Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1324: Chapter 1115: William’s Little Suggestion

Edna had lost interest in how Anmur constantly seemed to court death, but she had a feeling that the Undead Tribe, or rather the William behind them, was very interested in these things.

William is indeed a righteous deity, but he’s hardly so friendly towards the Black Dragon Brothers of Toril... innate evil is sometimes actually a very useful trait.

Even the so-called benevolent Midnight would at most drive away these Black Dragon Brothers, not kill them.

Even Tyr might be slightly better than Midnight, but not by much.

Even the Black Dragons themselves had little room to struggle, given that they’re part of the Evil Faction and lack the strength to resist.

So Edna wasn’t surprised at the choices made by the Black Dragon Brothers, only finding them to be exceptionally shrewd dragons.

Her Elvia probably couldn’t make such decisive decisions... there were so many benefits that even clouded the eyes of the White Dragon Queen.

Yet, the Black Dragon Brothers could unhesitatingly choose to abandon part of their interests, quickly hugging the thigh of Agleya City, which was inexplicably friendly to them.

So she readily accepted the brothers.

Honestly, although the Chromatic Dragons are really greedy and stingy, Edna felt that as long as they could communicate normally with her, it was all manageable... at least easier to understand than the humans and deities around Midnight.

Moreover, a refusal is a refusal, acceptance is acceptance; they wouldn’t convey rejection with an accepting attitude... that aspect was truly a headache.

Why must powerful divine beings play guessing games?

The pride and arrogance resulted in her retreating into self-seclusion within her soul!

Edna smiled as she gazed at the distant sea... then suddenly, the Demon Cult Great Ship dashed into her sight, bringing her mind back to clarity.

She exhaled a long breath and turned to call out to Elvia, ”Could you talk to Arausato? Then we can head straight to Ningbrol Island.

Earlier when Lynn was around, I was too embarrassed to ask, but would you be willing to take Arausato to Ningbrol Island with you?”

”Certainly not!” Elvia replied without hesitation, ”That’s all mine!”

Edna nodded unconcernedly, ”I also thought you might not agree. Then, can you ask the Temporal Artifact if there’s any task that could be given to Arausato and the others to keep them busy?

Preferably to ask them to vacate the Mithril Cave in a decent manner, right?

But make it clear to them that in the future, the Night Cloak and Silver Saintess will absolutely frequent this place... unlike those two Black Dragons, whose names appeared on the covenant.

Without the permission and protection of powerful divine forces, if something happens, I won’t be able to save anyone.”

What does the Silver Knight count for, the Celene Church’s most terrifying aspect is those Bishop Level so-called Saintesses, who in pursuit of Celene’s favor... would travel the starry sky with her, souls flying around the moon, feeling the Goddess’ most tender inquiries... they are capable of anything.

Most people on Toril wouldn’t believe that Shaer and Celene’s peace mode could last long, most might assume it’s a fleeting moment thanks to the Magicplague period.

When it ends, those two would resume their fight even if there are future collaborations, strife is inevitable.

Though on Snowfall Island, the Divine Artifact could ensure their conflicts won’t escalate to an irreconcilable extent, small squabbles will undoubtedly play out daily.

The names etched on the covenant belong to Just Knights, who may dig for mines or patrol streets, should be fine; a White Dragon doesn’t have such luck.

Elvia hesitated for a few seconds, then immediately sprinted towards the glowing Temporal Artifact in the hall... straightforwardly using her large body to push aside several rows of surrounding Undead Tribes.

Only then did a few who had been standing aside observing the New Artifact gradually come over.

”I’ve long known the emotions of giant dragons are mystifying, but...” remarked the ’Old Age Striking King’ tilting his head, unable to offer any evaluation even after pondering for a while, ”Elvia and Arausato are clearly capable of going through hell and high water for each other...”

”Gold coins can be seized, but not given, regardless of who it is,” Leonard seemed quite familiar with the ecology of giant dragons, ”A dragon willing to impart a bit of wealth to its own offspring is already the most generous dragon parent in the world!”

”No wonder...” murmured the ’Old Age Striking King’ shaking his head, ”Dragons of any color always speaks of Terry being deeply cherished by his parents.

However, Terry always remains vigilant when mentioning his parents, wary of being robbed... so he must have received the epitome of parental love?”

”Huh? So what if it’s his son?

Gold coins he can’t protect are mine,” Elvia contentedly ambled back from the Temporal Artifact, ”If tender-hearted me can seize them, then who can’t?

Instead of letting them hand over to other dragons, why not just give it to me!”

”That’s a bit unscrupulous, Elvia,” Edna gave a faint reminder, ”what humans can’t understand, I can’t either.”

”Tsk,” the White Dragon Queen shook her head, ”give me two minutes, Arausato is easy to handle. There’s just a task at the Temporal Artifact to clear pirates around Anmur as well.”

”Ah, right,” uttered the ’Old Age Striking King’ without blinking, ”Since the Anmur Navy is in shambles, we might as well lend them a hand, preventing pirate overflow.”

Several Toril people couldn’t help but glance at the Female Priest... Where are there real pirates near Anmur?

But what could Anmur do about it?

Admit openly that those pirates were sent by them, formally wage war against the Undead Tribe, and then suffer a miserable defeat?

The only ones in the Toril World with the ability to engage in naval battles with the Undead Tribe are probably the Elf Empire Navy and the Shulong Empire Navy. A colonial upstart nation like Anmur doesn’t have that capability.

They don’t even have a flagship formidable enough to contend with a large Magic Ship of the Undead Tribe.

Anmur can’t resist the temptation of the Imasca Kingdom, probably related to these things... After several purges by the Mage Empire, how many high-level materials can Toril still leave for the Kingdom of Anmur?

They can only try to extract from the past.

Although Quel Senta is similarly constrained, these city-states don’t have as grand ambitions as the Kingdom of Anmur... Seeking to dominate on the Ferun Great Land, from the day Anmur had such thoughts, it was already on the brink of doom.

Even Naesreiel wasn’t this arrogant, and even Imasca never dreamed of ruling the entire Ferun Great Land!

What was Anmur thinking? Their plans to occupy Sword Bay and further develop the entire continent hadn’t even been implemented before most well-informed individuals became aware of it.

So, no one is surprised to see so many people with ulterior motives showing up on Anmur’s side—it’s inexplicable.

Isn’t that to be expected?

The first reaction of folks trying to stir things up on the Ferun Great Land is definitely towards this nation constantly preparing for war!

Sel also has many ambitious people willing to go there, but the prerequisite for going there is a bit troublesome—not everyone likes to shave their head.

As Elvia said, when Edna boarded the freshly repaired Magic Ship, the Black Rose again, less than 10 minutes had passed.

Arausato quickly made a wise choice between trouble and gold coin... and for a White Dragon that has survived to ancient times, they’re generally not foolish, so they followed Arausato to Cloud House for work.

However, Arausato took advantage of Edna not yet departing to sign a contract with her.

Not as binding as with Elvia, but much stronger than the Black Dragon Brothers, it could be considered one of the hardest types to dissolve within the Dragon Covenant.

Arausato is inherently laid-back, loves to slack off and sleep, not wanting to be like Elvia, who follows Edna constantly, always ready for battle.

Just the thought of it is exhausting, which is why this Ancient Dragon has always been a bit hesitant.

When Edna clearly expressed she doesn’t require his constant following, as long as he doesn’t trouble her, adheres to the rules of Agleya City, and preferably protects Hidden Town in the future, Arausato no longer delayed... Though Agleya’s numerous regulations are indeed annoying, compared to Tiamat’s favor, it’s child’s play!

Besides, sleeping never actually causes problems.

Edna agreed swiftly, because at this point, even if her identity wasn’t yet clear, Arausato surely understands this contract is essentially impossible to dissolve... between him and Edna, whose lifespan is longer is uncertain!

”Edna.” Before returning to Nibro Island, Edna was seriously approached by the ’Perfect Bald’ with seriousness. ”We’ve found that secret path, so our ship can directly dock over there.

However, William asked me to offer you a suggestion.”

Edna tilted her head and said earnestly, ”I will listen carefully.”

”Although Nibro Island is a good floating island, it doesn’t really mean much to you, right?” ’Perfect Bald’ asked inquisitively.

”Right, I won’t stay on this island.” Edna nodded, ”I originally wanted to leave it to Elvia’s children, but I’m also worried they might not be able to hold onto it. After all, it’s a New Artifact, can’t expect the Undead Tribe to guard this island forever, right?”

”We couldn’t possibly stay in such a boring place!” ’Perfect Bald’ said straightforwardly, ”Nibro Island can’t be located, our Temple can’t teleport, so staying here is quite miserable.

No one in the Undead Tribe would do this.”

He paused for a moment, awkwardly tugging his ponytail: ”Ah, am I speaking too bluntly?

But since we’re so familiar, no need to be so euphemistic.”

Edna laughed unconcernedly: ”Truth is truth! What’s wrong with being straightforward.”

”Hehe~” ’Perfect Bald’ grinned widely, ”So, William suggests you take the Ningbrow Astrolabe and then buy a Magic Ship capable of long aerial flight from Hill, or a prettier Cloud House would work too.

It has better mobility, and when the Toril World reopens, the Ningbrow Astrolabe can teleport you to every corner of the world.

However, it requires powerful strength for protection... but Edna surely has no problem.

That’s William’s exact words.

He hopes you consider it seriously.”
