Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 545: Chapter 344: Is the Horse Named Becky Male or Female?

Hill forced himself not to pay too much attention to what was happening over by the stables.

Without the presence of the legendary Undead Tribe, the multitude of others wouldn’t alarm the problematic horse; after all, their strength was insufficient, and they acted too obsequiously.

Moreover, when they fought among themselves, it was with genuine sincerity and absolutely no pretense.

If it really came to blows, it would be a bloody affair, with no mercy shown.

Apart from the bottom line of not taking lives, which no one dared cross, members of the Undead Tribe performed a very realistic competition play in front of these Magic Beast Horses.

Furthermore, every day they would bring different Magic Beast Horses before them, all high-level; what if one took a liking to them?

The Radiant Knights, who realized that the Magical System-based professionals of the Undead Tribe were sufficient for battle, gave up on paying attention and breaking up fights after several days.

They understood the mental unbalance caused by the Undead Knights’ inability to join the battle.

Since these Undead Tribe members didn’t resort to using their ultimate skills in fights, just mere punches and physical hits, it didn’t seem like a big deal to the knights.

And indeed, their horses truly enjoyed this matchmaking life with the attention of thousands.

The Radiant Knights Order then happily went off to enjoy life.

William had brought his Cooking Puppet along, and he generously opened his kitchen to the other Radiant Knights.

The Knights, accustomed to frugality, almost instantly fell in love with the vast kitchen of William’s Royal Palace and spent the majority of their time there every day.

Commander Mason had tried to maintain a spartan lifestyle, but with his own knights indulging, he couldn’t resist joining them for more than a day.

The high-level professionals in this world did not entertain the notion of asceticism.

That is a demand only associated with the Deities of faith, and the few in this world would only fear their followers being too composed, never advocating asceticism; the more their followers indulged in luxurious desires, the more they received God’s favor.

If it were a normal world, such deities would have long been judged problematic; however, the deities of this world almost seemed to arise with the world itself, and even the inherently eternal Sun God and Goddess of the Silvermoon hadn’t perceived any issues.

Until both of them perished alongside a Demon, they likely had not anticipated that not a single deity would come to their aid.

The complete fall of the Sun God was probably welcomed by every Evil God.

The Silvermoon, however, did not meet the same fate as the Sun God but was ultimately rescued.

Hill suspected this was to maintain the balance of the Moon Halo. The power of the Black Moon and Red Moon was visibly immense, and if that Goddess were to be completely gone, this world would birth a very powerful Moon Goddess leaning toward the Evil Faction.

The four Divine Kingdoms established around the Moon Halo were clearly not for protection, but for precaution.

If a chaotic and evil Moon Goddess were to emerge, she would undoubtedly not spare them, and even if the world was destroyed, such a deity would not have any regrets.

Moreover, the world ruled by Devils had created an Abyssal overlord; these Evil Gods and Devils probably feared turning into a laughingstock for the entirety of the nine layers of hell.

As for the Radiant Knights Order’s spartan lifestyle, it simply stemmed from poverty; they could not cooperate with any country, and naturally, they didn’t have many Gold Coins at hand.

No matter how many luxuries and entertainments this world had, they were unrelated to them.

Therefore, these past few days felt like they’d been caught in a whirlwind of delectable treats, stuffing their mouths with food even while walking down the streets.

Hill hoped that when the spy was caught, the unfortunate knight could suffer a little less amidst the wonderful routine of a foodie.

After all, it wasn’t they who were being ridden; perhaps the pain of being betrayed by colleagues could be diminished by the promise of a beautiful tomorrow.

However, Hill’s wishes might be dashed already, as he had begun to hear a great commotion, the dismal neighing of horses and the piercing screams of a woman intertwining in the night, truly the worst possible development.

The horse caught by the Undead Tribe had an owner whose identity seemed to be quite special.

When Hill walked out to see the disturbance, William had already swiftly appeared, restraining the tall horse draped in silver satin.

The large horse, bound by golden chains, still stubbornly struggled without any intention of attending to its owner, who was screaming at the top of her lungs.

The people of the Radiant Knights Order had already rushed over, as they had always paid close attention to the safety of the stables.

Both Mason and Aurthezia stepped forward, demanding an explanation.

”Perhaps, you might want to ask your mounts?” said ’Snow Cloud Peak,’ standing aside, ”His Majesty the King is here at my request. Whatever happened, these horses have witnessed it.

I think you should trust your own horses more than our words, right?”

”That’s my horse! Mine!” another Female Knight shouted loudly, ”No matter what happened, you shouldn’t have laid hands on my horse! Release her!”

”Soraya Steven.” Mason’s mount suddenly spoke up, ”That’s not a horse, it’s a person, a man to be precise. He used Advanced Transformative Magic. You’d better calm down a bit.”

Most of the several dozen horses in the stables couldn’t remain calm, with the majority crying, hitting the walls, and desperately scraping the ground with their front hooves.

Only the oldest and strongest one could maintain a calm state; he had no intention of letting the humans sort it out themselves and openly revealed the truth.

”Espario?” Steven asked stiffly, ”What nonsense are you talking about? How could Becky possibly be male?”

”We all saw it. If there wasn’t something wrong with him, we wouldn’t have just watched as our companion was captured!

The Undead Tribe has something that can play recordings! Go see for yourselves; I don’t want to say it again! It’s too disgusting!” Espario’s horse face was almost contorted, ”Let that king do the interrogation! You just watch! Keep an eye on Steven, don’t let her go mad.

I’m so confused right now; I don’t want to know anything! Damn it~ Horses have their privacy too! I didn’t expect humans to see!

The other horses are nearly going mad too! Becky was a very popular little mare!

The only thing I can be thankful for is that I’ve always been focused on pursuing Felicia and never made overtures to Becky!

A few of them are already going a bit mad, trying to escape the reality they actually pursued a man!”

Aurthezia walked to her horse: ”Felicia?”

”Julia, I’m feeling very uncomfortable now,” her horse said with a choked voice, ”I thought she was a lovely friend, I discussed everything with her, yet she turned out to not even be a mare, but a male!”

Felicia’s large eyes stared intently at her owner: ”If possible, could you make him shut up and not talk about me?

For over a hundred years, I’ve actually been living in the same stable with a male human!

I really really feel like I don’t want to live anymore!”

This beautiful white horse was anxiously stepping back and forth, continuously kicking the wall with its front hooves.

Mason and the other knights wisely took their horses away, far enough to ask directly and then they came back together to exchange the information they had obtained.

It seems they all received affirmative news. Although they looked ashen and were in a foul mood, they were still comparatively composed.

Although the Radiant Knights were reluctant to believe it, since their own horses had said so, they had no choice but to accept the fact.

They now wanted to know what this horse had leaked, whether their camp was no longer safe, and most importantly if there were still spies in their midst.

No knight was ever on guard against their own horse.

Deputy Commander Aurthezia could no longer care about the truth; she was busy comforting her own horse, whose body and soul had been tremendously shocked.

The other knights bypassed the two female companions, especially Soraya Steven who was in disbelief.

The female knight was very beautiful, with long red wavy hair loosely tied into a ponytail, probably getting ready for bed, wearing just a linen shirt and trousers.

Her full, heaving chest vibrated violently. In Teraxil, it was rare to see such a powerfully attractive female, especially one with somewhat of a baby face.

Normally, the Undead would probably be going mad with glee, but now most of them had quietly slipped away; they would rather go back and watch the live broadcast.

After finding out that this horse was actually the mount of another female knight, most of the Undead Tribe made themselves scarce, and likewise did those female knights. Everyone understood that this was a colossal blunder.

Especially since this horse was a man transformed—a legendary female knight’s mount. No matter how it was looked at, they must have spent over a century together.

Everyone understood, true or false, this lady would not be thankful for their discovery. She didn’t slaughter all who knew about this only because she wasn’t powerful enough.

Only ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was still stubbornly standing there, though he had already discreetly moved behind William, still holding on to some poor soul.

Steven stood there silently, trembling, without saying a word. She was waiting for William to give her resolution.

William used his Divine Power without hesitation.

Scales appeared in front of the horse, and William pulled its soul out.

Aurthezia couldn’t control her gasp; Steven trembled.

That soul was clearly humanoid and in no way resembled a woman.

Although Hill knew what had happened, when Mason’s horse spoke to the female knight about her horse being a man, he quickly retreated to the safety of the Royal Palace.

He wanted to spectate, but he certainly didn’t want to become the spectacle.

The Undead Tribe didn’t mind; they would not care if this unfortunate female knight would hold resentment against them. Leaving now didn’t mean they were unaware of what was going on at the scene.

Hill figured that they retreated so quickly probably because William had spoken.

Hill didn’t want to become a thorn in the side of the female knight someday; he wasn’t blind, after all. The view from the top floor of the Royal Palace was still very clear.

”Clearly, lady, your horse has either been replaced, or it has always been this individual,” William said impassively, ”I think you know very well whether your horse had any obvious changes.”

Suddenly, Soraya Steven burst into anguished cries: ”My Becky!”
