Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 537: Chapter 336: Can We Change the Welcome Ceremony?

Fran couldn’t control his own anger and kicked the books away.

In the world of Gerns, both nobles and high-level professionals, there were hardly any innocent ones when they all died.

However, the common people were innocent.

They merely lived in a false world, sacrificing their lives in wars for the so-called glory of the nobles, abandoning their homes and jobs for the tiny benefits falling from the hands of the nobility.

Fran could conclude from the books that the families here lived well, the commoners were never poor, and they even didn’t suffer much.

Thus, to preserve their happy lives and prevent other nobles from defeating their own lords, most commoners went to the battlefield full of belief.

And the only evaluation these nobles had for these people, who forgot about death for their sake, was that their soul crystals were worth much more than those stubborn fools.

Even when occasionally a wise person discovered the truth, they only dared to hint at it slightly in knight novels.

Or it could be said that some had resisted, but when the power of discourse was in the hands of the nobility, there could hardly be any written records.

Fran contemplated that he needed to find more of these miscellaneous writings by magicians in this world; they were colder than those in Teraxil but hated the nobility more, and he should be able to find something worth reading.

He disliked the history books of the nobility and would just toss them aside even if he bought them later.

He also wondered whether there had been any people’s uprisings in this world, or if they had been suppressed by some god that couldn’t be mentioned.

In this fantastical world, the people at the bottom, despite giving their all, mostly just die valiantly.

In Saral, regardless of the god, if those nobles were displeased, there would be great nobility leading the rebellion.

They certainly knew the gods were powerful, but the deities of Teraxil always only sought out the chief culprits.

Moreover, if a god themselves erred, such as the God of Nobility, not all the nobles in his own nation initially split from him were his subordinates.

But because he himself was initially at fault, aside from the nobles who voluntarily returned, he gave up on re-incorporating the City of Sighs back into Dionysio. Then, after discussing with William, he would rather waste divine power to create mountains and expand his territory to the south.

The humans of the Teraxil World actually have strong trust in their gods, for example, their proficient use of contracts.

Even if they don’t worship gods, they don’t hold much dissatisfaction against them and would still pray for their blessing during related events.

But in this world, it seems humans tend to trust devils more than gods.

In this lengthy and tedious history of the Daly Family, there was never mention of praying to the gods; however, there was considerable respect for magicians around them, and they regretted how a certain clan leader’s foolishness brought disaster to the family, causing their only support to disappear.

In the future, it’s unknown how many generations it will take to return to the rank of great nobility.

No wonder a baron’s family could establish their territory in the central position of the world. They actually descended from great nobility.

In this world, a noble’s original domain cannot be taken away even by the king.

This is the basis for these nobles to act recklessly; no matter what they do, nobles will always be nobles.

Fran leaned back on the sofa and sighed helplessly; such a world naturally had a strong abyssal aura.

He flipped over, sat up, and started to write out the historical outline he had pieced together.

The Will of the Gerns World is a bit strange; it seems he doesn’t care about anything.

If it were Teraxil, it would never tolerate devils behaving so recklessly in its own world.

Fran didn’t know why Gerns did this, but William had better not trust his words too much.

Fran opened the window and inquired whether William was inside as he saw a guard passing by, worrying that the king might have gone to that disguised palace ahead.

Since the activation of the camp’s defense array, the King’s Guard had already started patrolling again.

Their main mission was to prevent the undead from making trouble and guide these folks who couldn’t even read a map.

The natives of Saral still wondered to this day why these powerful undead always seemed to lose their way.

It was one thing for Central City and the capital Keslow, as these places were indeed a bit complex, especially Central City with its multiple levels.

Although it was surprising they could still fall from next to the floating stairway, it was somewhat understandable.

But for those small towns with only two or three roads or the clearly visible camps outside the Abyssal Gate, the fact that the undead still couldn’t find their way truly shocked many locals.

Likely, regardless of the city, Saral would deploy guards to patrol within the cities, whose main task was to show the undead the way.

Not only the cities directly governed by the king but many nobles, for the sake of convenience, had initiated teleportation arrays, and then they all directly went to the Temple of Time and Space to apply for a Divine Array that covered the entire city, used to control these creatures who, for some unknown reason, would suddenly wander over and were very easily overexcited.

Therefore, the people of Saral were accustomed to divine light suddenly splitting the air beside them, followed by the smell of charred material. They did not even bother to gather around and watch anymore.

Therefore, even in this world, as long as William was present, these guards did not have to worry about facing these Undead Tribe members themselves; they just needed to give directions to the bizarrely lost members of the Undead Tribe during their patrols.

The guard picked up a silver-black tablet and checked: ”Mr. Hill, His Majesty the King is still at the Stone Palace.”

Isn’t that the nickname given to that disguised Royal Palace by the Undead Tribe? You’re just using it outright like that!

Hill smiled helplessly and got up to walk towards that large stone.

William had also quietly changed the position of his residence, with the several small huts quietly placed at six sharp corners.

Hill guessed that these houses must belong to the Undead Mages, no, more like the Space-Time Warlocks of the Undead Tribe.

This was obviously a layout of a Divine Formation, only obscured mostly by some nearby Alchemy Huts that looked fairly similar.

Hill knew not only because he was an Alchemy Master, but also because these huts were either made by him or by Fran.

All the points were made by Fran, which Hill realized upon seeing them.

Hill walked beside the Stone Palace, and a door quietly opened beside him.

William sat on the throne, turned his head with a smile, and asked, ”Hill, what brings you here?”

Hill took out a few pages of notes: ”These are the chronicles of a nearby ordinary noble and the Magister next to him, I think His Majesty should take a look.

Perhaps His Majesty already knew a lot before coming here, but some things are different when seen with one’s own eyes.”

William took the papers and carefully read them, then couldn’t help but crumple them into pieces.

”Your Majesty?” Spencer reminded dubiously, ”Mr. Hill is still here!”

”It’s not about him!” William said coldly, ”Hill knows. This damned world! No wonder Gerns ran away so fast!

What about him? Does the World Tree know this world is simply a natural devil?”

”Rather than being a natural devil, I think it’s possible that something went wrong when the World Will was being formed,” Hill sighed and said, ”In that Moon Halo, the dormant kind Silvermoon and the fallen Sun God are all fine. If Gerns had an innate issue, this world would not possibly have any kind gods born.”

William waved his hand, and the pages returned to their original form, which he handed to Spencer: ”Take a look and then distribute it to the Undead Tribe. Be even more cautious about the guest who is about to arrive.”

He sighed quietly: ”Also, let the Undead Tribe not only record the Magic Books, but also all these historical notes. I need to take a look.

I need to have an impression of the nobility surnames of this world.”

”Our camp, isn’t it that those not from the Neutral faction cannot enter?” Spencer asked hoarsely after a few glances, ”These nobles, even if they are just children, carry original sin, right? They can’t possibly be neutral.”

”If it were in Teraxil, I certainly wouldn’t think anyone could hide from my sight, but this is Gerns world, even the World Will doesn’t know how it turned out to be like this, tricking me, a demigod from another world, what’s so difficult about that?”

Hill knew what William planned, he would intervene as a demigod rather than a future deity.

Before igniting the Divine Fire, in fact, the two seemed similar, it’s just that William could fight several at once.

Hill took out the thick volume of Baron Daley’s family history: ”This has the names of all the nobles in this country; they are barons, and virtually all the noble names of the territories are in here.

The names from other countries aren’t listed yet; the Daley family does not have the credentials for diplomacy.”

William directly took it, quickly flipping to that section, scanning rapidly: ”Those guys are very close now, they’ll be here in an hour, Spencer, have you arranged for someone to meet them?”

”Of course. I had Snow Cloud Peak greet them with the Magical Elephant Squad,” Spencer said dryly, ”I regret a bit now, I should have chosen Perfect Bald, their family’s Wild Boar Squad would be more appropriate.”

Hill couldn’t help but glance at Spencer, the difference between the two squads wasn’t about size or intimidation, but about control.

The Black Rose group never intended to rein in their own large pigs, their mounts being called from ’demon pigs’ to ’wild boars’ and they were actually proud of it.

The Magical Elephant Squad could remain completely still, but the Wild Boar Squad was easily provoked into attacking.

After all, the leaders of this Wild Boar Squad were all the especially large piglets of the Duchess.

Throwing stinky mud was their usual course of action whenever they got angry.

Hill caught the fiery look in Spencer’s eyes and suddenly realized, for the Spencer family, who prided themselves on being noble knights, they certainly would not see these nobles from another world as their equals.

”Actually, there’s still time to switch.” Hill spoke softly, ”The Baldys are all in the camp.”
