking King’ said with a smile, “That Black Dragon answered in response to Lansendel’s Holy Emblem.

Otherwise, do you think the Old Dog would let him on the ship so easily?”

“How much?” Elvia asked anxiously.

“Hmm… The Black Dragon estimated about 600 pounds, possibly a bit more, beyond what we can handle.” The ‘Old Age Striking King’ tilted his head to look at the worried White Dragon, “The Old Dog has already notified several Major Temples to send people to Snowfall Island.

Best you just watch the show quietly!

Unless you’re planning to stop following Edna and go mining by yourself.”

Elvia rolled her eyes, covering her head heavily with her wings, deciding to take a nap… hopefully waking up at the best time to land on the island and pick up treasure.

“Old Dog, the Anmur Navy saw the Little Whale and attacked without a second thought!” an Undead Tribe member rushed over, “Terry is already engaging them, and Tasding just charged in.”

“They even want to fight Terry and Tasding?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ blinked rapidly.

“Yes!”

“Then… Wezlum, do you want to go take the first few hits?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ asked the Black Dragon with a smile, “We will send the whole army in three minutes.”

Wezlum stomped heavily on the deck, flying off towards the action without hesitation… Though the Giant Dragon’s speed was said to be slow, it didn’t mean he was truly sluggish.

The Black Dragon knew that the elves from another world were still somewhat wary of him, after all, he didn’t have the kind of face to join an entire clan and be able to sign a partner contract… Just the name of Elvia Tulais after this incident is known even to dragons like Aber.

But Wezlum didn’t think there was any problem, nor did he find anything to ridicule in her fall… Instead, he was quite envious of those young dragons receiving protection.

Perhaps it’s because he and his brothers had bad luck, having a dragon mother who liked to experiment with their own Dragon Eggs?

Wezlum grinned at the sight of the dozens of dreadnoughts opening fire on the two Little Dragons and a Little Whale: Endless acid cascaded down from his fluid flying motion.

The two Metal Dragons, equipped with dozens of buffs, were quickly kicked out of the battle by the Black Dragon, relegated to the secondary line… serving as wingmen.

This Black Dragon’s fighting strength was truly formidable, and his combat style belonged to a very ferocious kind… Perhaps because he was used to having brothers backing him up, Wezlum didn’t, like most Black Dragons, prefer to hit and then duck into the water, waiting for the enemy to be distracted before ambushing.

He would even use his razor-sharp wing tips to sever the sails on the warships, and his powerful tail was always ready to smash down those masts.

But the Anmur Navy did indeed have plenty of ships… and the Magic Cannon was quite dangerous, leaving the Black Dragon with some injuries.

Terry unhesitatingly cast a Blessing Spell on the Black Dragon.

Seeing the scorch marks appear on the Black Dragon scales, Terry even thought the firepower was stronger than some Elven Dreadnoughts… Just how much did Anmur get from the Imasca ruins?

Why had there never been any news of those ruins being excavated? Could it be they dug up from below ground?
