Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1326: Chapter 1117: Edna Has Grown Stronger Again

Edna’s little thoughts, Hill could more or less discern them; she truly saw herself as the future mayor of Hidden Town at all times.

She was likely planning to leave this town to Edna, rather than Mystra.

But she clearly did not intend to inherit the name of Midnight… Besides, Midnight did not have a sanctuary of her own; those Mystra sanctuaries in places like Harua came from Black Eye, didn’t they?

In terms of something that truly belonged to Midnight, there was only a small monastery, built by Aiden, a former comrade who was doing good deeds in a chaotic land; he alone sincerely worshipped Midnight Mistrala.

Unfortunately, that was the friendship of past comrades. Even though Aiden was Midnight’s first priest, the differences between this small sanctuary and a true Mystra sanctuary were evident.

Edna probably wanted to cut ties with the past… She was willing to inherit the name Mystra, but she likely intended to leave those chaotic subordinates aside for now.

Then she would establish her own new sanctuary, and among those followers, find some worthy of being entrusted with important responsibilities, who would truly be her own priests.

Edna’s temperament was much more resilient than Midnight’s… Had Midnight not originally, to protect the followers of the Goddess of Magic on Toril from being mysteriously killed by Black Eye, completely inherited everything from Black Eye, many things would not have been so challenging.

Midnight’s most awkward point was here… From that day onwards, she was constantly repaying the love she had generously spread when she took over as the Goddess of Magic.

Yet she did not have enough strength of character and endurance to bear such a heavy debt.

In Edna’s case, she definitely wouldn’t act that way; she would calmly choose the part she could bear to inherit, and the rest, even if it led to some turmoil, she would apologize and then discard it.

After all, if the disaster’s consequences weren’t caused by her mistake, she would never bear a responsibility she was certainly incapable of handling.

The Undead Tribe and Elves truly taught her well.

Thus, Hill was also willing to satisfy this young lady’s fondness for fantasy and romance… Hill certainly knew the style she liked; although there was only one set of starlight worth 500,000, Edna had bought plenty of other small jewelry.

Also, possibly because both the Mithril Elves and the Undead Tribe came from outside Toril, Edna truly liked the twinkling of stars.

Hill contemplated for a while, then finally decided to design the Crystal Castle with dreamy pink and purple as the main colors… The prototype of the castle brought by the Undead Tribe closely resembled the Sleeping Beauty Castle by the Seine Riverside.

Thus, Hill didn’t need to think much, as in terms of fiberglass, he was certainly not lacking.

He could blend pink or blue aurora colored steel with mithril in proportion to form a natural pink or purple.

After all, even with magic assistance, no coating could survive millennia in endless moisture, so Hill could only consider the natural colors of materials.

Though the divine power of the Goddess of Magic could create all kinds of miracles, Hill did not wish for his work to rely on the strength of others to exist.

In this moment, he forgot the three curious and observing deities around him, and also forgot the imminent Battle of Anmur, devoting himself wholeheartedly to constructing the Cloud Castle.

As for the price~

The reason the ‘Old Age Striking King’ dared to place such a grand order was naturally because Edna had the distribution rights of Mithril!

Of course, Hill couldn’t use things that were too expensive; he still maintained his rationality… The energy line could be extended to the top, but the material line definitely could not.

Using fiberglass and aurora colored steel, such high-level materials to build a castle was definitely no problem, but if he were to actually build walls entirely of mithril, with mithril gates… that would be too much bullying.

Moreover, even the Puzzle Lock, stronger than Bemis Zuno, couldn’t withstand all the giant dragons of Toril going mad, right?

When Edna arrived at Agleya Port in the early hours of the second day, she couldn’t help but glance around for a while.

However, besides hurriedly taking from her hands the Ningbrow Astrolabe, which had been shrunk to the size of a chessboard, she could only see the white clouds peeking out from the top of the Floating Castle.

That cloud, just as the ‘Old Age Striking King’ described, was breathtakingly beautiful and dreamlike: entirely white at the bottom, but occasionally, streaks of purple light would flash within the clouds.

Above the cloud layer, the clouds were of an extremely light purple, and in the morning sun, within the semi-transparent pink veil, seemed to rise strands of purple smoke.

She couldn’t see the castle in the middle yet, but this piece of beautiful cloud and mist was enough to fulfill all her fantasies.

Returning to the port inn, Edna was somewhat surprised.

She had always thought, after the Battle of Snowfall Island, that Blue Dragon, who loved music and dearly cherished Singing Dragons, would choose to go home, especially with Tiamat and Bahamut appearing together!

Tiamat was sent back by Shaer anyway.

But Bahamut was still lingering on the Ferun Great Land!

AO, for some reason, had never sent that Platinum Dragon out of Toril.

But Edna didn’t think Tiamat needed to be jealous, every exception from that God Above Gods was never a good thing.

Though she left first and embarrassed herself, at least she wouldn’t be used as a tool dragon by AO.

Bahamut surely had enormous psychological pressure now.

If he were to flee now without a fight, it would be hard for him to save face… others hadn’t even reached out yet!

The Nine-Faced Dragon God probably wouldn’t appreciate him being so cowardly either.

Yet not knowing when, or from where, a major problem might appear just made one’s heart tingle.

Even if she wasn’t bearing such pressure, just imagining it made Edna squint her eyes and smile in her heart.

Right now, she loves seeing these guys get unlucky; if they lose some face, even better.

Edna touched her adventure journal, which from initially planning to record travel memories, had basically turned into a collection of embarrassing moments of the Toril Deities.

She even let neither Talos nor Ambori escape.

Bit by bit, sand into a tower, enough to support her in every future meeting of the Pantheon, living on with a smiling face!

The Black Rose’s Undead Tribe, after confirming with Lynn that it was fine to come back to pick up Edna in three days, straightforwardly launched three Magic Ships, heading directly for Anmur.

Pirates, even the official Anmur pirates, come with a bounty.

Otherwise, they would be called official traders.

No crime… robbing others’ merchant ships, killing a few, indulging in some revelry, how else do you qualify as a pirate?

And on Agleya City’s bulletin board, as long as it’s an official country’s wanted notice, it’s always posted neatly, never torn down due to some subtle hint.

Hill has always provided high subsidies to their own, and Marsha’s monitoring has always been comprehensive.

Besides, the Just Knights patrolling Agleya and the Elf City Guards who once regarded themselves as Crusaders aren’t swayed by small change.

And the wealth truly tempting them… who would be willing to give it to pirates?

Those really sent out to be pirates, regardless of the flattering words behind their mission, can’t escape the label of ‘disposable’.

Like tissues that can be thrown away at any time, better if used; even if not, there’s nothing to regret about them.

Even the stingiest person wouldn’t fly into a rage over a piece of lost tissue.

Though the Undead Tribe always behaves wealthy, they are always enthusiastic about profitable missions… even if achieving the task costs far more than the reward.

But to them, the cost within missions is never about money.

For instance, obviously, one ship suffices, yet the Black Rose insists on using three, consuming the energy of three Crystal Stones.

Edna knows she’ll never understand this style of the Undead Tribe, but she’s used to it, so during the rare three-day rest, she stayed in her room, carefully organizing her recent gains.

The puzzle has also made significant progress.

By the time Lynn knocked on her door to inform her that she could receive the Cloud House beneath the Floating Castle, she was already nearing the Ninth Ring… she had quietly passed Level 17 the first night.

Seeing Edna open the door, Lynn couldn’t help but be startled.

The magic power surging from her was so obvious that anyone seeing her could tell she was on the verge of advancing.

“Uh…” Lynn hesitated, then slowly asked, “Where’s Elvia?”

“In White Dragon Mountain.” Edna tilted her head, “Want to come in?”

“Can I?”

“Of course, we’re future colleagues after all!”

Lynn’s mouth involuntarily twitched a few times; this future Goddess of Magic seemed very attached to her Mayor position.

But he could only obediently enter the room… with Edna like this, she couldn’t flaunt it downstairs. “Have Elvia take you directly to the Floating Castle. I’ll let Marsha know.”

“Aren’t I supposed to go down to meet?”

“In your current state, better to keep a low profile!” Lynn sighed, “News from Anmur tells that Miss Manks just advanced to the Sixth Ring.”

“Hmm?” Edna turned around from the window, curious, “What’s she planning?”

“Probably because the one Anmur took away is Sixth Ring.” Lynn said nonchalantly, “So things are quite lively over there; best if we don’t stir up anything to divert attention.”

Edna lightly pointed her slender index finger at her nose, “Me? I just got a New Artifact!

As a descendant of Black Eye, it’s only natural I have this ability, right?”

“You wish for us to announce that your other lineage comes from Black Eye?” Lynn quickly caught on.

“Isn’t it normal for children of Mystra and Azuth to have such abilities?” Edna said expressionlessly.

“But… that one from Quel Senta…”

Edna, without blinking, said, “Him? He was already an Extraordinary Mage when he went on his coming-of-age journey.

How much worse am I? I don’t lack Black Eye’s teachings either.”

Lynn laughed, “Ah, that fragment, is it?”

Edna found his tone a bit odd.
