Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1323: Chapter 1114: The Origins of the Black Death Brothers

Of course, Thorne understood who the true master behind this strange situation was.

Shaer and Celene, including Lansendel, almost never leave the floating castle of Agleya. Is it really because Hill behaves adorably and enthusiastically?

Given his understanding of the Lord of Agleya, it’s likely he wished those fellows to hurry up and scram!

The reason he could laugh was because he was confident and didn’t fear trouble.

Of course, these guys couldn’t leave, AO couldn’t undermine Teraxil, so he had to create some small troubles for them.

This time, however, these deities were able to come together to Snowfall Island for something as minor as signing an alliance pact.

Tsk~

He turned his head to look at the magic ship moored by a coral reef in the southeast corner… Those female mages from Quel Senta were on that ship.

As for the other, Manks, the carrier of Mistra’s soul shard, he quickly left for Anmur when they arrived at Snowfall Island.

There was also some Great Nobility and a female mage who were said to be hiding in the Mithril Cave, waiting for the Anmur Navy to rescue them. They also quickly left by some means before they arrived.

Thorne shook his head… Hiding in the cave, yet still so well-informed; they must have been constantly using vampire bats to scout the outside world.

As someone who has dealt with the Undead Tribe for many years, Thorne understood well that with a place as vast as Snowfall Island and its surroundings, wanting millions of undead to overlook such obvious enemies was simply laughable!

So these people must have been released by the undead tribe itself.

Heh~ Anmur hasn’t even started the battle, yet who knows whether these related deities have already divided the territories… Without sufficient benefits, it’s not so easy for the undead tribe to let an enemy right in front of them go.

Thorne couldn’t help but clasp his hands together, gazing into the distance in a trance… He recalled the days of battling alongside Heim’s followers and gently closed his eyes.

Although those with different paths have different journeys, Tyr Temple and Heim Temple chose to separate due to Neverwinter’s temptation, but he truly hoped that those former comrades wouldn’t make foolish decisions to protect the slave masters anymore.

Anmur’s end has arrived, and as the main combat force, the Undead Tribe is not the primitive tribe of Maztika anymore.

Even if Heim conjures another Divine Descent this time, who can he oppose?

Even if Tyr overlooks some past matters and lets him be, there’s still Shaer!

Most importantly… Thorne glanced lightly in the direction of Anmur. Would Heim, reputedly most obedient to AO, dare defy the will of the God Above Gods to rush down and save his followers?

With a faintly mocking smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, Thorne walked lightly toward his waiting knight corps members… Ever since he killed the former Mystra, Heim was no longer the Heim of the past.

“Edna.” Lynn gently called out, “I’m going back to Agleya. Are you planning to return to Ningbrol Island?”

“Mm.” Edna glanced at Lynn, whose expression remained unchanged, and smiled slightly, pondering inwardly when he actually discovered her identity.

Just now when they signed the contract, the entire hall was sealed, and those spectators outside were certainly unaware, but she didn’t think Lynn would not understand what was going on.

“Before you leave, remember to take Arausato away.” Lynn didn’t mind being scrutinized by the young lady, just gently reminded, “Although Mithril is hard to mine, it doesn’t require such strong workers.”

Edna immediately came back to her senses, her lips twitching slightly… So Arausato was now holding onto the Mithril Cave and refusing to leave?

With a bit of a headache, she frowned slightly: “How should I put it? It’s Mithril! Should I tell Arausato that Black Dragon can mine it, but White Dragon cannot?”

“You can give a share to the White Dragon from your portion, I have no objection.” Lynn didn’t care about her petty schemes, just said blandly, “But as for mining, Arausato can’t do it, whereas adult White Dragons can.

After all, they don’t have the ability to cause trouble in the cave!

Unless Arausato and his kind can ensure there’s no conflict underground.

Edna, who can achieve that?

You also know what price the Black Dragon Brothers paid, and if Arausato can tolerate wearing that surveillance equipment on his neck all the time, I would have nothing to say.

But for them, it’s meaningless, isn’t it? Or does Arausato think he can oppose any of the Chosen?

I can understand your decision to fight for your friend’s benefits, but you must recognize it’s not just Agleya’s affair.

What Hill overlooks, others care about.

And you’re not yet at a stage where you can call the shots, as for what happens in the future, well, we can only look forward to that.”

Edna pursed her lips and nodded lightly: “I understand. I’ll have Arausato and them return to take up some tasks from the Undead Tribe.”

“Soon war will be declared on Anmur. They certainly have places to make money.” Lynn eased his tone a bit, “Although the idea of securing benefits for your own people isn’t wrong, you must ensure you have the right measure.

“Before deciding to tear up an alliance, one must ensure respect stays above the baseline.”

Edna tilted her head and smiled: “Yes, I understand. Even in the future, we must consider the relationships between allies.

My White Dragon friend should also be placed in a suitable spot; there’s no need to test their sanity.”

She sighed lightly in her heart… wanting to differentiate from Midnight, she might have tried too hard.

Fortunately, Lynn doesn’t treat her any differently now because of fear for her future; he still regards her as a Government Official of Hidden Town… Sometimes, saying nothing is instead a sign of distance.

After bidding farewell to Lynn, Edna stepped forward to approach the two Black Dragons who finally dared to reveal their heads.

Urzur, who had been relatively silent, was much more spirited now: “Can we move now?”

Edna was puzzled: “Aren’t you supposed to oversee the Mithril Cave here?”

“We usually just send one worker, while the other handles the move. Typically, we can switch roles and focus on constructing our home,” Wezlum said cheerily. “Ah~ a warm and eternal home~ that’s the sincerest dream of any wanderer~”

“That would depend on Agleya City’s continued existence, wouldn’t it?” Elvia interjected with a mocking tone. “Heh~ you both are quite wealthy. Once you lose your backing, you’re doomed… Tiamat would probably be your biggest headache.”

“Hmm?” Wezlum replied nonchalantly, “Agleya, such a powerful force, could surely exist on the Ferun Great Land for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years?

By then, if we brothers aren’t dead, who would we still fear?”

Tiamat is indeed notoriously greedy, but she’s not completely devoid of reason; at least she wouldn’t strike against truly powerful Chromatic Dragons.

At most, she might resort to thievery.

It all depends on whether they have the capability to protect their treasure trove!

Elvia snorted a few times… Her dissatisfaction wasn’t directed at the Mithril in these two Black Dragons’ hands, but rather because they latched onto Edna’s coattails before Arausato could.

So she wanted to intimidate these two while Edna’s identity was still under wraps.

She rolled unhappily on the ground, intent on discussing with Arausato soon to finalize the contract early… before Edna could collect all the Chromatic Dragons, while Arausato is still hesitating, resulting in an early start but late arrival, which would certainly make him a laughingstock!

Elvia never liked reasoning, so at this moment she didn’t care at all that the Black Dragon brothers were actually registered under Hidden Town’s honorary dragons.

After all, for a Dragon, as long as she perceives loss, it is a loss.

Reason? What a ridiculous thing.

The Black Death brothers did not mind the White Dragon’s little schemes, cheerfully bidding farewell to Edna, preparing to return to their lair to pack… They had no intention of dwelling on any particularities that might arise during contract signing.

Not meddling in others’ business, especially those of other deities, has been their good habit since they were Little Dragons.

As she watched the two Giant Dragons vanish from the sea, Edna glanced at Leonard and a few others entering through the door that had just been unlocked, and asked Elvia, “I notice you treat these two Black Dragons quite well.”

Just verbally picky, with no action at all; for the White Dragon Queen, that indeed signifies immense goodwill!

“Ah… upon guessing whose offspring they were, I had mixed feelings.” Elvia sat up, speaking with a slightly serious tone, “Although we White Dragons aren’t adept at raising children, honestly… it’s also due to the harsh living conditions for White Dragons.

Many White Dragon Mothers lacking sufficient Intelligence can only, like beasts, choose to raise the strongest child, otherwise, they themselves would starve to death.

After providing them with ample living space, most White Dragon mothers no longer abandoned their children.

But the mother of this pair of twins, residing by Lake Ammesmiel in Anmur, once revered as the Black Dragon Queen Gulgar, actively cooperated with Evil Mages, even offering her Dragon Eggs for experiments.

It’s said they were used to merge with many creatures’ embryos; the Bog Hag is one of her creations.

Truly cruel beyond Tiamat’s imagination!

And those experiments initially aimed to let her Dragon Eggs absorb the essence of other types of Dragon Eggs.

Hm, it’s understandable why these brothers don’t quite resemble Black Dragons. Considering their adaptation to seawater, perhaps they’ve merged with Aquatic Dragons?

Those dragons enjoy using wings and claws to strike ship hulls.

Although Gulgar herself, before Anmur’s founding, was killed along with her partners by Anmur’s Archmage due to her cooperation with Sorcerers… that being said, she’s surely dead. That creature was known for her laziness and greed, and she wouldn’t tolerate forces stronger than her around.

Anmur certainly had to eliminate her to achieve national unity.

But whether those Sorcerers are dead remains uncertain.

Judging by the two brothers’ hatred towards Anmur, it seems quite a few were hidden away by Anmur.”
