Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 535: Chapter 334: Hill, Who Didn’t Fool Even the Undead Tribe

Hill observed for a long while. He wasn’t entirely ignorant about the laws of space, but this was beyond his comprehension.

How could so many humans fit in an unchanged area without overlapping? Hill truly couldn’t grasp the principles of this divine art.

Is this what they call a miracle?

How could this be achieved? Could the power of volition really be this strong?

Hill was utterly baffled and confused.

All he could do was ask William, who was standing mid-air with his arms crossed, ”Your Majesty, what space law is being used here? Illusion or reality?”

”How would I know?” William spread his hands nonchalantly and said, ”As far as I understand, if Gerns thinks it, Gerns can do it.

You want me to explain using an alchemist’s point of view, but I can’t do that. You’d have to ask the God of Time and Space.

Why would you ask such a disrespectful question to a knight?”

Hill couldn’t help but grind his teeth. William always used divine arts; what kind of knight was he?

William suddenly laughed, ”Does Hill really not understand it at all?”

Hill nodded helplessly.

Laughing triumphantly, the King of Saral said, ”Then even the God of Time and Space is in danger. His alchemy is probably only slightly better than yours. Master Fran’s designs took him a very long time to learn.

When I go back and he sees from my memories, he’ll surely regret not coming here himself.

He, like you, thinks like a mage, needing an array for everything.

It’s high time to completely abandon reason and see what true Divine Arts are like!

You see, Gerns just has to think, and it’s done.”

Hill looked at the gloating William, somewhat baffled by where such resentment could be coming from.

The God of Time and Space had always been good to him, almost like a real father. Was William in a rebellious phase?

But that was between the God of Time and Space and William. Hill wouldn’t meddle; he didn’t believe that William, even if equal in divine power, could surpass him in strength.

Even if they shared the same soul, their minds were still different.

”Hill,” William turned to him and said, ”the demons are likely to attack in force soon, possibly even lords.

This place is the central region of this world.

Right beneath us lies the sleeping Will of the World, with Gerns at the core.

You should stay nearby for now, to avoid being captured on the way.

By the way, there’s nothing important in your magic tower, right? I think even the tower Adrian uses in Central City is stronger than this one.”

Hill opened his mouth to reply, nodding and saying, ”I understand. This tower was just something I seized for convenience; there’s nothing important here. It’s okay to leave it.”

William chuckled, ”Then be careful, and it’s best not to stay in this tower anymore.”

Hill agreed nonchalantly. In fact, he really wanted to take this opportunity, while the demons’ attention was focused here, to explore other parts of this world.

But with William’s words, the demon lord here must be extremely powerful, and several of Hill’s hiding techniques might fail.

Hill still deeply valued his own life. He definitely wouldn’t venture out now. He’d wait and see how things developed, particularly the type of demon lord taking over here. He needed to understand first.

”Don’t act either, unless I call you,” William shrugged. ”The Undead need some serious training, or else their legendary elevation quest won’t be easy.”

Hill was curious, but William didn’t plan to elaborate further and just flashed away back to the palace.

The Undead soon made new arrangements, altering the placements of their standard houses.

Starting from the mouth of the valley, they placed the houses in three rings in a semi-circular pattern, with a main road breaking through the middle of the first two rings.

At the center of the last ring was a palace-like large house, topped with a set of scales illuminated by holy light.

Behind that were various small houses of the Undead, arranged haphazardly.

William’s stone palace was nestled among these small houses.

In contrast, Hill’s magic tower near the Star Gate was quite conspicuous.

After all, it was a nine-story tower, clearly a place for a mage.

Hill watched for a long while and finally confirmed that this was preparation for the imminent arrival of guests.

Even for those Gerns trusted, William seemed to be holding back. His magic tower was indeed too conspicuous.

The Undead Tribe began constructing some intermediate-level magic towers next to Hill’s Magic Tower.

Centering around Hill’s tower, twelve magic towers, with their ostentatious exteriors, were artfully decorated by the Undead Tribe using various magic materials.

The useless flicker of magic aura was utterly intolerable to Hill, and for an alchemist, these magic towers were almost an affront to his profession.

Hill would definitely not reside in such a place.

Fortunately, Hill had not yet installed a Tower Spirit. List, unable to leave, grew somewhat envious, showing a rare slight temper.

Since he didn’t need anything for the time being and considering he might leave at any moment, he temporarily decided against using a Tower Spirit.

Luckily, Hill had several personal magic towers, but there were not many high-level Tower Spirits that could meet his standards.

Hill quietly packed away his belongings and walked out the door.

He glanced around and chose a spot among the colorful mushroom clusters to conjure a small mushroom house.

Disguised again, Hill handed over the control of his magic tower to an Undead Mage sent by William.

Knowing Hill’s good rapport with the Black Rose Family, the mage who came for the handover was ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ from that family.

”It’s been a long time, Mr. Hill,” ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ said sincerely, ”We thought you wouldn’t venture into such a dangerous place!”

”In a world on the brink of collapse, much knowledge that was once crucial and secretive turns into merchandise,” Hill said with a light smile, ”I am here to purchase various books and scrolls, and this world’s understanding of the Abyss and Hell must be far superior to ours; I should be able to gather much information.”

”Is this a long-term task?” ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ asked with an eager smile. ”Black Rose is always at your service.”

Hill smiled and nodded, ”Of course, you may share with your allies as well. However, I only accept the goodwill of friends.”

Hill planned to maintain his style, only dealing with Undead Tribe members who held a reputation above friendly; there were simply too many of the Undead Tribe for him to handle otherwise.

After handing over the crystal ball core that controlled the magic tower to ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust,’ who spirited away with a hop, skip, and jump, Hill found nothing strange about it.

In this place, the only ones who could issue tasks were William, his subordinates, and Hill.

On William’s side, the tasks were available to everyone; they could only complete them slightly faster than others, but with the tasks from Hill, they could get ahead by several steps.

Moreover, since this was the world’s center, nearby there must be a large city like Central City and countless small towns.

The Black Rose Family, always fierce in combat, had been seen by Hill charging frantically at the forefront of a Wild Boar Legion just the day before.

They might have already discovered some abandoned towns and acquired some items.

Hill thought about it, then placed another short, chubby gray mushroom house in front of his own mushroom house.

This little house was quite spacious and suitable for entertaining guests or as a small general store.

As Hill was arranging the gray mushroom house, he suddenly stopped: had he now become one of those special traveling merchants in games? The ones that always appeared near battlefields and unfortunate towns, similar to harbingers of death, where his appearance meant either destruction or massive casualties?

Hill silently dismissed the persistent image from his mind of him, laden with goods, dolling out items, dirty-faced: he owned a shop, after all! It wasn’t that tragic.

Once he had arranged the shop and hung the sign, he saw ’Perfect Bald,’ the little black-robed loli, scampering around the shop stealthily, making her way towards him.

This little rascal, no doubt planning to make her own profits for a few days before sharing with her allies when she could no longer hide it.

Otherwise, with the temperament of the Black Rose Family, they would all have come together.

”Welcome, Mr. Perfect Bald,” Hill invited him into the shop, ”Currently, I only intend to make purchases. I hadn’t planned on staying in this camp for long and didn’t store any potions or equipment that might be suitable for you.

Besides, you should have enough potions on you, right?”

In Hill’s Domain’s Alchemy Workshop, these families had been tirelessly working for years; the stock of potions would probably last them about a decade.

’Perfect Bald’ smiled adorably: ”Yes, we’ve had a long contract on Mr. Hill’s workshop. Three months later, we can still have someone deliver them.

We temporarily don’t need potions for health or mana.

William has them for sale too, just a bit more expensive than yours, Mr. Hill.

But if you have potions that can enhance physical attributes, please be sure to sell them to us, Mr. Hill!”

Looking at the eager face of the little black-robed loli, Hill helplessly shook his head: ”That depends if this world has enough materials.

”We will pay attention to collecting various materials!” ’Perfect Bald’ struck her little chest with conviction.

”Alright,” Hill smiled resignedly, ”Are you here to sell books?”

”Yes! We thought Mr. Hill might have arrived, so we collected some things Mr. Hill might like,” Perfect Bald walked straight to the long desk set in the center of the shop, pulling out book after book from her small bag, ”We were lucky to come across an abandoned magic tower.”

Hill smiled helplessly, even the Undead Tribe hadn’t been fooled; ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’s’ feigned surprise had all been an act.
